Chapter 27 - 27: Reunion

Reunion.

Thirty seconds ago:

Joseph Watson, Athena's father, walked in the hallway when he looked to his left and noticed a group of people with bouquets of flowers walking towards the garden. He expressed confusion as he paused and observed for more information. Julius Watson also emerged from his office as he arrived next to Joseph, like his son, Julius expressed confusion as he spoke.

"Flowers? Could they be for Athena? She never struck me as the type to indulge in romance, so how come she is receiving flowers?" Julius held a thoughtful face as he spectated the outside scene of the guards stopping the group of people from approaching the courtyard.

"I agree. She doesn't even participate in social media; I think Louis is the one running her social media accounts. But then again, she is a young and highly beautiful woman, and on top of that, a very talented Awakened with unlimited potential. It's quite normal for girls her age to start receiving gifts and presents. But knowing Athena's nature, rejecting them shouldn't even be a debate."

Joseph Watson spoke, priding his words like a father who understood his daughter very well. But his reality was about to be shattered.

As Julius and Joseph watched, they witnessed Athena allowing the people to enter. One of the women handed over a bouquet to Athena, Athena held it as she noticed a card to it. Athena began reading the card. Julius Watson, being a powerful Awakened warrior, focused his attention as he eavesdropped Athena reading the card.

Julius assumed a doubtful face as he murmured to himself. "Reclaim?" But he didn't even finish his murmur when he and his son saw Athena's mood going from passive to vibrant, like a girl promised a doll house, Athena became ecstatic as she seemed to be looking for someone among the crowd.

Looking at Athena's ecstatic action, Julius and Joseph exchanged gazes in shock, both men seeing the disbelief in each other's eyes.

Like robots, the two men mechanically turned their heads as they continued watching the scene: Athena was given the other bouquet in the woman's hands, as if seeing the light in a dark tunnel, Athena's face became even more excited as her figure vanished from her spot the next instant, causing the flower petals to fly all over the scene.

Julius and Joseph expressed with open mouths as they watched Athena rushing towards the compound gates. And at the speed she ran, it only meant whoever sent those flowers to Athena was someone she held high emotions for.

Outside the Watson family compound

As if time froze, Athena stood outside the gate as she stared at the man in the distance. Sequences of heartbeats came from her chest as she breathed heavily, her chest heaving up and down like a wave. Her breathing was not because she ran, but because of the emotion she was currently experiencing due to the person standing before her.

Patrick stood six feet from Athena wearing an oversized grey hoodie and long black pants. He had a black wristwatch and a black shade; he wore a black boot with stylishly outlined designs in grey ink on it. With hands in his pocket, Patrick made a smirk as he looked at the godly beauty standing before him in pride, "Hello, goddess of annoyance." Patrick spoke as his smirk became wider.

Hearing Patrick's words, Athena's face only became more vibrant with a smile, she suddenly dashed as she instantly appeared and wrapped her arms around Patrick, her eyes carrying tears of happiness like lovers meeting after being separated for ages.

"Trick, I missed you." Athena exclaimed as she tightly wrapped her arms around Patrick's neck; due to their height difference, Patrick being 6' 7" tall and Athena being 5' 11" tall, Patrick had to bend down, but even then, Athena's feet were still tiptoeing.

"Are you only going to hug me?" Wrapped in Athena's embrace, Patrick spoke, his words toned with sarcasm. But hearing Patrick's words, Athena released her embrace as she stared deeply into his eyes. But obstructed by the shade, Athena pulled away Patrick's black shade as she bracketed gazes with him.

Patrick currently didn't have his infinity pupils, leaving only his golden pupils, and his silver hair was still in a ponytail.

After removing Patrick's dark shade, Athena mesmerizingly stared into Patrick's eyes as she smiled lovingly, she held Patrick's jaws as she pulled him in while saying, "Come here, my golden-eyed monster." Upon finishing her words, Athena met her godly lips with Patrick's as the two kissed.

Time froze, literally, as the two exchanged kisses, their tongues going in and out of each other's mouths, disregarding everything around them, including the fact that they were currently outside the Watson family mansion. But none of that mattered because time was currently halted, and no one would claim to have witnessed this scene.

After what felt like a year of kissing, Athena finally released her suckling lips from Patrick's as she shyly looked to the side. She became a completely different person; unlike the calm and tranquil woman she had displayed previously. "That was for our time apart," Athena said as she lessened her grip on Patrick's neck.

Patrick steadily brought Athena down holding her by her waist, he smiled as he spoke.

"If that was for our time apart, then we should have more times apart then-" tap- "Don't say that~" Athena interrupted as she patted Patrick on his chest, Patrick chuckled as he spoke "Or maybe I'm just a good kisser that all-" tap "Stop that~ you haven't changed a bit; after years of being apart, and you still think of teasing me."

"Ok, fine, no more teasing," Patrick said as he held his arms in acceptance. "Anyways, I'm going to France for breakfast, want to join?"

Hearing Patrick's words, Athena expressed surprise as she asked, "France? "Right now?"

"Yes. Don't worry, it won't be a long trip." Patrick said casually. But Athena held an unconvinced face as she said, "Rather than going to France, why don't you let me make you breakfast at my house; plus you get to meet my father and grandfather. "What do you say?"

Listening to Athena's words, Patrick held a pretend-to-be-thinking expression as he stared at Athena, who seemed to be carrying an expecting gaze. Seeing Athena's expression, Patrick held a hidden smirk as he pretended to be thinking.

"Master, Lady Athena's love for you can be calculated to be boundless, at this level, she will even die for you on command. Her love can be translated as godly obsession."

'I know she is obsessed with me alright; I just miss teasing her. And besides, I never really wanted to visit France.' Patrick chatted with Grace.

"Trick, are you really going to think that hard about this?" Athena said as she held a downcast attitude. But Patrick smiled as he spoke. "Of course not, I am thinking about what you are going to make me." Patrick's words brought about Athena's vibrant expression again, she held his arm as she excitedly pulled him with her.

"Come, you are going to like it."
