Chapter 74: Meeting Traitor

Chapter 74: Meeting Traitor

"Shit!"

Master Aaron and Old Man Aragon felt movement from a nearby tunnel, and although they were suppressing their aura to hide as much as possible, they couldn’t be sure enemies hadn’t noticed them.

"Quick, this way."

Old Man Aragon moved quickly, changed direction, and went to the other tunnel to throw those pursuers behind.

Apollo and Master Aaron, accompanied by the alchemy puppets, silently followed his lead and swiftly entered the adjacent tunnel.

On the other side was a team of seven warriors who seemed to be searching for Ragnar.

"Hmm."

"What happened? Did you find something?"

One of the guys seemed to have noticed something and nodded his head.

They immediately became alert and then moved forward to face any enemy.

But as they moved ahead, they didn’t see anyone and looked at the person with sensory abilities.

"They seemed to have moved ahead in another tunnel, and they seemed to have quite a lot of people in this group."

"According to the foot prints, there are more than ten people in that group. So it cannot be Young Lord Ragnar."

Hearing this, all of their expressions became a bit grave, as even if they do not know the individual strength of the group, they still have the numbers, and confronting them head-on can be dangerous for them.

"Boss, what should we do? Follow or not?"

The leader started to think, and after thinking for a moment, he made his decision.

"Don’t follow them; our goal is to find Ragnar; meaningless confrontation is unnecessary."

"And inform others about this group moving in the tunnels to be careful about it."

"Yes!"

With that, they moved forward and continued their search in the underground tunnels.

On the other side, Apollo and others felt relieved, as it seemed the other team wasn’t going to follow them.

"Look, they aren’t going to follow us."

"Yes, it’s a relief."

Old Man Aragon and Master Aaron felt at ease seeing this.

Apollo remained silent, secretly relieved by the turn of events. He had no desire for a confrontation, even with the protection of numerous alchemy puppets. He knew everyone out there surpassed his abilities unless he resorted to unleashing his secret transformation.

But he didn’t want people to know about it, even if it was his master, as he had a feeling that if his secret was known to others, it would bring catastrophe to him and his family.

The three continued their journey while numerous guys poured into the underground tunnels as the search for Ragnar reached its peak.

As well as Ragnar, who had crossed half of the tunnels and was moving towards the outside.

"Hehe, where are you running? We have a lot to discuss."

"What!"

A creepy laugh came with a bone-chilling aura, shocking the running Ragnar.

"Who? Show yourself."

He shouted, feeling a bit panicked as to how somebody found him in these weird tunnels that interfere with his long-distance sensing ability.

Nobody should have found him unless... he was somehow marked. His mind quickly thought of various methods and came to this conclusion.

From the shadows of the dark tunnels, two figures appeared that surprised him, as one of them was someone who was very close to him.

"Niara!"

He couldn’t help but yell her name, seeing her here. But it wasn’t because he felt happy; it was because the guy standing next to him was one of the guys who attacked the City Hall Mansion.

"What are you doing here with the enemy here?"

Ragnar couldn’t contain his roar as he confronted her, despite his understanding of the implications of her presence with the other man. He questioned her, struggling to comprehend her motives for such actions.

"Haha, what else? She was always one of us. Sadly, the girl you liked was a traitor, but to let you feel better, her pu**y was great, and I enjoyed every bit of it."

Instead of her, the young guy beside her answered as he held her waist and gripped her ass to pull her close.

"Ahh! No, darling, what are you doing?"

Niara shyly said she felt embarrassed by the sudden intimate act. But she didn’t try to stop or struggle, which showed that the person’s words might be true.

"Damm you, slut!"

He couldn’t hold back his curses as he witnessed the girl he once admired reveal herself as a traitor and a whore. In his mind, he couldn’t fathom why he ever harboured feelings for such a woman. He pondered whether he had been under some bizarre spell or had taken some weird sh*t to lose his senses entirely.

"Don’t look at me like that; we were never close; all I did was just a job of seducing an idiot who couldn’t be even confident enough to f**k a girl."

"I just needed to say some good things, and you spilled many secrets about the City Hall Mansion, so it’s all your fault for being an idiot."

Upon hearing such an insult, an extreme rage consumed him, and a single thought of killing this bit*h flashed through his mind.

He quickly activated a small runic scroll without letting her notice anything about it.

"Die!"

Immediately, a Fourth-Rank Grandmaster-level attack appeared and attacked Niara.

"What!"

She was caught by such surprise, but the guy beside her seemed to have expected this, and an armour appeared on his body that glowed with golden light and covered both of them.

Boom!

The attack collided with the golden barrier, creating a large explosion and even shaking numerous underground tunnels.

"You, coward!"

As the dust settled, she screamed at Ragnar, but he was already gone, taking advantage of the explosion.

"Tch! Look like he still didn’t lose his mind."

Upon witnessing Ragnar’s flight, a smile crept across his face, as he could track him down again with the cursed mark.

"Run as far as you can, but survival will elude you still. I eagerly anticipate witnessing the despair and hopelessness etched upon your face."

"Come, let’s hasten; we cannot risk him being discovered by another group first. Years of meticulous planning would be for nought otherwise, and the merit rightfully belongs to me."

Ragnar appeared at a far distance in some tunnel as he used a special magic scroll to run. He knew that the guy with the bit*h was strong, and when he appeared in City Hall, his status didn’t seem to be low.

He should have had many life-saving means and trump cards, so he didn’t waste time and ran. Now wasn’t the time for his revenge on that bit*h.

But the attack alarmed many other groups who were also searching for him as they moved in that direction.

Apollo’s group of three also felt the tremors and increased their speed in another direction, following the map of the Old Man Aragon’s master.

But in a few moments, he felt another life force that seemed to be coming towards them quickly. They were ready to battle, but at first, they tried to continue their route to leave the person or group behind.

But their pursuer persisted, compelling them to confront one another. Upon assessing the adversary’s formidable strength, they would determine their course of action, whether to engage or lure them into a nearby trap.

They waited, hiding their aura, ready to do a sneak attack to kill the enemy quickly without wasting any time.

Master Aaron took out his sword and concentrated his mind as he was the fastest person, and even fourth-rank limit-breakers could not react to his sneak attack.

Slowly, they felt the weak life that was coming closer to them.

"Ready!"

The moment the guy came in, he was about to attack, but at that, Old Man Aragon shouted.

"Stop!" And master Aaron stopped as slowly the figure appeared.

"Ragnar!"

"Brother Aragon!"

Both exclaimed seeing one another in this place, as this was truly unexpected for them to meet.

Apollo and Master Aaron also quickly came out and met with the Young City Lord.

"Ragnar, what are you doing here, and why are you following us?"

"Ah! Following Brother Aragon? I wasn’t following you; I was following the map my father gave me.’

He quickly took out the map, which was identical to the map Old Man Argon had.

They immediately understood that the master of Old Man Aragon must have given the same map to the City Lord. And since they were following the same map, it appeared that he was following them.

"So, how is your father’s situation? Is he alright?" Old man Aragon changed the topic and asked.

"I’m unsure; I had to flee early in the battle, and even now, countless people are still pursuing me."

Ragnar said all he knew, but since he had to leave early, he didn’t know much.

"Then, follow us; we are going to leave this place."

Although Old Man Aragon knows that they will have trouble bringing him with them, he still cannot leave him alone.
