Genius Club -
Chapter 1215 - 52 For You All My Life (Extra for Sect Leader Visionary Realm!)
"Actually, from a scientific perspective, if you’re really worried about ghosts or supernatural entities, there’s nothing better to prepare than a small rubber ball."
"Why?"
This piece of knowledge genuinely made Lin Xian pause.
Is this the caliber of someone who’s studied abroad?
"What good is preparing a rubber ball?"
"To verify if it’s tangible."
Zhao Yingjun responded without hesitation:
"It doesn’t matter what kind of ghost or entity you encounter, just toss a rubber ball at it directly. If the ball bounces back, it means it’s material. What’s there to be afraid of? Two grown men surely can handle a tangible being."
"If the ball passes straight through, it means the entity isn’t physical. Then there’s nothing left to say... if you can’t harm it, no weapon will work. Just turn around and run."
Zhao Yingjun’s rigorously scientific reasoning immediately made Lin Xian laugh:
"You’re reliable. Next time something like this happens, I’m definitely bringing you along."
"Oh, get out of here."
Zhao Yingjun shot him a glare:
"Do some good for the baby in your belly. I mean, Gao Yang was really something, pulling you along for cemetery digging... How could he not tell right from wrong?"
"Exactly, exactly."
Lin Xian nodded and deflected blame.
...
This was the same woman who could conduct physics experiments in the face of ghosts and supernatural entities. Yet, for the sake of her child’s safety, she was now sitting with eyes closed, silently reciting prayers, serious and devout.
For a while.
Zhao Yingjun rose from the cushion and placed several hundred-yuan bills into the Merit Box. She also lit several sticks of incense for the master. Upon seeing the vibrant incense burners, she left with satisfaction.
The two continued their walk behind the temple, arriving at an isolated rock formation, gazing into the distance.
"If praying to gods and Buddha actually worked, it would be wonderful."
Lin Xian leaned against the pavilion railing and spoke softly:
"If it really worked, I’d also join and pray for a solution to this deadlock."
"The current situation is truly unprecedented. Everything is stuck, completely at a standstill, with no progress in sight."
"Including the catastrophic extinction-level future, and the promise I made to Chu Shanhe to bring back Chu Anqing... Now that the Genius Club’s gathering is over and the other geniuses are acting in secret, I’m completely on the back foot."
"No, strictly speaking, I don’t even have the qualifications to be passive. In the past, I could at least search for clues and information in the dreamlands, bringing back some black tech. But now, with The Ninth Dreamland, I can’t do anything."
"No wonder Einstein was so decisive in declaring the world line stabilized, with no further leaps... Continuing like this, indeed, there’s no way to alter the trajectory of the future. All I can do is watch as this world inches closer, step by step, toward the total extinction of humanity."
Zhao Yingjun patted the side of a long wooden bench, signaling Lin Xian to sit:
"Whatever difficulty you’re facing, you can talk to me about it, we can discuss it."
"I’m your wife. Though I might not be able to help much with battles or the dreamlands, another perspective, another person thinking, might open up a new path."
Lin Xian nodded:
"The biggest problem now is still the inability to find the Hafnium Alloy Safe within the dream. Donghai City has been razed to the ground, leaving no reference points. It’s impossible to distinguish one location from another, so even if I wanted to dig up the safe, I have no idea where to begin."
"Without the safe, I have no access to the note Chu Anqing left for me. Naturally, I can’t confirm whether the dream is real or not."
Zhao Yingjun shook her head:
"I believe your dream is impossible to be false."
She blinked and looked at Lin Xian:
"It’s still the same old question—"
"[If your dream is false, why would Huang Que go to such great lengths, abandoning everything, sacrificing her life just to return to find you?]"
"Because I am Huang Que, and I understand myself very well."
Zhao Yingjun’s voice was soft, but it carried immense strength:
"You told me that Huang Que knew a lot about the Genius Club. Surely that’s because, similar to me now, she learned these things from you."
"Analyzing it this way, Huang Que and her Lin Xian must have already confirmed the reality of your dream. That’s why she was willing to sacrifice everything to traverse time and deliver crucial information to you, so you would enter the Genius Club early and observe Einstein’s inconsistencies."
"If the future Einstein saw was real, and if Einstein truly had the ability to lead humanity toward a brighter future… then Huang Que, traveling back, should have sought out Einstein, not you."
"Clearly, the issue lies with Einstein. Whether he saw a false future or intentionally lied doesn’t matter... The point is, you must trust Huang Que and believe in what you call Huang Que’s careful selection. Her choice of you proves you’re in the right, and she, along with her Lin Xian, must have verified this long ago."
After a brief pause.
Zhao Yingjun stroked her abdomen and continued:
"I admit, this thought may be subjective, even biased. But from my perspective, if I were in Huang Que’s situation... Without absolute certainty, I would never abandon Yu Xi and irresponsibly traverse time."
"Lin Xian, you have to trust yourself, trust Huang Que, and even more so, trust a mother... The tremendous pain and reluctance it must take for her to leave her own child behind... It must be for something truly significant, something vitally important, a reason so compelling that it justifies such a decision."
Lin Xian nodded:
"Yes, I’ve considered this as well, and I deeply trust Huang Que."
"Huang Que gave me so many critical hints and clues, yet never once did she suggest questioning the reality of the dream."
