Chapter 47: Orc Warriors

Chapter 47: Orc Warriors

"It’s an Orc Warrior," Elliot exclaimed.

"No, there are four!" Jenna quickly replied, as her mind finally caught up with what was happening and her ears pricked up to listen.

’Four? Although I hear footsteps, they’re not that...’ Elliot suddenly became alarmed.

"They’re Orc Wizards and Orc Warriors!" he exclaimed in alarm when he realized. But it was a little too late.

At that moment, as they both tried to get up to stand guard and fight, their faces were strangely illuminated by a source of hot light...

That fireball didn’t take long to reach them, and an explosion of fire enveloped them in an instant, echoing through the forest.

At the same time, the orc warrior swung his huge axe again and swung it at the explosion of fire, wanting to split those inside in half. The axe split the explosion in half, demonstrating the orc’s great power, but also that there was no one there.

Then he looked up when his natural beast senses picked up movement above the trees.

"HUOOOH!" A roar from a beast similar to him in size but different in shape, made of strangely colored yet colorless energy, greeted him, leaping toward him.

The orc didn’t know how to react to the goblin’s attack for a moment, as he hadn’t expected him to jump out of a tree. This allowed the goblin to grab hold of him firmly and immobilize him.

Although the goblin had no tanking skills, he had learned that his only role as the "giant of the team" was to immobilize his opponents. But he didn’t have many ways to do this other than distracting them, and among those options, he discovered that jumping on his opponents and wrapping his arms around them to prevent them from moving was the most effective method for his master.

Because of this, he had learned to do it in different ways. Even this summon was growing, not in strength, but in battle experience and knowledge, something that amazed Elliot from the moment he noticed it.

’Not having to give him orders to do what I want is definitely the best thing.’ Elliot appeared behind the orc and swung his sword, trying to cut a large wound in the lower part of its body.

"ROOOOOOAR!" But then a roar came out of the orc’s mouth as he squeezed his power to the limit and opened his arms. This powerful move destroyed the goblin’s arms, forcing him to retreat.

Although he felt no pain, he was stunned momentarily and didn’t know what to do.

’No arms? That’s the first time I’ve seen him like that, I think... I wonder what will happen,’ thought Elliot.

Meanwhile, his sword struck the orc’s waist firmly, blue blood splattering from the sword wound, but he couldn’t penetrate it very far; the wound was only superficial, showing him the enormous difference between him and the orc.

This took Elliot by surprise, which was a serious mistake. His mind was momentarily confused, preventing him from seeing the enormous axe heading towards him until the very last moment.

In an instant, he raised his sword to the point of impact, mitigating the damage, but his body was thrown backwards and crashed into a huge tree trunk.

The blood in his body swirled up to his mouth, and he spat out a mouthful while feeling his back being slightly pierced by several wooden stakes.

"So powerful?" He raised his face when he sensed the danger in front of him and lunged to the right in an instinctive movement. Then a huge axe crossed his eyes, striking his left shoulder and opening a deep wound, and shattered the huge trunk behind him.

The orc’s dangerous eyes followed him wherever he moved, tracking him precisely and moving his axe nimbly along the way.

’What terrifying strength!

The pain did not rob him of his ability to think. As he rolled on the ground, he immediately took out one of the potions he had bought earlier and drank it all.

These potions were useless against poison, which was why he hadn’t used it earlier when he was poisoned, but they did restore wounds. After drinking it, he began to feel the wound on his shoulder heal a little, although it would take several minutes for the effect to take full effect.

But it was enough for now.

He crawled across the ground to dodge another blow from the orc’s axe and grabbed his sword firmly to strike fiercely upward toward his enemy’s left arm.

Although his sword struck, the wound was not too deep. Even so, he could kill him as long as he could keep striking.

’He must have more than 45 points of endurance. My strength is nowhere near his, but as long as I can hurt him, there’s nothing that can’t be won with cunning.’ His mind worked quickly to find the best strategy for the fight.

As he did so, he had to look elsewhere in the battle.

There were four enemies: two orc mages and two orc warriors.

With a quick glance, he could see that the other orc warrior and one mage were distracted by Jenna. Meanwhile, the other mage was in a head-on battle with his rat, thanks to which he had not been attacked. However, his rat was losing the fight against the mage because magic had hit it several times.

’At this rate, the rat is going to lose. The difference in stats is still huge, even though I managed to catch him off guard.’ He knew it. If his rat lost, that orc would focus on casting spells from afar, making an already difficult fight even harder for him.

He wasn’t as good with a sword as Jenna, much less as powerful, so he would be at a brutal disadvantage if that happened.

’Wait.’ He suddenly realized something.

He bent his body backward to dodge one of the attacks, which unexpectedly enraged the orc.

"GOOOOOOARR!" He shouted in his face, as if he was fed up with his opponent just defending and throwing occasional small blows, so he grabbed his axe with both hands and started throwing vertical and horizontal attacks in bursts.

’Perfect!’ Elliot’s mind was filled with joy; this was perfect for his plan.

Around him, the axe began to strike the ground, kicking up vast dust clouds, which Elliot would masterfully take advantage of.

He immediately jumped toward a nearby tree, and when the Orc came after him with a horizontal attack, the goblin, who had been waiting for his moment, reappeared.
