Global Lords: Hundredfold Increments Starting With the Undead -
Chapter 1389 - 962, Pre-War Preparations
The army marched mightily forward, approaching the fortress camp ever closer.
The scale of the fortress was not large, resembling more a large village encircled by walls.
Simplistic flags hung on the wall, fluttering in the wind.
There were soldiers on guard, who from a distance watched them but issued no warnings, letting them approach the fortress.
The transmigrators exchanged glances, then observed the types of troops around them.
Based on what they had seen along the way, whether it was the rebel army or the guard army, it was essentially an internal struggle within the Human Clan.
But at this moment, within the army of transmigrators, there were Undead, Orcs, and most conspicuously, the Double-Headed Corpse Dragon.
The NPCs on these walls seemed not to find it odd at all.
They merely glanced over and didn't even ask any questions.
Even when the transmigrators made eye contact with the NPCs on the walls, they simply nodded, giving a friendly gesture.
"They really don't care about us at all~!" Di Ning Ning spoke up.
"We must be part of a system task, so these NPCs should be familiar with us," Dong Jiayue explained her guess.
"Even so, having Undead in the team still feels quite odd!" Kim Zhi He chipped in from the side.
Drawing comics also requires a plot.
Although her comic books didn't focus on logic, they still needed a basic level of it.
In a human civil war, the appearance of Orcs might be tolerated, but having a whole host of bizarre-looking Undead on the battlefield made the story hard to justify.
If this were in a comic book, it would be criticized.
"Maybe in the plot, they just want the two sides to confront each other without considering the sides' affiliations," Dong Jiayue continued.
As they chatted, they neared the city gate.
The guarding soldiers sized them up briefly along with the troops behind them.
They immediately let them in without any further scrutiny.
The fortress buildings were sparse, and along the way, they could see a blacksmith shop, a tannery, places likely to provide weapon repairs for the army.
Eventually, everyone's gaze fell on the position of the Recruitment Flag in the distance.
It was possible to recruit new types of troops now.
"Let's go, let's recruit some troops first."
Everyone headed directly towards the Recruitment Flag.
Just a few steps later, a soldier from the rebel army quickly ran over from behind.
"May I ask who is the leader of this troop? Our lord requests your presence."
Hearing these words, whether transmigrators or soldiers, all eyes simultaneously turned towards the center, where Fang Hao stood.
Without needing any introduction, the guard cut through the ranks of the Undead and approached Fang Hao, saluted first, and then said, "Leader, our lord requests your presence."
Needless to say, this was part of the mission.
Everyone still looked at Fang Hao, waiting for his decision.
Fang Hao nodded, "Jia Yue, come with me. The rest of you go to the Recruitment Flag to recruit troops, and I'll inform you of any actions once you come back."
"All right, then we'll go and queue up to recruit troops first."
The group continued towards the Recruitment Flag.
On the way, Di Ning Ning, pulling Zhen Fu Lei along, said, "How come Fu Lei addresses Dong Jiayue so intimately, are they dating? Didn't they say Fu Lei already has a girlfriend and they live together?"
Fu Lei's eyelid twitched, and after struggling for a while, he said, "Is it intimate? Don't spread rumors."
"Yes, calling her Jia Yue directly, and Dong Jiayue doesn't mind at all, the walking distance is close, there's definitely something between them," Di Ning Ning insisted confidently based on her intuition.
A few lords from neighboring territories also gathered around.
Appearing ready to gobble up the gossip.
"You'll find out later, what you see might not be true, while the truth is right before your eyes," Zhen Fu Lei said.
"What are you talking about, what truth and untruth,"
After Di Ning Ning finished speaking, she turned to Kim Zhi He and said, "Actually, I think your 'Dragon Servant Marries' shouldn't have been canceled."
Fu Lei pinched the bridge of his nose, watching the chubby young girl in front of him, thinking to himself, you really aren't afraid of death.
...
The fortress held by the guard army.
Savana and the others stood on the city wall, watching the transmigrators' army entering the fortress from afar.
Behind them was a wave of surprised murmurs.
"What's going on, a rebel army has arrived so soon."
"There's a giant dragon, it's Aerygon's team."
"No, I've seen those four-armed Undead before, they're troops under Fang Hao's command, Fang Hao hasn't died, he has entered the instance."
"Stop talking nonsense, his name has been off the leaderboard for so long, how could he suddenly appear here."
"Then you tell me, what's going on...."
The guards, originally deriding those who chose the rebel army as fools, began to fiercely debate among themselves.
Although they still didn't think the rebel army had a chance of winning.
However, their confidence in certain victory was somewhat shaken.
The enemy might really have a chance to turn the tables after all.
Savana also looked at the army entering the fortress, scrutinizing carefully, as if looking for someone in particular.
But the distance was too far; even though the contours of the troops were visible, the features and details couldn't be discerned.
Yet the unease in her heart grew stronger.
What's going on?
Could the rebel army seriously be planning a comeback under these circumstances?
"How far along is the mission?" Savana asked those behind her.
The leader of the Angel Dust Alliance said, "I just got here, it's at 69%."
"That slow?" Savana queried in disbelief.
When she first saw it, the progress of the divine awakening was at 67%.
So much time has passed, and it has also increased by two points.
The Alliance Hierarch of Angel Dust said helplessly, "Yes, the progress of the mission is too slow. According to what's stated in the mission, it might only speed up when there is combat involving deaths."
Combat involving deaths…
This acceleration in progress would only occur during a direct confrontation between the resistance army and the guardian army.
Actually, the issue is not too big.
In his mind, he recalculated the plan that followed.
He spoke softly, "Gather the high-level troops in your hands, focus on defending this side, and also bring more gunpowder and shells from the warehouse."
The leaders of the two alliances, Angel Dust and Reborn Squad Thirteen, glanced at each other.
It felt a bit premature to dispatch troops now, but they still nodded and agreed, "Okay."
...
At the resistance army camp, the central command hall.
Fang Hao, along with Dong Jiayue, strode into it.
The arrangement inside the command hall was very simple.
A few ordinary wooden chairs, and a wooden table in the middle.
It looked very rudimentary.
In the middle of the hall sat a middle-aged man with a thick beard.
He was dressed in the resistance army's attire and was very muscular.
[Gallant Pioneer - Galop (Purple Tier Five)]
A hero of purple tier five.
In the Temple mission, the guardian army featured an orange hero, and the one who ambushed them on the way was a Dark Gold Hero.
Upon reaching the resistance army, their leader was only of purple tier.
The discrepancy was quite significant.
Upon seeing Fang Hao and the others enter, the middle-aged man, Galop, revealed a smile and stood up to greet them, "Haha, welcome friends of the Alliance, welcome indeed."
Fang Hao and Dong Jiayue looked at each other, both understanding something in their eyes.
No wonder, there were no obstructions from the resistance army NPCs to other types of troops.
It turns out their identity was that of external support for the Alliance.
Meaning, they were not part of the regular resistance army, but support hired by the resistance army.
This explained why both the Undead and the Orcs could be justified.
"Commander Galop…" Fang Hao also revealed a smile.
Haha!
The middle-aged man laughed heartily and said, "Sit down, let's talk."
Fang Hao and the others also sat down nearby.
Galop introduced himself, "My name is 'Galop.' After Commander Whitely fell, I took over his position to lead the resistance army in continued combat. What should I call you two?"
Fang Hao nodded and said, "My name is Fu Lei, and this is our deputy commander, Dong Jiayue."
"Hmm." Galop nodded and continued to ask, "How many people have you brought?"
Very direct, not even the usual pleasantries exchanged.
Fang Hao estimated in his mind, there were actually nearly five hundred people in the team, each originally recruited a hundred soldiers, and after two battles, each obtained two recruitment orders.
If all were recruited, that would be about one hundred and fifty thousand.
Of course, a fair number of troops were lost in the previous battles, so he just estimated roughly.
"Just under one hundred and fifty thousand."
Galop was surprised and asked with some doubt, "How many people?"
"Just under one hundred and fifty thousand, it's a bit few, but the combat power is definitely not low."
"Really? Thank you so much brothers of the Alliance," Galop stood up excitedly and said loudly.
Fang Hao was startled, um…, it seemed that he considered it a lot of people.
"Then, how many people are there on the resistance's side exactly?" Fang Hao also asked in return.
Galop smiled helplessly and said, "After several battles, the number of our people who can continue to fight in subsequent battles is not even twenty thousand. If you hadn't shown up, we would have considered merging with other camps to launch an attack."
"Other camps?"
"Yes!" Galop gestured to the side, and two guards immediately moved the wooden table in the middle of the hall over.
Then, they spread out a map.
The map was very crudely drawn, not even as standardized as those drawn by Kim Zhi He.
But the content was still clear.
The middle position was the guardian army's city that they planned to attack, and there were several resistance army camps established in the four peripheral directions.
Galop said, "When support from the other four camps arrives, we will all attack this city together. It will also be our final battle."
That is to say, if there are transmigrators supporting the camp, it will be preserved.
If this side with transmigrators supporting the resistance fails, the camp will disband, merge with other camps, and continue the attack.
In that case, given the number of transmigrators, there should still be some transmigrator squads rushing over.
"Oh, so when is the planned time to start the attack?"
"Noon!"
Walking out of the command hall.
Dong Jiayue asked, "Why did they choose noon to launch the attack? That kind of weather doesn't offer any advantages for the assault."
Fang Hao replied, "Maybe it's to accommodate our mission timing, or possibly, it's just that the battlefield is like that, it's harder for humans to attack at night."
"Right, that makes sense."
The two made their way back to the gathering place of the transmigrators.
Under the fluttering Recruitment Flag, a few transmigrators were recruiting soldiers.
"Mr. Fu Lei, do you have any news?" someone asked, and the others also turned to look at him.
Fang Hao said, "There's a purple hero there, the commander of the resistance army, who says that at noon, they will join with other resistance camps to launch an attack."
