Chapter 288: War ends
A chill ran down Apollo’s spine.
Something had locked onto him.
From the depths of the Abyss, beyond the battlefield, beyond even the limits of this realm—a pair of silver eyes opened.
Cold. Indifferent. Absolutely.
Then—BOOM!
Reality collapsed.
The appearance of such a person even shocked the Abyssal side, as they didn’t seem to know this entity. Also, the person, just like the Abyssal Lord, hadn’t fully descended; his aura wasn’t at all weak compared to the Lord of Abyss.
"You!!!" The voice echoed and shattered the void, and instantly he felt everything collapse. His soul seemed to be about to collapse, but a mysterious aura was quickly released by the senior orb to help him, and he calmed down.
"Run away." Senior Orb, he quickly urged.
The Sovereign expression also changed; even the Abyss Lord felt surprised as to why he would suddenly appear when even for eons he didn’t move at all. He felt weird and looked at running Apollo in the distance and felt shocked, feeling the mysterious aura of space-time around.
He tried to figure out everything, but when he tried to see through his past and future, he felt something terrifying that he had to stop looking.
"What is this? How could there be something like this?" He felt shocked.
The sovereign felt that both of them seemed to have noticed Apollo, and he had to stop two of them, as otherwise he wouldn’t be able to leave.
BOOM!
The Black Lotus of Flames bloomed once more, its petals unfurling like a celestial calamity, consuming the very concept of darkness itself. At the same time, he unleashed an earth-shattering flame barrier, cutting off Apollo from the sight of these terrifying entities.
The black flames covered the half-world, protecting the lives of inhabitants of the Flame Sovereign’s realm as no abyssal monsters or entities were able to pierce through it.
The Black Flame Sovereign stood at the centre of it all, his presence like an unshakable pillar amid the chaos. The Black Lotus of Flames had fully bloomed, its petals exuding an overwhelming heat that devoured even the essence of the Abyss.
The sky burned black.
The land quivered beneath an unimaginable pressure. Even the Abyssal Monarchs hesitated as flames seemed to burn their indestructible bodies.
Even those from the Abyss, mindless beings who thrived in corruption and destruction and were afraid of death, could not push forward. The barrier of black flames was not merely a defence—it was a separation of realms, a rejection of all abyssal existence.
And yet—BOOM!
A hand, vast beyond comprehension, once again reached forth.
Unlike before, it did not tear through space.
It ignored space.
A silver, ethereal appendage—unlike the abyssal monstrosities—emerged from the nothingness beyond time. And it did not belong to the Abyssal Lord.
And then—Apollo, still running for his life, felt everything freeze.
"What...?"His soul was being pulled.
A force unlike any he had ever known—not darkness, not fire, not time, nor space—but something far beyond comprehension reached for him.
But Black Flame sovereign placed the most importance on Apollo’s life, and instantly the most land of the Flame sovereign realm exploded and burst out with terrifying flames and shattering the void around, even disrupting the space-time, making it difficult for the vast hand of the mysterious entity to reach Apollo.
The hand was finally stopped as the flames created by sacrificing half of the Sovereign realm barely halted the mysterious entity’s attack.
"Run." He heard the voice.
Apollo ran with every ounce of his strength and even dared to look back towards the space portal that was still working.
"No, you cannot run."
"Stop him; he is the key. Use your all strength" The other silver-eyed entity seemed to roar as it seemed to be telling the Abyss Lord.
Hearing this, Abyss Lord was shocked and instantly exploded with stronger strength without holding back anything. And even the mysterious entity also seemed to use his terrifying strength.
"Boom!"
The combined strength of both of them seemed to reach unimaginable heights, and even almost all of the abyss army seemed to be destroyed by just the oppressive world-ending aura.
The half-destroyed world itself screamed.
The Flame Sovereign Realm, already on the brink of collapse, began to shatter at a terrifying rate.
The remaining skies cracked like fragile glass. The land crumbled into the void. Rivers of magma twisted into vortexes, spiralling toward destruction. Even the invincible Black Lotus of Flames flickered under the combined might of the Abyssal Lord and the unknown silver entity.
"You both are not going to succeed." Sovereign roared as his aura seemed to climb to unimaginable heights as if he alone seemed to shoulder the aura of two terrifying powers from the abyss.
"Hmm." Both of them noticed this felt surprising, as his strength shouldn’t be this strong, but they understood as they noticed the fluctuating aura.
"Crazy, you are burning your source power." Lord of Abyss said as he felt surprised."If you didn’t stop, you would die permanently; even your immortal flame would perish with you."
The Flame Sovereign did not answer.
He simply burned.
His once boundless, eternal flames—his very essence—were now devouring themselves, fueling a power beyond his limits.
The abyss trembled.
Even the Abyssal Lord—a being that devoured worlds—took an instinctive step back. The silver-eyed entity narrowed its gaze, sensing something truly irreversible.
This was no mere battle.
This was a self-imposed annihilation.
"Flame Sovereign, you are mad!" The lord of the abyss roared.
And for the first time, the Flame Sovereign laughed.
It was a hoarse, burning sound—one that seared itself into the very fabric of existence."If it means that you fail—"The Black Lotus of Flames bloomed once more.
But this time—it was not just a shield.
It was a pyre.
"Run away. From now on, you will be the leader." Sovereign’s voice echoed as he looked at the Golden Flame lord, who was now safe behind the Black Flame walls.
The Black Lotus burned for the final time, a flame that would never be extinguished—because it would consume even itself to nothingness.
Apollo, using his space rule after receiving the protection of Sovereign, reached the portal along with countless others who also looked at the Sovereign for the final time.
The Flame Sovereign stood alone.
Behind him, the world he created and swore to protect—the countless beings who had called this place home—were already retreating, vanishing into the ancient portals, their figures swallowed by the golden light of escape.
The Golden Flame Lord, now safe beyond the Black Flame Wall, trembled. His fists clenched, his heart burned—but he understood.
This was an order.
A burden.
A final will.
And then—
The Black Lotus of Flames bloomed one last time.
BOOM!
Flames that burned beyond eternity—
A fire that consumed even itself.
A pyre of absolute destruction.
The Sovereign Realm could not withstand it.
Cracks spread like veins across the sky, through space itself, as if reality wept and shattered beneath the weight of the sacrifice.
But Apollo did not turn back.
He could not. He pushed forward—faster, farther, escaping through the portal just as it began to collapse behind him.
Countless others followed along with three flame lords and numerous leaders of clans, their gazes lingering on the sovereign’s final stand, their souls burned with grief, awe, and helplessness.
"NOO!!! Stop it." Abyssal Lord roared as he needed the Black Lotus flame, but if the source was burned, it would fully disappear from the universe.
And then—
The portal shattered.
And the Flame Sovereign realm was no more.
On the other side of the portal, the surviving group landed in an unknown land, far removed from the world they once called home.
The air here was different—colder, heavier, and unfamiliar. Towering mountains loomed in the distance, shrouded in mist, while a vast, dark ocean stretched endlessly beyond the horizon. The sky was painted in hues they had never seen before, as if even the heavens mourned the destruction they had just witnessed.
But none of them paid attention to their surroundings.
They stood in silence, eyes still locked onto the place where the portal had once been—where their world had just ceased to exist.
Their home was gone.
Their sovereign was gone.
An unbearable emptiness settled into their hearts.
Some fell to their knees, fists clenched against the ground. Others simply stood frozen, their eyes hollow, their minds struggling to process the reality of their loss.
The Golden Flame Lord closed his eyes, his hands trembling as he felt the weight of the Sovereign’s final words settle fully upon him.
He was their leader now.
But how could he lead a people who had just lost everything?
Apollo stood there calmly with Senior Orb, as he didn’t know what to do, as it seemed Sovereign didn’t survive, which meant he might have failed to clear the task. Could he really be stuck here forever and never return to his timeline?
He was lost in such thoughts, but as he was feeling unsure of what to do from now on, he felt a familiar aura.
