Chapter 233: Lunar Moon’s Core
The one leading the group stepped forward, a figure with a royal bearing and eyes like frozen stars. They bowed deeply, their voices echoing with deference. "Master Apollo, we are the Guardians of the Lunar Moon, chosen to serve and protect this domain—and now, to serve you."
Apollo’s gaze swept over them, his surprise evident. "Guardians?"
Eldarion chuckled softly. "Lunar Moon isn’t just a place to comprehend the Lunar Moon Law; there’s much more to it. In fact, the faint presence of the law you sensed outside is merely a byproduct."
"The true essence lies at its core, the most critical part of this place. It produces Lunar Essence, a substance that aids gods in understanding the law at the conceptual level—a level only gods can reach. It is the source of their power and their eternal life."
"Many gods from the Sky Tower spent their hard-earned points in hundreds or thousands of years to get that Lunar Essence so that you can guess this place’s importance."
Apollo’s eyes narrowed slightly, his mind racing as Eldarion’s words settled in. The mention of Lunar Essence struck him with both awe and intrigue. It was a substance capable of aiding gods to comprehend the law at a conceptual level? Such a resource was beyond anything he’d ever imagined possessing, let alone controlling.
"So, this Lunar Moon produces a resource that even gods covet?" Apollo asked, his tone steady despite the enormity of what he had just learned.
Eldarion nodded, his calm smile unwavering. "Indeed, Sir Apollo. Lunar essence is an unparalleled treasure, its rarity exceeding that of most heavenly materials found in the cosmos. It crystallizes directly from the Lunar Core, the heart of this celestial body."
"That is why the Guardians needed to exist—to ensure its protection and to serve the one worthy of controlling such a domain."
After that, quickly the leader and others introduced themselves.
The leader of the Guardians, still exuding an air of icy authority, took a step forward. "I am Varien, the Captain of the Lunar Guardians," he said, his voice resonating with confidence and deference. "We are honoured to serve you, Master Apollo."
One by one, the other Guardians stepped forward, introducing themselves with pride and respect:
’Celine’, a graceful woman with silver hair flowing like moonlight, her presence serene yet exuding an unyielding strength. "I am Celine, Keeper of the Lunar Wards, tasked with maintaining the protective barriers of this realm."
’Kael’, a towering figure with an aura like a frozen tempest. "Kael, Master of the Ice Blades. I am assigned as the personal guard and will protect the young lord with my life."
’Lyria’, a soft-spoken but sharp-eyed archer with wings. "Lyria, Sentinel of the Outer Perimeters. I keep watch for any disturbances in the Lunar Moon’s domain."
Their introductions continued, each Guardian displaying a unique role and skillset, painting a picture of a well-balanced team dedicated to their duties. They were not merely guards but stewards of this celestial body, ensuring its harmony and safeguarding its secrets.
Captain Varien is the leader and strongest, followed by the three. Others were also countless times stronger than him, but these four were at the top of the food chain here on the Lunar Moon Star.
"Thank you for your introductions," Apollo said, his tone steady and authoritative. "I am honoured to have such capable individuals by my side."
Although he couldn’t determine their loyalty, it was evident that he possessed a significant level of authority within the Sky Tower organization—possibly even more impressive than he initially believed.
But he knew it was just because he was the sixth disciple of some mysterious almighty supreme of Sky Tower whom he hadn’t even met. So the most important thing was to use his status and power to increase his strength, as no matter what individual strength mattered the most.
If you are strong, everything will come to you on your own, and he didn’t need to think that much at such a time.
Eldarion observed the exchange with quiet satisfaction. "Now that introductions are complete, it is time to master the rune at Lunar Core, Sir Apollo. Once you do, the Lunar Moon will fully recognize you as its master and control the entire runic formation on the entire moon."
Varien stepped forward, gesturing toward the towering pavilion behind them. "Shall we go?"
Apollo nodded, a flicker of determination lighting his eyes. "Lead the way."
As Apollo stepped into the towering pavilion, he immediately felt an overwhelming presence. The interior of the structure seemed to defy logic, its vastness stretching far beyond what the outside suggested. It felt as though he had entered an entirely separate world. The air inside was thick with energy—ancient, dense, and filled with mysterious power.
The entire place, like a town, had different buildings within it. He also saw some more people, either soldiers or members of Sky Tower, who came here to understand and get a hint about the conceptual level of law.
As he ventured deeper into the pavilion, his awe only grew. The space was not just a chamber—it was a thriving town, brimming with life and activity. Structures of various designs sprawled around him, each radiating unique energies. The buildings seemed crafted from the very power of the moon, their walls shimmering with pale light and mysterious runes.
Apollo’s gaze swept across the scene, taking in the diverse crowd. Some figures meditated in front of glowing rune altars, their expressions serene and focused. Others studied complex diagrams etched into the ground or shared quiet discussions about the laws of the cosmos.
One soldier, clad in silver armour adorned with Lunar motifs, noticed them quickly and saluted.
Varien nodded and let them do their work and quickly led the group towards its core and heart of the place.
As they pressed forward, the group moved with purpose, the towering rune altar at the heart of the pavilion growing steadily closer. Its presence was magnetic, radiating an energy that seemed to ripple through the very layers of the space around it.
Each ray of light from the altar sent a faint vibration through the ground, as though the Lunar Core itself was alive and aware of its approach.
Apollo’s eyes fixed on the altar, its brilliance a beacon that drew him forward. The mysterious linked patterns etched into its surface shimmered with shifting hues of silver and blue, resembling the phases of the moon in their perpetual dance.
The air grew cooler and heavier as they approached, charged with an ancient energy that resonated deeply with his own aura.
Eldarion, walking beside him, gestured toward the altar with a subtle motion. "There it is—the heart of the Lunar Moon. The Rune Altar connects directly to the Lunar Core, the source of this celestial body’s power and the key to unlocking its mysteries."
Apollo’s steps slowed for a moment, taking in the monumental structure. He could feel the Rune Altar’s pull, a silent invitation that seemed to bypass words and reach directly into his essence.
The mysterious token given by the fifth brother started to glow with mysterious energy.
Varien, leading the group, turned slightly to glance at Apollo. "It recognizes you already," he said, his voice low but clear. "The closer you get, the more it will reveal its secrets."
Apollo’s fingers tightened slightly, and the token appeared in his hand as its energy began to seep into his hand, not harshly but as if it was searching, probing, and synching with him. He could feel its pull deep within his core, a sensation both foreign and familiar.
The Rune Altar ahead responded in kind, its shifting hues of silver and blue intensifying, the glyphs etched upon it coming alive. The patterns began to dance, forming complicated sequences that seemed to speak a language older than time itself.
Varien stepped to the side as if to allow Apollo the full focus of the altar’s gaze. "Approach when you are ready," he said.
Apollo stepped forward, his expression steady. He could feel the eyes of the Guardians on him. With each step closer to the Rune Altar, the token’s glow grew brighter, its energy wrapping around him like a protective shroud.
As he reached the base of the altar, Apollo paused, his gaze fixed on the intricate glyphs swirling across its surface. The energy emanating from the structure seemed to pulse in sync with his own heartbeat.
Taking a deep breath, Apollo extended the token toward the Rune Altar, the glow now almost blinding. "Let’s see what secrets you hold," he murmured, his voice calm yet filled with determination as the token and altar’s energies prepared to converge.
He instantly felt a surge of mysterious energy envelop him, and in the blink of an eye, he vanished—reappearing in a blank void with a massive silver star shining brilliantly before him.
"What... is this?" He murmured, his voice tinged with shock.
He couldn’t believe or comprehend what he was seeing. But before he had time to ponder, a sudden force pulled him into the colossal star. And the next moment, he found himself back where he had started, dazed and bewildered.
But all was far from over as he felt a huge pain in his head, and different images and memories started to appear in his mind.
