Chapter 21 - 21: King XZ Droids: The Ultimate Bodyguards 2 (New)

The female Droid hovered mid-air with relaxed arms and a raised head as numerous golden lines of codes scrolled through its black eyes, it was as if someone was scrolling through a computer at unreadable speed. Three seconds later, the scrolling of golden line codes ceased as the female Droid straightened its head.

Upon straightening its head, the female Droid stared in the distance, its gaze landing on the six mercenaries.

With a single glance, the female Droid's exoskeletal vision easily scanned through the masks of the mercenaries as it discerned their race and gender.

Five males and one female: the bulky leader was a fair-skinned German, the female mercenary was a beautiful blue-haired Asian with nose piercings, the remaining four men were: a middle-aged American, an African with face tattoos, and two Asians with identical facial features. With a perceptive eye, one can easily tell they were twins.

The six mercenaries in the distance stared at the female Droid with caution as they remained unmoved in their positions, it was as if they were contemplating their next course of action, but most importantly, they were more cautious about the Droid's actions.

Obviously, the mercenaries were aware of the Droid's strength, after all, they had personally exchanged arms and had completely lost in terms of strength. Although they hadn't used their Awakened abilities yet, they could still sense the difference in strength and raw power.

With its sheer power alone, this one female Droid had withstood the combined attacks of five B-ranks, and an A-rank, even against their Mana-augmented attacks.

Another thing the mercenaries dared not ignore was the Droid's speed. With a speed surpassing even an A-rank, this one Droid had prevented them from escaping, although it didn't attack, its constant and instant emergence in their faces alone was enough to grow dread in the mercenaries' hearts. This dread seems to be unnoticeably growing as of current.

Then, suddenly, the mercenaries saw the Droid vanish from their line of sight, while simultaneously, a painful grunt sounded from among them. Along with the grunted sound was the sound of flesh being pierced into. With how loud and revolting the flesh-piercing noise was, the mercenaries couldn't even ignore it if they tried, they quickly figured out where the sound originated.

They looked to their sides at the center of the group as what awaited them was a heart-wrenching, blood-rushing, and deathly paled-faced scene.

In the center of the group, the Droid's left arm pierced through the chest of one of the twins, with the mercenary's beating heart gripped in the Droid's palms as it pumped with blood and vigor. The male twin's face was deathly pale, he stared at the female Droid with terrified widened eyes as he slowly looked down to his chest.

Seeing the wide hole in his chest, the twin blurted a mouthful of blood within his mask mixed with internal organs as he raised his head to look at the Droid one last time. Then, like the lifeless body it was, the male mercenary's body slowly slipped from the Droid's arm as it fell from the sky.

Silence permeated the scene for more than three seconds. This wasn't because no one didn't want to act, but rather the mercenaries were in utter shock, as they were still absorbing the scene of their comrade getting his heart plunged from his body.

But suddenly, a male mercenary removed his mask with urgency, revealing an Asian man who seemed to be in his early thirties. The man's eyes were red and bloodshot as he stared at the female Droid with gritted teeth. Without any need for evaluation, one can see overwhelming killing intent rising from the man's body, causing heavy pressure to befall the scene.

Then, without the slightest hesitation, the man's body burst out with red Mana energy as he flashed at the Droid.

Seeing the man flash in its direction, the female Droid's eyes began scrolling golden lines as if assessing and calculating something. In the next instant, the twin mercenary appeared before the Droid as he threw a heavy right-hand punch in its face, but the Droid easily caught the man's fist as its eyes continued scrolling with golden lines.

Despite getting his punch blocked, the mercenary didn't react much, instead, his killing intent erupted even more.

"Blazing Fury!" The male mercenary bellowed as the next moment, his fist blocked by the Droid turned hot and blazing red. One could see the Droid's hand getting steamed off as it slowly began assuming a liquid state. Then simultaneously, the mercenary placed his left palm on the Droid's abdomen as another blazing red and hot energy burst out from his palm and to the Droid's abdomen.

The Droid's black uniform was instantly burnt away as its body turned extremely hot, tiny signs of melting began appearing on its skin which resembled a liquified iron. It has only been three seconds.

With no physical expression of emotions or pain, the Droid remained unreactive to the mercenary's attacks, instead, its golden lines- scrolling-eyes were fixated on the mercenary as he used his ability to attack the Droid.

But even after being attacked simultaneously, the Droid still held on to the mercenary's fist, unresponsive to the extremely blazing hot red fist which looked like it could melt through anything at this point. Even after the mercenary used his other hand to attack the abdomen area, the Droid remained unfazed as it still kept its eyes on him.

But suddenly, as if obtained its objective, the Droid's eyes stopped scrolling golden lines of codes as it released the mercenary's fist. But before the Asian mercenary could even recollect his thoughts, the Droid gripped the mercenary's throat as it slowly lifted him in the air.

The mercenary assumed a desperate but surprised face as he struggled to escape the Droid's grasp, he placed both his palms on the Droid's right hand and released an excessive wave of Mana from his body which was transferred into red energy that caused his palms to become even hotter.

If one were to compare the mercenary's hot hands with a volcano, the volcano would feel like ice compared to his hands.

Despite the mercenary's efforts, the Droid remained unfazed, and its previous melting body had already restored itself. This time, the mercenary's ability didn't even affect the Droid, it was almost as if the Droid had adapted to the man's ability. As to how? only a few know.

Seeing the Droid not being affected by his ability, the mercenary's face turned horrified, to think his ability wasn't even affecting the Droid was too much of a shocker, but more specifically, it was terrifying to see the variable he relied on the most not been effective against the Droid.

But then as if made a final decision, the mercenary's eyes went from terrified to resolute as he gripped the Droid's hand and desperately thundered.

"Blazing Fury- Total Scorch!"

Suddenly, as if the sun had descended on Earth, the scene got extremely hot, the mercenary's body turned darkish red and scorching hot as he hatefully stared at the Droid. His hands became even redder and scorching as cracks could be seen appearing on his skin as if a volcano about to erupt. The scene became so hot it caused a certain part of the sky to become completely clear of clouds.

The heat radiation was so intense one could vividly see the radiation waves spreading for tens of miles on the horizon.

The other four mercenaries remained at their positions as they watched the fight scene, it had only been five seconds, and yet the fight had already reached the point where one party was exercising his full ability. The lady mercenary held out her hand as a Mana-made shield blocked the extreme heat radiation, shielding her and the others from the heat.

"He is going all out. With this amount of Mana energy, the officials must have caught wind of everything and will be here in the next thirty seconds. Let's leave!"

The bulky leader spoke as he ordered for their retreat. The other mercenaries nodded and agreed to leave. They seem to think since their comrade was going all out, the Droid would have no chance of surviving, let alone stop them from escaping. But what awaited them was a reality shocker.

Suddenly, a scream came from the distance and it drew the team's attention, they quickly turned to see what was the cause and to their surprise, they saw their team member being held up in the air with one hand, and on that same hand was a blue-colored scorch which seems to be more scorching than the red scorch. Faces of bewilderment overtook the mercenaries as they stared at the scene.

Suddenly, as if another blue sun had descended on the Earth, a heat radiation countless times massive and thicker than the red scorch reverberated throughout the scene like waves in a raging sea storm. The heat radiation spread for thousands of miles in an instant, causing everything within five thousand miles of the Metro Heaven Hotel to experience extreme levels of heat.

Some people even left their cars in the middle of highways as they went inside buildings for shaded shelter, as either their cars overheated or their tires melted on the road.

Luckily for some civilians, they bought their vehicles from King Tech, which are featured and capable of traveling in any weather.

Unlike other vehicles that stopped operating or had their tires melted into the road, the King Tech vehicles used extreme heat to charge the electric battery portion of the car while also using the heat-absorbing feature on the tires to generate even more speed and grip on the road. But anyway, that's their luck for making a wise decision to buy a product from King Tech.

At the fight scene, the female mercenary hurriedly raised her Mana-created shield as she tried blocking the extreme heat exuding from the Droid's arm. But to her disappointment, the Mana shield she relied on was instantly shattered upon coming in contact with the heat radiation. With their force of protection gone, the heat wave washed over the mercenaries as they were sent back into the distance.

At the same time, the Droid held the twin mercenary with its right hand as it emitted blue scorching heat which suffocated the mercenary as he screamed like a dying pig on the slaughter machine.

Then, suddenly noticing something, the Droid slightly turned its head sideways and used its Detection Essence, which was integrated with godly advanced satellite systems, rendering it capable of scanning the entire planet, solar system, and even the galaxy.

With a radar system so overpowered and reality-defying, the Droid easily became aware of several incoming figures, all of which were Awakened individuals, rushing to their current location at fast speeds.

Like searching for (1+1) on the internet, the Droid instantly got the information of the incoming group, stating their names, origins, Awakened levels, and even their hidden secrets which only they would know. Simultaneously, the Droid calculated the distance and speed of the incoming group as it ascertained their exact time of arrival. Thirty seconds.

A countdown timer appeared in the Droid's interface as it switched its gaze to the mercenaries.

Exactly in that flint of a second, the Droid's blue scorch intensified and burnt off the twin mercenary's head, leaving his disintegrating remains to scatter in the air. The Droid then deactivated its blue scorching hand as it casually drifted behind the four mercenaries who were sent back by the heat radiation wave and had yet to regain their balance.

The Droid's eyes began scrolling again with golden lines as it inspected the Awakened mercenaries. Through its exoskeletal vision, coupled with a golden dew, the Droid could see the internal Mana pathways of the mercenaries. The Droid traced the Mana pathway of the female mercenary and saw a bright area where all the Mana accumulated, which was the heart.

Then within that dense accumulated Mana energy, there were two glints of gems that absorbed the gathered Mana energy. One with a shield etched on it, and the other a hand with plus signs on it, a healer type.

Then, as if found what it was looking for, the Droid's eyes increased its scrolling, <+ 29.989 +> the Droid's scrolling eyes got what it wanted as one could see the exact symbols from the woman within the scrolling line codes in the Droid's eyes. The Droid then switched its gaze to the three male mercenaries and imitated exactly what it did to the female mercenary.

Then, <+ 29.979 +> the Droid's eyes stopped scrolling as they returned to normal, which were completely black, not even a trace of white or other color could be seen in the Droid's eyes.

<+ 29.969 +> Obtaining its objective, the Droid raised its right hand and placed it on the female mercenary's back as the blue scorch from earlier appeared again. In the instance of the scorching blue blaze touching the female mercenary, her clothes were instantly evaporated, and the Droid's hands easily pierced through the woman's chest like an extremely hot iron going through a sponge.

<+ 29.959 +> The woman's body then began to evaporate as steam and heat rose from her body.

While the Asian female mercenary was in the process of evaporation, the Droid drifted to the middle-aged American male mercenary, <+ 29.949 +> The Droid gripped the mercenary by the neck and snapped it, instantly killing the B-rank Awakened; but before leaving the body, the Droid placed it's burning blue hand on the mercenary as his corpse also began disintegrating into ashes remains. <+ 29.939 +>

Now only two out of the six mercenaries remained, the bulky German leader, and the African male with face tattoos. The Droid's speed was truly something they couldn't match up to, as within less than a second, it had killed four out of the remaining six team members.

<+ 29.929+> If they could go back in time, they would slap their previous selves for even attempting to accept today's mission, let alone proceed along with it. But I guess that's a privilege they will never have, let alone exercise.

The Droid didn't stop its attack, it proceeded to the African male mercenary, hovering before the man, <+ 29.919 +> the Droid's right hand transformed into a long three feet energy blade which still had the blue blazing scorch on it. With a casual downward vertical swing, the African mercenary's body got sliced in halves as they also began evaporating like the others. <+ 29.909 +>

As for the leader, the Droid drifted behind him as it reverted its arm to normal, then, raising both hands to the mercenary's head, the Droid clapped as it smashed the mercenary's brains into a mint paste, causing the leader's organs and pasty remains to scatter the scene. <+ 29.899 +>

The Droid waved its palm as it evaporated the remains before they could even fall to the ground. <+ 29.889 +>

And just like that, one King XZ Droid from King Tech, installed with an Unknown Code made by Patrick Alexander King, overpowered and killed six Awakened, including an A-rank, who couldn't even display his Awakened abilities due to the Droid's overwhelming strength and speed.

As for the rest of the team, they are not even worth mentioning; if their leader who was an A-rank was incapable of surviving against the Droid, what privilege did they have that would have prevented them from the same fate?

The fight had ended, six Awakened mercenaries who were a force to be reckoned with, had all been killed. If any of these mercenaries were to engage in a destructive battle against any other enemy, their base strength and speed alone would have been more than enough to cause whatever destruction they desired. But yet against one King XZ Droid, they were nothing but dust waiting to be dusted away.

All this happened within the timelapse of an instant, or in calculative terms, less than a second.

We can attribute the Droid's capabilities to many things, but the source of it all would be Patrick.

Due to Patrick's Unknown Code, which granted the Droids abilities beyond reason, they were able to adapt and fight against any enemy; they could even replicate abilities, a feature that should be considered an ability itself if anyone were to possess it.

Another thing that was also installed with the Unknown Code was the Symbiotic Adaptation Suit, which granted the suit abilities like Hyper Strength, Speed, Durability, Host Regeneration, Teleportation, Energy Adaptation, Energy Explosion, and even a neurogenetic symbiote which was made from Patrick's DNA.

And if that wasn't enough, it also came with a super artificial intelligence system integrated into the suit.

The King XZ Droids were also installed with this same Unknown Code, with only a few differences. Their abilities were enough to conquer entire galaxies, or even greater, Universes and Multiverses. What chance did mere A and B-rank Awakened have facing them? The comparison is too overwhelming and despairing to even consider.

Today's event isn't even a fight worth mentioning, as imagining the future reputations of these Droids, as creations of Patrick Alexander King, it would be blasphemous to even think about it, let alone bring up how one King XZ Droid killed six Awakened in an instant.

All these possibilities mandate us to put respect in Patrick's name. As with his intellect, he had made all these things possible, and it was done while he was an ordinary human being, a mortal. Now imagine what he will accomplish as the person he currently is, an existence beyond comparison.

In the dining chamber, the holographic screen at the opposite end of Patrick's seat displayed a single female Droid floating in the air as it released icy gas into the surroundings as if trying to cool off the environment from the extreme heat.

Looking at the screen, Mark Willis and young Madam Hanami expressed with widened mouths as they stared at the female Droid. Moments ago, there were six mercenaries and the female Droid on the screen, but now there was only the female Droid, it was like watching a movie, and all of a sudden, it was skipped to the end, that's how the current situation was for Mark and young Madan Hanami.

Although they could guess what had happened to the mercenaries, it was still unbelievable.

Dylan Ludwick stood not far from the holographic screen with widened eyes as he stared at the scene in shock and disbelief, even he was surprised by the Droid's abilities. He had thought the King XZ Droid would be very powerful and effective in battle, but not once did he expect them to be this powerful.

Thinking of how he was around these eighty-seven Droids all the time during their production, assembling, and even their activation, Ludwick couldn't help but sweat beads of sweat. One King XZ Droid was able to easily kill six Awakened, now imagine eighty-six more of the same Droid. The thought is beyond terrifying for a normal human like Ludwick.

Suddenly stepping from his stupor, Ludwick arranged his posture and made a slight cough as he spoke, as if finalizing his speech.

"... The King XZ Droids don't only come with the ability to destroy, they also come with restorative features. As you can see, after the battle, the Droid is utilizing the necessary means to restore the environment, in this case, using icy vapor to neutralize the temperature in the surroundings...

There are currently only eighty-seven Droids, but with your permission and authority, I can begin the mass production of the King XZ Droids. And of course, they shall be made solely for your service, Sir..."

Patrick stood in the distance of the room, hands in his pocket as he stared at the Droid steadily returning to the ground. Patrick then traced the Droid until it landed and stood among the other eight-six Droids like a soldier returning to formation. Turning to Ludwick, Patrick spoke.

"... Hmm... make two hundred and thirteen more, making it three hundred. I intend to have a legion of my own."

"At your command, I shall start the process immediately, Sir..."

Ludwick spoke with a nod. But as if thought of something, he continued.

"Sir... what about that plan?"

Hearing Ludwick's question, Mark and young Madam Hanami expressed with confusion as they exchanged glances. But Patrick nodded as he understood what Ludwick was asking, he steadily walked to his seat and sat down as he spoke with a calm face.

"Yes, I didn't forget. I plan to release my medical inventions once I achieve sufficient security. Now that safety is guaranteed, we can proceed as scheduled. Create the Medical Department of King Tech, release news of the inauguration happening in two weeks, and also, invite the world leaders and every powerful organization to the event, since they are practically our customers.

I'm sure they wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to see our medical inventions.
