The moment Sophie spoke up, everyone looked at her.

There were already several of Riane’s fans live-streaming the event, which had attracted quite a big audience.

Sophie wanted to humiliate Cecilia in front of everyone.

As expected, murmurs and laughter began to spread around the room.

“A mute in a singing contest? That’s funny.”

“Isn’t this supposed to be a comedy instead? The comedy show’s next door, haha!”

Cecilia snorted coldly.

“Mute? I think you’re the deaf one.”

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it was audible enough for everyone around.

Sophie was obviously prepared, sneering disdainfully as she raised her voice again.

“Who in Star City doesn’t know that you used to be mute, Cecilia?”

She circled Cecilia, speaking with a hateful tone.

“Riane is the mystery judge here; someone like you isn’t qualified to be here. You better leave now if you’re smart!”

The crowd burst into laughter.

“So she’s Cecilia, the woman whom the Kingsleys dumped for cheating.”

“She actually has the face to join this show without any embarrassment.”

Listening to the crowd’s mockery, Sophie smiled in satisfaction.

Cecilia wasn’t interested in the show and didn’t want to argue here.

“This fraud program isn’t worth my time. Only someone like you, who needs fame to survive, would find it important. Unfortunately, you’ll never become the real me.”

With that, Cecilia turned to leave. She had hit the nail on the head, and Sophie was infuriated.

“Cecilia, stop being so proud. I’m telling you; I’ll defeat you completely in front of Riane today!”

Sophie stole the microphone from the staff member.

“If you have the guts, let’s contest right now!”

The surrounding people urged them on, making Sophie feel pleased with herself.

After all, she had been taking vocal lessons to surpass Cecilia. She had been practicing hard just to see her idol face-to-face.

Moreover, she didn’t believe someone who had been mute for twenty years could sing well.

As she thought of this, she took a glance backstage.

She wanted to use this opportunity to get Riane’s attention.

Sophie grabbed the microphone. “What, stepping out so soon? Just go home and be your bastard child’s good mother!”

She picked up a microphone nearby, her tone cold.

“Sophie, if you lose, you will kneel and apologize to me and my child.”

Seeing the hostility in Cecilia’s eyes, Sophie was slightly scared.

“Showdown! Showdown!”

The crowd began to cheer, and Sophie gritted her teeth. “Fine. You’d better leave Star City forever if you lose!”

Cecilia sneered, and then Sophie began to sing.

After completing a song, even people from the nearby studio came over.

To be fair, she certainly had some talent. After so many years of practice, she was indeed qualified to win such competitions.

At the studio, Sophie lost miserably with 0 votes. Cecilia glanced at her coldly and said, “Kneel and apologize.”
