Alex thought, ‘My dear sister, did you forget you’re posing as me right now?’

On the other hand, Steven had reached his limit.

He initially thought Cecilia’s appearance at the restaurant was her only plan. At the same time, he had been looking for Riane everywhere as he loved her music.

Despite that, nobody dared to charm him using Riane’s songs.

Because people fear him.

He had once warned that if anyone impersonated Riane for attention, he would make them deeply regret it. This had kept Riane’s identity anonymous; many people would’ve posed as her for profit by now.

However, this woman dared to impersonate Riane in front of Alex just to win him over. It seemed she had a death wish!

Cecilia, distracted throughout dinner, suddenly heard Emma call her and thought it was Alex across from her. She smiled and responded, "Yes, it’s your favorite song."

Alex quickly nodded, awkwardly agreeing.

Steven stood up abruptly, his commanding voice enough to produce chills.

"Enough!"

Cecilia snapped back to reality at his voice.

Emma realized she had messed up terribly, nearly revealing their identity. On the other hand, Alex calmly thought of a solution. He pulled his hat lower and dashed out with Emma, taking advantage of the dim lighting.

Cecilia was startled, unsure why her daughter suddenly ran off. She hurried to follow.

"Where are you going? Wait for Mommy!"

However, Steven blocked her path, motioning the violinist to leave. The restaurant manager, understanding the cue, discreetly dismissed all the staff.

Cecilia looked up and saw his indifferent face in the dim light.

It was this guy again.

She spoke in annoyance, "Is there something you need, Mr. Lawrence?"

Steven snorted, his cold tone enough to freeze anyone.

"Miss Morrison, I’ve had enough. I’ve already given you many chances; if you approach Alex again, I’ll kick you out of Star City permanently.."

Cecilia was confused.

‘What the heck is wrong with this guy?’

She didn’t want to deal with Steven. She was only worried about Emma, who didn’t know Star City well.

She retorted coldly, "Get out of my way. For the last time, I have no interest in you Lawrences—especially not you, Mr. Steven Lawrence."

With that, she turned to leave.

Steven said behind her, "And don’t let me catch you using Riane’s music to win me over again. You’re unworthy of her music."

Cecilia was getting more annoyed, giving a final cold reply, "You’re too full of yourself. Riane despises people like you the most."

Then, she left without looking back.

Steven’s gaze turned deeper.

This woman was truly strange—she was acting friendly with Alex, but she remained cold toward him. What was her plan here? Was she playing hard to get?

‘Alright, let’s see how long you can keep this up. I’ll play along!’

Outside the restaurant, Emma and Alex crouched in a corner at the window while watching their parents. Seeing their mother angrily preparing to leave, their moods deflated.

Alex scratched his head, puzzled.

"It’s so weird. Dad loves Riane’s music the most. Why was he so angry this time?"

Emma was about to say something when she spotted Cecilia coming out. She hurried back to the restaurant.

"Forget it; Mommy’s leaving. I’ll go back inside so Daddy won’t get suspicious. Let’s talk through our watches tonight to see if there’s a new plan."

Alex nodded firmly. "Okay!"

Cecilia left the restaurant and saw Alex waiting obediently at the door, her face exasperated.

"Why didn’t you wait for Mommy?"

Alex blinked innocently. "It was too stuffy inside."

She lightly tapped his nose, her tone affectionate as she replied, "I really can’t handle you sometimes. Are you full now?"

She looked around and saw a dessert shop nearby.

"Do you want a strawberry cake?"

Alex replied without hesitation, "No."

Cecilia was a bit surprised. After all, Emma had always been a strawberry cake enthusiast.

Still unsure, she asked again, "Are you sure you don’t want any?"

Then, she gently patted Alex’s head. "Are you feeling unwell? Isn’t strawberry cake your favorite?"
