Chapter 278: 99% Space Law
"Do you want to try now?" Senior Orb asked, to which he quickly agreed.
"Yes, please."
The Senior Orb pulsed in approval, its glow intensifying as it prepared to activate the Infinite Void World Stone. "Good," it said. "Then let us begin."
As soon as Apollo placed his hand on the stone, a surge of pure, unfiltered Space Rule engulfed him. His vision blurred, and an overwhelming force pulled at his very existence. It was as if he were being unravelled and rebuilt at the same time, drawn into a world beyond ordinary comprehension.
Then, everything changed around him.
He immediately found himself standing on an isolated floating platform, surrounded by an endless void. The air—if it could even be called that—was thick with the mysteries of space, bending and twisting unpredictably. Ahead of him, a shimmering barrier of translucent layers stretched into infinity, each one filled with a unique resonance.
"This is the first layer," the Senior Orb’s voice echoed distantly, though Apollo could feel no physical presence beside him. "It is the simplest distortion of space, meant to test your basic foundation. Cross it using only the laws and rules of space."
He exhaled slowly, centering himself. His strength was already strong enough to clear the first layer easily through brute force, but here, no other forces could aid him. He had to comprehend, manipulate, and step through space itself to progress.
Focusing, he extended his senses, feeling the subtle ripples in the layer before him. It wasn’t just a wall—it was a fold in space, like the surface of water reflecting an unseen depth. He reached out, adjusting his space laws to match it.
It took him a second, and instantly he seemed to merge with the first layer as he quickly understood its structure and resonated with it, and then with a single step seemed to cross the barrier like it was there.
The moment he crossed, he felt various space law fragments surround him and were absorbed by him increasing his understanding of space.
"Hmm, a bit weak." He murmured, but he understood that it was the first layer and even be cleared by people who understood ten per cent space, not to mention who were nearly ninety per cent reaching the perfection of space law.
Apollo didn’t linger. His eyes locked onto the second layer ahead—a distortion far more refined than the first. The subtle ripples in space were more intricate, shifting unpredictably as though trying to evade his perception.
He exhaled again, trying to understand every detail and adapting.
If the first layer had been like stepping into a still pond, this one was akin to walking on a flowing river—constantly changing, resisting his movement. He needed more than just brute understanding; he had to synchronize with the shifting currents of space itself.
Closing his eyes, he allowed his spatial perception to expand, feeling and finding the rhythm of the distortions. A moment later, he took a step—not forward, but through.
Like an illusion dissolving, the second layer vanished.
The sensation of absorbing space law fragments returned, but Apollo frowned. The increase was noticeable, but nothing significant to him. Still too weak.
At that time, the voice of senior Orb came to his mind, "It is just a beginning; the first one hundred eight layers are the foundation for the space law. You will find it difficult after reaching the eightieth layer in your current understanding."
"Only crossing the first major barrier at the one-hundred-eighth layer could you understand the space rule."
Apollo nodded slightly, his expression unreadable. He had expected as much—true challenges never came so easily.
His steps quickened. The third, fourth, and fifth layers fell before him like fragile glass shattering under his will. With each step, he felt his understanding of space becoming more fluid, more natural—like a second instinct rather than an active effort.
His understanding deepened, and he could clearly feel the improvement in his strength. If he now faced an enemy who had the same level of understanding of space as him, he could be sure to win it easily.
Even if they are at the same level of understanding, there are still subtle differences in how they use it and how deep their foundation is. These early layers were increasing his understanding of space foundations at a very deep level, making it easier to reach a higher level.
He already started to feel he might break through ninety per cent after clearing a few more layers and reaching the perfection level of space laws.
It was no longer about just seeing distortions and countering them. The way he moved, breathed and even thought was subtly shifting.
The twentieth layer passed.
The fiftieth soon followed.
Each layer became less of an obstacle and more of a lesson, a refinement process.
But as he approached the seventieth, he felt it. And without any trouble, naturally broke through 90% of the space law, reaching the perfection level of space law.
The moment his understanding improved the process of his crossing different layers also increased a bit and he quickly crossed the ninetieth layer. But the moment he arrived at the ninety-first layer, the difficulty increased, and the spatial structure of the layer became more difficult and mysterious.
Apollo’s footsteps came to a halt as he observed the ninety-first layer. Unlike before, where the layers had been mere barriers to overcome, this one exuded an almost living presence, as though space itself was resisting him.
His sharp gaze studied the intricate, interwoven folds of space before him. The structure was far more complex, layered in ways that defied simple perception. It was no longer a matter of just merging with space or manipulating its flow—this layer demanded deeper comprehension.
"So, this is where the real challenge begins."
He extended his senses, probing the structure carefully. Each fold in space was not just a single distortion but a network of interlinked paths, twisting and warping together like an endless maze. Stepping forward recklessly would result in being trapped within the very fabric of space itself.
But Apollo didn’t hesitate. His perfection-level comprehension of Space Law allowed him to swiftly recognize patterns and to see the fundamental principles governing this structure. He adjusted his resonance, attuning himself to the deeper mysteries of space, not just the surface-level distortions.
He feels every simple subtle difference of space and tries to understand everything deeply and seems to be lost in it. He remained like this for ten minutes and finally took a step, feeling he understood what this ninety-first layer had to offer.
A shift. A step.
And just like that, the ninety-first layer crumbled before him, giving him a deeper understanding of space.
Yet, the moment he crossed, his pupils contracted.
The ninety-second layer was even more complex. The distortions didn’t just exist in one plane—they overlapped, stacked upon each other in multiple dimensions, creating an illusion of infinite space.
But he didn’t hesitate and quickly started to understand the deep mysteries of this layer and improve his understanding.
It took him almost twenty minutes before he finally figured out everything and was able to cross this layer. Although the difficulty and time taken have increased exponentially, the improvement also is worth it.
His just newly breakthrough space law already showed improvement and was rising towards 91% of space law.
He forgot everything and only focused on continuing to move forward without caring about time and steadily he crossed the 93rd.. 94th, 95th, 96th.... to 107th layer.
With his space law, it also continued to improve 91%, 92%, 93% and continued to increase and reached 99% percent, just one per cent away from reaching one hundred percent and fully transforming into a space rule that even veterans’ true gods didn’t understand.
Apollo stood before the 108th layer, his breath steady, his mind sharper than ever. His comprehension of space law had surged to 99%. It had already been three days since he started to break and understand this layer within the infinite void world stone.
Yet, as he faced the final layer of the foundational trial, he knew—this was different from the previous layer, as this was the first major checkpoint and the first major transformation of space law into space rule.
The space before him was absolutely chaotic.
Unlike the structured distortions of previous layers, this was pure, unrestricted space, twisting in paradoxical ways that defied even his sharpened senses.
There was no logic. No pattern.
It was raw, primordial space, the very essence of the Infinite Void itself.
"So this is the true first step toward understanding the Space Rule."
His blue eyes flickered with deep contemplation. This was not a barrier he could force his way through. It was a test of fundamental understanding, the difference between a law and a rule.
A law was something that existed and could be followed.
A rule was something that governed existence itself.
If he wanted to cross, he had to become one with space itself. And made himself the existence that governs the rules that don’t just simply follow the nature but enforce brand new things in it.
Slowly, Apollo closed his eyes.
