Chapter 112: Gathering of Geniuses(Part-1)
Master Aaron chuckled, seeing the shocked expressions on everyone’s faces, clearly proud of his apprentice. "Apollo’s achievements are a testament to his hard work and dedication. He has trained relentlessly, honing his skills and pushing his limits," he said with a laugh.
Though he attributed Apollo’s success to sheer hard work, Aaron knew that even relentless effort wouldn’t have brought most geniuses anywhere near the level of his monstrously talented apprentice.
Ninth Prince Leon stepped forward and said to Apollo, "Our kingdom is truly fortunate to have such a talented warrior. I will immediately send word to the royal family so they can bestow appropriate gifts upon Sir Aaron’s family."
The prince knew exactly what he needed to do. Understanding that Apollo came from a baron family, Leon realized he had to establish a close relationship with him now. He recognized that once Apollo grew even stronger, the opportunity might slip away. Forming ties with Apollo’s family was the perfect opportunity to secure this valuable alliance.
The Fist king also nodded thoughtfully. "It’s rare to see such raw talent and determination. You have a bright future ahead of you."
The other two geniuses also came forward, but they said few good things and nothing much; they weren’t like royal families trying to win talented warriors; they cared much more about bloodlines.
Apollo smiled, appreciating the offers. "Thank you."
The atmosphere around the training grounds had shifted, with admiration and respect replacing the initial tension. The young geniuses and Fist King alike recognized the extraordinary potential within Apollo.
Prince Leon added, "The royal family will also recognize your talents and ensure you receive the support and resources needed to reach even greater heights."
Apollo felt a mixture of pride and humility. "I am grateful for your offers and recognition. My focus remains on my training with the master. But I will keep your words in mind for the future."
With that said, the Fist King left with Master Aaron, leaving Apollo, Leon, Seraphina, and Elias behind. Seraphina couldn’t control herself and jumped to hold the white cat, Pussy King, rubbing his soft, crystal-clear fur with her hands.
Surprisingly, the Pussy King didn’t mind; in fact, a lewd smile seemed to form on his face as he rubbed his head against her chest.
With nothing else to do, they decided to stroll through the city, which had now become a place where snakes and dragons mingled among the crowd.
The streets were now filled with a mix of ordinary citizens and powerful figures from various regions, drawn by the recent upheavals and the rumours surrounding the Book of Death.
Apollo followed by white cat walked beside them, observing the mingling crowds. Among the common folk were individuals whose auras hinted at great power—warriors, mages, and perhaps even a few who practised the darker arts. It was clear that the city’s recent events had attracted a diverse and formidable array of visitors.
Elias, ever the quiet observer, finally spoke up. "This place has become a gathering point for all sorts. We should be cautious."
Leon agreed. "Yes, especially with the rumours about the Book of Death. Many are here to investigate, and not all of them will have honourable intentions."
As they continued their stroll, they passed by market stalls selling exotic goods and magical artifacts. The vendors called out to them, trying to entice them with rare items and enchanted trinkets.
These vendors were new, having appeared after the beast tide, aware that Hunter City would become a gathering place for people from diverse backgrounds for a month or two.
Apollo and his companions took in the sights and sounds of the bustling market. It was a vibrant mix of colours, aromas, and voices, with each stall offering something unique. The vendors, sensing potential customers, were eager to showcase their wares.
A vendor with a collection of shimmering crystals and enchanted rings caught Seraphina’s eye. "Look at these," she said, picking up a delicate ring that glowed with a soft blue light.
Leon examined a nearby display of ancient-looking scrolls and talismans. "You never know what hidden treasures you might find."
Elias, always alert, scanned the crowd and the stalls with a keen eye. "Be careful," he cautioned. "Not all these vendors are trustworthy. Some might be selling cursed items or fake artifacts."
Apollo nodded in agreement, his attention drawn to a stall that seemed different from the rest. The vendor, a tall figure shrouded in a dark cloak, had an air of mystery about him. The items on display were not the usual trinkets but strange, arcane objects that seemed to hum with latent power.
Intrigued, Apollo approached the stall. "What do you have here?" he asked the cloaked vendor.
The vendor’s eyes gleamed from beneath his hood. "Items from ancient ruins and mystery," he replied in a voice that was both soft and resonant.
Apollo picked up a small, intricately carved amulet. As he held it, he felt a faint aura of death, almost like a heartbeat. "What is this?" he inquired.
The vendor smiled. "This is an amulet I found in an abandoned old ruin. Although I don’t know exactly what it does, its material and carvings are unique—unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I can be sure it is a great treasure."
Apollo examined the amulet closely. The carvings were indeed unusual, depicting symbols and figures that seemed to shift and change under his gaze. He could feel the pulsing energy within, resonating with his aura.
"How much for this amulet?" Apollo asked, intrigued by the potential of the object.
The vendor leaned in, his eyes glittering with a mix of greed and curiosity. "For you, a warrior of such promise, I’ll part with it for a mere hundred gold coins. Consider it a bargain for a treasure of this nature."
The other three stood beside him, feeling a bit surprised to see him show interest in the weird amulet.
Apollo considered the price. It was steep, but his instincts told him the amulet was worth it. He reached into his pouch in his space ring and handed over the coins. The vendor accepted them with a satisfied nod, wrapping the amulet in a piece of dark cloth before handing it to Apollo.
"May it serve you well," the vendor said, his voice carrying a hint of something unspoken.
Apollo nodded, sensing there was more to the vendor than met the eye. He quickly put the amulet safely into his space ring.
The other three didn’t say anything or ask much about why Apollo bought the amulet. They understood their boundaries and continued their exploration of the market.
As they wandered through the bustling streets, a nearby conversation caught their attention.
"Hey, did you hear? It seems the youngest prince of the Sacred Light Empire is coming here."
"The prince of one of the ten strongest empires, the Sacred Light Empire?" another person exclaimed.
"Really?" The group around them buzzed with excitement.
Apollo and his companions overheard the chatter, and their interest piqued.
The Sacred Light Empire was one of the ten great empires in the world of Rion, renowned for its strong and rare warriors with mutated light life forces and deep influence. The arrival of its youngest prince was significant news.
It was completely different from Ninth Prince Leon’s arrival; the two could not be compared at all.
On Rion, there are hundreds of human kingdoms, but there are only three human empires among the ten great Empires that represent the strongest and most noble authority in the world.
But the arrival of the youngest prince is big news that could shock countless people.
"It seems even the Sacred Light Empire is taking the Book of Death seriously. Then again, the Sacred Light Empire has great disgust and a deep grudge against the Dark Factions, and with a divine artifact of death appearing, they cannot sit still," Ninth Prince Leon said with a calm expression.
Despite being the youngest, he possessed a great depth of knowledge about such matters.
Not only that, but they had also heard various rumours and news that many geniuses from ancient and powerful forces would be gathering in the city because of the prince of the Sacred Light Empire. He was said to be a once-in-a-thousand-year genius of the Empire, attracting all the prodigies of this generation, and it was the prince’s first outside visit.
All wanted to finally see the great genius that appeared in the Sacred Light Empire, which shocked many old monsters of the Empire.
"All factions are eager to witness this extraordinary genius from the Sacred Light Empire," Ninth Prince Leon concluded.
The conversation left Apollo and his companions contemplating the implications of these upcoming events as the city braced itself for the arrival of one of the empire’s most heralded figures.
After returning, Apollo first examined the amulet closely, but after some time, he found nothing unusual. He then immersed himself in daily training and occasional sparring sessions with the other three prodigies.
Time passed quickly, and within three days, the city continued to swell with newcomers, making finding accommodation in the bustling Hunter City a challenge in itself.
Security measures tightened as the population surged. The city lacked sufficient warriors to maintain order, but relief came in the form of reinforcements. The Hunter Guild and numerous warriors from the Sacred Light Empire dispatched a significant contingent of warriors and soldiers, finally stabilizing the city.
The influx of skilled individuals and heightened security transformed Hunter City into a bustling hub, and tensions simmered beneath the surface.
