Chapter 332: Strengthened Book Of Death
This wasn’t the end; after devouring the last bit of the soul, the book of death burst out with a mysterious aura that instantly let him feel enlightenment, and his rule of death started to rise rapidly again.
In that instant, countless streams of enlightenment flowed into his mind, surging like a tidal wave.
Each droplet was dense with the experiences, insights, and understandings of the fragmented soul— memories of death battles, destruction of countless worlds, mastery over countless lifespans, and comprehension of death’s finality across eons.
Apollo’s Rule of Death, which had just barely stepped into the first layer, began to tremble violently. The invisible chains that bound his comprehension started to crack.
Crack! Crack!
Within seconds, his Rule of Death, which any ordinary genius might have spent hundreds or thousands of years cultivating, began to rise at a monstrous speed—First Layer... Half-Step Second Layer... Second Layer... Rising still...
His soul shook under the impact.
The black lotuses behind him bloomed faster, growing denser and more refined. Each petal seemed to become a universe of death on its own, swirling with profound mysteries.
The fragmented soul had been a mighty being above the eternal god realm, standing at heights even legendary geniuses could even dream of. And now, all that legacy... was Apollo’s.
His understanding of the rule of death reached the peak of the second layer before stopping. He was just a step away from the third layer, and all he needed was a bit of time to sort things out that he felt just now and then, and he would naturally break through the third layer.
Reaching the heights that are even rare among beings that surpassed eternal god ranks.
"Death... is not just an end. It is a supremacy over all things that exist and fade."
Apollo’s entire being seemed to breathe with this truth.
In the material world, Sara and Clark fell to their knees unconsciously. Even though they couldn’t see the full truth of what just happened to Apollo, the aura he was releasing made them feel as if they were ants standing before a collapsing mountain.
They shivered, not in fear, but in reverence. They felt as if two were witnessing the birth of a new Death Sovereign.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity and yet only a few breaths, Apollo opened his eyes. A thin smile curved his lips as he whispered under his breath.
"Not bad."
After opening his eyes, he immediately didn’t leave this place but first checked what had changed in the Book of Death.
The moment Apollo turned his attention inward, the Book of Death, as if sensing its master’s gaze, floated silently in front of his soul form. Its surface had changed.
He reached out with his soul, and the book opened willingly, its pages fluttering on their own.
A new page seemed to have appeared. He quickly looked at the page which had a sickle-like symbol.
Words started to appear on it, which he could only understand.
The page shimmered with ethereal black light as the words formed, not written with ink, but etched into the world itself—each stroke a manifestation of divine authority.
"Sickle of Death".
A phantom image of the sickle materialised above the page, its curved blade dark as the void, gleaming with an edge that could sever souls, even fate.
The air grew still around Apollo, as if the world itself dared not interrupt this moment.
More text followed, written in ancient death script.
"Sickle of Death".
’The divine weapon once wielded by the Lord of Death himself. Forged in the dying breath of a universe. It contains the origin of death and the authority to sever all things.’
’Summon the phantom of the Sickle of Death to reap your enemies. Enemies of the same realm shall fall instantly.’
’One swing silences destiny. One cut erases the divine.’
Reading this, he felt he had another trump card. But what surprised him more was that the strength of the chimaera that he could summon now had reached the Eternal God realm directly.
Although it is just an early-stage eternal god, the chimaera is a true, unkillable monster now. It can even regenerate with even a single drop of blood.
From what he remembers, its strength barely reached the void god realm before, but after devouring the power of the ancient soul, its cultivation directly surpassed two whole realms.
Apollo closed the book slowly, reverently. He didn’t test the weapon. He didn’t need to. After all this, he calmly looked behind, noticing the shocked and terrified expressions of Clark and Sara.
"What? Am I that terrifying?"
The two nodded instinctively—then snapped out of it, shaking their heads rapidly as if trying to take back their unconscious honesty.
Apollo chuckled softly.
If before he had carried a mysterious aura, now he wore something different. Something heavier.
A presence—silent, cold, and suffocating like a tomb sealed for eternity. It pressed against their instincts, whispering that they were standing in front of something that should not be defied.
But he only smiled.
"Alright, alright. I won’t tease anymore." He cast one final glance around the chamber.
"Let’s go. Looks like we got everything this place had to offer."
Then the group quickly left the chamber and the ancient building, as they all have improved a lot.
Sara and Clark broke through the true god realm, and for himself, not only did he reach the peak of the void god, but he also understood the death rule of the second layer and also improved the book of death.
The moment they came out of the ancient and magnificent building, it collapsed right in front of their eyes.
Seeing this, they weren’t surprised but calmly walked away and continued their journey in the primordial Sanctum.
Throughout the Sanctum, other prodigies and rising stars faced their own trials. Some stumbled upon ancient relics or long-lost inheritances, their power surging with every moment. Others weren’t so fortunate. Some lost companions; others barely escaped with their lives.
Yet among them, Apollo’s group now moved differently.
Not with arrogance—but with quiet certainty. Because Apollo was in their group, and the two of them believed that no matter what kind of troubles they faced, it could be solved by him.
