Global Lords: Hundredfold Increments Starting With the Undead -
Chapter 1453 - 1023: Breaking Out of the Cocoon
Giantstone Ruins, in the hall of the overlapping space.
The golden giant dragon curled up into a ball, still guarding beside the fleshy cocoon.
She and Nisbit didn't need to eat or rest; guarding for some time posed no problem whatsoever.
Nisbit and the others continually entered the hall, piling the Thunder-eating insect corpses they found at a fixed spot.
The formation of the flesh womb required a tremendous amount of energy.
If it were outside, this would have been a truly arduous task—perhaps many living creatures would need to die to provide enough energy.
But here, the quantity was astonishing, and all of them were Level 10 Thunder-eating insects, making them the best nourishment.
It could completely satisfy the energy needs of the flesh womb.
At this moment, Nisbit, who had just brought in more Thunder-eating insect corpses, spoke up: "Dragon Queen, those transmigrators from earlier are waiting outside."
The coiled golden dragon opened her cold vertical pupils and asked, "Weren't the transmigrators supposed to have left? Why are they back?"
She was not Fang Hao.
If these transmigrators had some ulterior motives or sought something here,
she wouldn't mind sending them off.
Especially since she hadn't been in the best mood lately.
"According to them, the entrance was blocked by ogres. They plan to leave together with us when the time comes," Nisbit answered.
Leave together?
This meant that, after all this time,
these transmigrators still hadn't left and had been lingering within this overlapping space.
Thinking it over, she replied, "Tell them to set up camp at a farther spot. We'll take them along when we leave."
"Understood!" Nisbit was just about to turn and leave.
The Dragon Queen spoke again, saying, "Have them collect corpses too. When we're out, they'll be rewarded with corresponding weapons and equipment based on the quantity. Yes, tell them it's a mission assignment."
"Understood, Dragon Queen!" Nisbit replied and left immediately.
Outside the hall's gates.
The Power of Faith Alliance's transmigrators had all gathered here.
Trapped in this space for over a month now, although food and water could be exchanged for, the living conditions here still made life unbearable for them.
Thus, they mustered the courage to enter the city directly.
To find the powerful figure who hadn't appeared since venturing in.
With everyone eagerly awaiting, Nisbit emerged and loudly conveyed the Dragon Queen's task.
The transmigrators exchanged glances but ultimately complied with the instructions and began their work.
They started hunting and collecting Thunder-eating insect corpses,
bringing and piling all of them outside the hall, which Nisbit then transported inside.
...
Time passed slowly.
*Pop~ Rip!*
A tender, pale hand pierced through the fleshy membrane, tearing it open forcefully to form a larger opening.
Immediately, a man with skin as fair as a baby's stepped out from within.
"Who are you?"
As soon as his foot touched the ground, a cold voice of inquiry echoed.
Looking up, he saw the Dragon Queen wielding a battle axe, her gaze filled with vigilance.
The World-Destroying Battle Axe gleamed with a chilling aura, and given her decisiveness, any abnormal action on his part would likely lead to the axe descending upon him instantly.
Fang Hao quickly raised his hands and said, "Honey, it's me! I'm Fang Hao."
The Dragon Queen stared directly into his eyes, scrutinizing him carefully.
While his body could theoretically be occupied by someone else, it was near impossible for such an invader to mimic Fang Hao's habits and expressions in a short period of time.
So, there was a high likelihood that the man before her truly was Fang Hao.
The Giant Spirit who had attempted to seize his body had already been obliterated, both body and soul, under the attack of the World-Destroying Battle Axe.
Nonetheless, she continued to ask, "How do you prove it?"
"How do I prove it?"
Seeing her grip the axe tighter, Fang Hao's mind raced as he spoke, "You asked me for a golden mammoth. I didn't have one, so I gave you a small gold elephant encrusted with gemstones, which you later left with Beata. The first time in the gazebo, you only let me touch your thigh to indulge myself. Our first kiss, you were a bit nervous and almost bit my tongue off, I…"
*Swoosh!*
Suddenly, the World-Destroying Battle Axe was pressed against Fang Hao's neck.
The freezing, bone-chilling sensation on his neck immediately silenced him.
He then softly explained, "Everything I said is true, don't you remember?"
"Did I tell you to talk about these things?"
"Our private stuff is the most secret of all. Nobody else knows," Fang Hao continued.
He did have a point; their matters were known only to the two parties involved and, at most, the Red General.
Fang Hao's recounting of these details indeed authenticated his identity.
The Dragon Queen glared at him, annoyed, and said, "That time was an accident, and you're holding on to it forever?"
"No, I just see it as a fond memory." Fang Hao awkwardly smiled and quietly added, "Can I put on some clothes now? This is a bit embarrassing."
The Dragon Queen glanced downwards and dismissively remarked, "Tch!"
"Hey, what's that reaction? That's kind of insulting!"
"Just put on your clothes quickly. We've been stuck here for over two months now. If you hadn't come out soon, I was ready to build a city here." The Dragon Queen went on to trace her slender fingers across his chest, playfully teasing, "You're looking quite nice now, all fair and tender."
"When we get back, I'll let you touch all you want."
Fang Hao quickly dressed himself, putting on his armor and weapons as well.
The battle with the Giant Spirit had been victorious, but it left a slew of mysteries unsolved.
According to the Giant's statement, the system wasn't the "program" transmigrators understood but rather resembled a depiction of a person.
Through missions and rewards, the system guided transmigrators to align with its aspirations.
Thinking about it, it was indeed chilling.
After all, a transmigrator's entire path just seemed to revolve around completing system tasks.
The high-level maps Fang Hao explored were often rewards granted by the system.
It truly seemed plausible that there was a directed agenda at play.
At that moment, the Dragon Queen ordered people to deliver a few items from afar.
A crimson treasure chest, a damaged scale armor, a helmet, battle boots, a divinity fragment, and a radiant, multi-colored crystal stone.
"This was everything we could find in the entire city. The rest were just scraps of broken metal, and I didn't bother having those collected," the Dragon Queen explained.
"Got it." Fang Hao nodded, shifting his gaze to the three pieces of equipment.
[Ruler's Breastplate (Crimson)]
[Category: Godly Relic]
[Defense: Level 8 Defense]
[Effect: Physical Resistance +3500%, Magic Immunity, Active Armor.]
(Description: Crafted for the noble Ruler.)
This was the green scale armor once worn by the Giant Spirit.
Now, however, it appeared tattered and no longer displayed its original color.
Within the pure white space, the opponent had donned this very armor.
The attributes of the armor were truly remarkable.
An eighth-level defense was already the pinnacle in this world.
Moreover, its effects included a massive 3500% boost to physical resistance—an absolutely staggering figure.
How was it that the Crimson-level equipment of the Giant Clan always seemed to have such extreme stats? It felt almost absurd.
Beyond physical resistance, it also provided magic immunity.
This was even more terrifying, essentially rendering the wearer immune to magic.
[Ruler's Helmet (Crimson)]
[Effect: Physical Resistance +1500%, Magic Resistance +800%, Mental Attack Immunity, Magic Attack Immunity, Active Armor.]
[Ruler's Boots (Crimson)]
[Effect: Physical Resistance +1200%, Magic Resistance +1000%, Magic Trap Immunity, Active Armor.]
The remaining helmet and boots,
likewise, provided corresponding boosts to physical and magic resistances.
The helmet offered immunity to mental and psychic attacks, while the boots negated magic traps.
Each piece had its unique protective function.
Altogether, the full set made the wearer practically invincible.
Removing his old armor, Fang Hao prepared to equip the new set.
The moment he entered the colossal armor, it began to shrink and adjust to fit his body perfectly.
He then added the helmet and boots.
Both pieces similarly contracted to fit his human-sized form.
"How do I look?" Fang Hao asked.
The Dragon Queen gave him a once-over and then said, "Like a clean-cut mountain bandit."
"You're the bandit here!" Fang Hao grabbed the Book of Lords, snapping a picture of himself.
His fair face paired with the somewhat ragged armor and helmet did give off a strange sense of incongruity.
If he were a bit tanner or his skin rougher, he might look like a Viking pirate straight out of a movie.
For now, he left the crimson armor on and turned his attention to the remaining items.
The Crimson-level treasure chest could wait to be opened later—
perhaps after returning home.
Moving on, Fang Hao focused on the divinity fragment.
[Would you like to absorb the Divinity Fragment?]
According to the Dragon Queen, the divinity fragment had dropped from the rotting corpse.
At the time, everyone had been preoccupied with dealing with the Giant Spirit's possession, so it went unnoticed.
It was only discovered during the subsequent search.
The Dragon Queen hadn't used it, partially saving it for Fang Hao and partially fearing any hidden schemes from the Giant.
Fang Hao studied the divinity fragment carefully, his heart filled with unease.
After a long inspection, however, it seemed no different from a normal divinity fragment.
"What do you think? Is there anything wrong with it?" the Dragon Queen asked from the side.
"I don't see anything suspicious." Fang Hao pondered, then said, "Stay on guard nearby while I absorb it. If there's any trouble, we'll use soul displacement again and deal with it one more time."
"Alright." The Dragon Queen didn't refuse, raising her battle axe and standing watch.
Seeing her eager stance, Fang Hao added, "Make sure my soul's out before swinging. Don't end me by accident."
"Got it, I know."
After getting her assurance, Fang Hao confirmed the absorption.
The crystalline divinity fragment transformed into a surge of powerful energy, merging directly into his own divinity.
*Crack!*
The fusion of the energy was like breaking through a confining shackle, elevating his divinity to new heights.
[Successfully fused with 'Divinity Fragment.' Your Power of Faith has been enhanced.]
[New feature unlocked: Ancient Heritage.]
...
[Ancient Heritage]: The inheritance methodology of ancient giants allows one to acquire all prior knowledge and techniques of predecessors. Upon obtaining this feature, your own knowledge will be automatically augmented.
Before Fang Hao could dig into the specifics of this feature, a massive influx of information suddenly surged into his mind.
In an instant, it felt as if his brain was being hammered, as if someone were violently stirring his brain matter.
Clutching his head, Fang Hao let out a pained groan.
Beside him, the Dragon Queen's eyes widened in alarm, and the battle axe in her hands was already raised high.
