Chapter 188: FAN A
"Huff..."
Amidst the corridor filled with staff members, the USB drive given by Bai Yi leapt from Yan Huan’s palm and fell back down.
Originally sporting a bulge for a Bluetooth earpiece in his pocket, it had now deflated, with no sign of the earpiece in sight.
The sound system on the stage outside blasted a voice clear enough to make his steps halt,
"Welcome everyone, the famed dancer, Christina!!"
Yan Huan glanced at the promotional poster in the hallway; the name "Bai Yi" was listed right behind "Christina."
He needed to make his move quickly.
"Miao."
He strode towards a certain direction backstage, his expression calm, merely calling out in his mind with this utterance.
"Meow~"
Atop his shoulder, the darkness seemed to open a pair of azure eyes.
It took a closer look to realize it was a fluffy black cat wearing a yellow scarf.
It meowed softly, signifying "done."
Without looking back, Yan Huan tossed the USB drive in his hand to it.
"Meow!"
Miao caught the USB drive in its mouth.
Its tail flicked and tapped against Yan Huan’s shoulder.
And Yan Huan had already stopped by the side of a room, leaning against the wall, glancing at the various equipment inside.
The door bore a sign:
"Media Room," "No Entry for Non-Staff."
Inside, a staff member with a walkie-talkie spoke up,
"BGM is ready, over."
"Received, the next performer doesn’t need BGM, you can take a break."
The staff member, holding a coffee cup, glanced at the guest list beside him, and after spotting the name "Bai Yi," took a sip,
"Received."
Yan Huan leaned against the door, the black cat on his shoulder now invisible, having heard the voices inside, he gently knocked on the door.
"Knock knock..."
"Who’s there?"
The staff inside hurriedly turned their head, looking towards the door, and saw a handsome young man with a phone.
Looking at his phone, he called out to the staff member inside,
"Media staff, I’m the assistant of the guest Ichihara Nana who’s up later. It’s like this, we’d like to change the background music for when we go on stage..."
"Change the background music?"
The staff member frowned, put down the coffee, saying,
"Why didn’t you say so during the rehearsal? Everything is already arranged now, how can it be changed? No, no, go back and tell your artist, can’t be changed."
Yan Huan just smiled and took out his cell phone, saying,
"We’ve already talked to the leaders of Golden Lion Group. How about this, I’ll call him, and after you talk to him, we can discuss it?"
The staff member paused for a moment after hearing that, then scratched his head and stood up reluctantly, moving towards the door.
Behind him, the unfinished coffee and keys remained on the table.
Impatiently eying Yan Huan, he said,
"It’s no use talking to Golden Lion’s leaders, unless it’s cleared with the leaders responsible for the performances. I can only operate with approval, otherwise, I can’t take the responsibility..."
"Just take the call first."
"Fine, fine, but just so you know, my response will be the same."
The staff member emphasized, his body already outside the room.
Just as he left the room, a ghostly black cat appeared on the doorknob out of nowhere, its tail wrapping around the lock below.
"Thud!!"
The next second, the security door of the media room slammed shut!
"Damn!!"
The staff member in charge was taken aback, his face changing as he turned to open the door,
"Click, click!"
The door had locked.
"What the hell?!"
His face changed again as he turned back to Yan Huan.
Just as he was about to say something, Yan Huan’s face carried an innocent look,
"Hey, buddy... I never even entered the room, how is this on me?"
His words made the about-to-explode staff member pause.
Yeah indeed, this guy hadn’t entered the media room at all since the beginning, and the door had just shut as soon as he came out...
And there isn’t even a draft here, how could the door close so inexplicably, and lock itself?!
But now, the situation didn’t allow him any more time to think.
He had to play the audio following the rehearsal schedule inside, thankfully, the next guest had a lengthy seven and a half minute slot without needing any BGM.
He had to get the door open before the next act, "Bai Yi," ended to play the corresponding BGM...
Otherwise, it would be a severe stage accident.
The staff member broke into a cold sweat, turning to Yan Huan and glaring at him with a chilled expression, cursing,
"It’s all your damn fault!! There are cameras in the corridor! If anything happens you and your artist just wait!"
Indeed, this was Yan Huan’s doing, so he did not argue.
He just smiled, opening his mouth to say,
"Okay."
The statement seemed to choke the staff member, who gasped for breath and only after a few moments recovered.
Then, gritting his teeth, he ran off to find someone else with a key to the media room.
Meanwhile, Yan Huan kept his smile as he watched his retreating figure, looking towards the direction of the locked media room.
"..."
Inside the room, the phantom-like black cat with the USB drive in its mouth wiggled its tail and approached the computer, laboriously aligning the USB port with the machine.
Insert...
"Ding-dong~"
"Meow?"
Miao tilted its head, glancing at the computer screen that now showed the connected device, then jumped up onto the desk.
Its azure eyes reflected the glow from the computer screen, and then, using its paw pads, it started fiddling with the mouse, opening the USB drive.
