Glamour and Sass: A Rejected Bride's Revenge
Chapter 8: You’re my dad!

Chapter 8: You’re my dad!

Emma was suddenly lifted off the ground. She stared straight at Steven’s face, her expression full of surprise.

"Hey! I just got here."

Steven frowned, about to scold him.

Ethan, who had hurried over, quickly intervened and tried to smooth things over.

He didn’t want a headline tomorrow in the newspaper where the Lawrence heirs caused a scene here.

"Listen to your Daddy, okay? Let’s go home together!"

Hearing this, Emma, who was dressed like Alex, blinked in confusion.

"Daddy? You’re my dad!"

Steven looked puzzled. "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Emma pouted. "I want to eat cake with Daddy. I’ve never had cake with Daddy before..." Her tears rolled down as she hugged him, with the soft arms surrounding his neck.

Ethan’s eyes widened. Was this really Alex?

Steven’s heart softened as he realized he hadn’t paid enough attention to Alex, and a sense of guilt crept over him.

He nodded, picked Emma up, and went to place their order.

Meanwhile, Cecilia went down to the bar and saw Alex, dressed up like Emma, eating ice cream peacefully.

She approached him, wondering why her ‘daughter’ was so well-behaved today.

Cecilia walked over and leaned against Alex, gently wiping the ice cream stains from his mouth.

"You ran so fast, Mommy couldn’t even catch up with you."

‘Mommy?’

Alex looked up curiously as Cecilia reached over to fix his hat.

"You just had to wear a hat out, did you? Hmm, but why have I never seen this one before...?"

Alex teared up in a second. "So you’re my mommy..."

Cecilia frowned and said, "What’s gotten into you today, sweetheart? Do you want your favorite cream puffs? I’ll go buy them for you."

He nodded, and she gently touched his head before leaving.

Emma, on the other hand, happily devoured her ice cream after finishing the cake.

Steven wondered how much Emma could eat, given she already ate so much.

After finishing her ice cream, she burped in satisfaction.

"I’m full, Daddy. Let’s go find Mommy and go home together."

Steven was surprised by her words.

"Mommy?"

He instantly became alert in mind.

Emma stood on her seat, seeing Cecilia ordering food at the counter.

“Look, Mommy is over there.”

He reluctantly followed where she was pointing, also seeing Cecilia.

Cecilia tapped her fingers lightly on the counter, occasionally glancing around.

She didn’t notice that the people around had been staring at her.

All of a sudden, Steven seemed to realize something. He grabbed Emma’s shoulder with a serious look.

"Did that woman ask you to call her Mommy?"

Emma nodded in confusion.

“You don’t have a Mommy. Don’t trust that mean woman!”

Hearing this, she was angry.

"She is my Mommy, so don’t call her a mean woman! If you’re going to call her that, I don’t want you as my dad!"

Then, she jumped off the chair and disappeared into the crowd, leaving Steven helpless and chasing after her.

Unable to catch Emma, Steven happened to bump into Alex, who was looking for Cecilia. Seeing Steven, Alex urgently pushed him aside, only to realize Cecilia wasn’t there any longer.

His eyes fell in disappointment as he muttered, "Let’s go home."

Steven sighed as he lifted Alex up. "Ok, let’s go home."

Alex seemed confused. "Why are you carrying me?"

"You asked me to carry you just now, didn’t you?"

?

Alex looked blank, but he let Steven carry him to the door.

As they reached it, looking at the next door, he finally couldn’t hold back.

"Dad, I think I’ve found Mom."

Steven’s eyebrows furrowed. "I told you, she’s not the one. She’s a daughter of the Morrison family trying to use you..."

Alex shook his head and said, "She stays here, right?"

Steven was momentarily speechless, looking to the next door.

"If you see her with your own eyes, will you believe me?"

After hesitating for a moment, Alex nodded solemnly.

Seeing his reaction, Steven was confused and also hesitant. He couldn’t understand why Alex was acting like this.

Was she actually different from other women?

In a daze, he went to Cecilia’s room and rang the doorbell.

Inside the room, Cecilia had just finished showering. She thought Edwin was here to send some clothes over, she continued blow-drying her hair and called out to Emma.

“Emma, go open the door for Uncle Edwin.”

However, Emma’s puzzled voice caught her attention.

"Mommy, it’s not Uncle Edwin."

She became wary as she asked, "Then who is it?"

"It’s me," a seductive voice replied.
