Chapter 165: 165 Second Round.

Inside an infirmary where the smell of antiseptic and herb grew thick, Jin stood near the entrance and addressed the group.

Jin’s clap echoed through the narrow room, bringing all eyes to him.

"Okay, I think that’s rough rest, let’s go to the colosseum and for you three you can come with us later or take a rest, it’s up to you".

From the side, Silvia and Iris stuffed the food and drink that Jin bought earlier.

It was a bit uncomfortable eating inside the room for the sick, but with a gentle breeze that came from the opened window.

That was enough to rouse everyone’s hunger.

One by one, following Silvia’s steps, they exited the room, and at last, Tania briefly glanced at Jin.

Her sharp green eyes dilated, burned in a blazing spirit.

Tania’s mouth was agape, struggling to spill the words that stuck in her throat.

Jin stepped forward, standing right before the stiffened girl. She gulped hard, lifting her gaze to match Jin’s tall stature.

"Tania, don’t hold back in our match".

The girl was taken aback; her eyes widened but soon recovered and replied with a firm nod.

"...Yes, I will do that".

She glanced at Allen, who watched her declaration with a smile on his face. Blood surged to Tania’s face, dying her cheeks crimson.

As if knowing what the girl wanted, Allen slid his feet and stood up from his bed.

"I want to watch the second round".

"Ha? Haa!? What are you saying?".

Tania’s loud outburst rang like a roar, startling everyone in the room. The twins flinched as they exchanged weird glances between each other.

Lily couldn’t help but giggle behind her hand while averting her gaze away.

Jin faded into the scenery as he left the room.

In the silent hallway, warm light filtered through the translucent glass, casting a soft glow that soothed one mind.

His black uniform shimmered under the light as it gently wrapped around his body, a testament to his identity. He slowed down, trying to enjoy the clarity much longer.

’Ah, I forgot to visit my family’. Jin stopped midway, watching his faint reflection on the glass.

The boy shrugged his shoulders, exhaling in resignation. ’Well, I can do it later’.

A calm and tranquil moment was shattered as he stepped outside the building.

In front of him, crowds strode over the now bustling academy. The place was buzzing with activity with the cry of anguish when some people lost in a game.

The sweet and savory smell of food almost halted his steps in place, but Jin shook his head and preserved, resuming his walk to the arena.

"Oh, look, its candidate Jin".

One whisper began to spread like wildfire, gathering many eyes on him.

Some students from Valor Academy and some people glanced at his figure. Their eyes were a mixture of awe and frustration.

At the first match earlier, the crowds still vividly recalled Jin’s swordsmanship and his control over the battle, which gained him many fans, regardless of age and gender.

From the crowd of two girls, they wore a different uniform from him: white blazer and different insignia on their chest.

Both girls were cute with delicate features, one with a gentle demeanor in green hair cascading down her back.

The other was a short girl with blonde hair who had a youthful trace in her innocent, large green eyes.

"...Um, candidates, Jin". The green-haired girl’s voice was sweet, her eyes swimming around.

Jin caught the blush in their cheeks that traveled down to their delicate ears.

The three of them stood still before the green-haired girl inhaled deeply and opened her lips. "If possible, can you spare some of your time to deepen our friendship".

Jin glanced at the blonde girl beside her and noticed the feverish gaze she looked at him.

He shook his head, reaching out to his chest, and slightly bowed his head.

"Thank you for your heartfelt invitation, but I’m deeply sorry, for I already set my eyes on someone".

"Right, and that someone is me!".

A third-party voice startled the three as they saw a golden thread flutter gently in the air, and a breathtaking beauty wrapped her arm around Jin’s hand, pulling him closer to her side.

"Lucya?".

Jin asked in a low voice. His brows knitted in wonder to find the girl who was supposed to be ahead now beside him.

Lucya’s expression broke into a charming smile, and then she entwined her fingers with Jin’s, showing their intimacy.

"Sorry, but he has already taken girls".

The two girls from Valor Academy froze, and Lucya used the chance to slip away from their claws, dragging Jin in her grasp.

As the two left the venue, Jin exhaled sharply. He tightened the grip on his interlocking hands. "Thanks for the help, Lucya".

"Hehe, anytime darling".

A chill ran down his spine every time Jin heard Lucya’s sweet voice.

Never in his wildest thought that just a change in calling oneself would make such an impact on his heart.

The two walked over to the crowded place, hands locked on each other.

Lucya’s bright and curious eyes swept over the place. Her finger never stopped pointing at something that caught her interest.

"Darling, is that the food you served us earlier". Lucya pointed at a stall that sells takoyaki.

"Ah, Takoyaki. Do you like it?".

The princess put a finger on her cheek, then replied. "Well it was rich with flavor, and delicious too, but for me it was too oily".

"Hoho, as expected of royalty, your palate was surely different from a commoner like me".

"Hey darling, is that sarcasm?". Lucya’s brows furrowed in a deep frown, giving Jin’s arm a bit of a pinch.

Despite the silly banter they exchanged, Jin and Lucya arrived at the backdoor, where the official teacher and student council were waiting on guard.

"Junior Jin, good luck and junior Lucya too". One of the females in the group waved to them.

Jin and Lucya entered the Colosseum. Their footsteps bounced around the narrow path, resonating with their pulse.

Although the battlefield was almost in front of them, neither Jin nor Lucya wanted to separate the warmth in their palms.

The calm atmosphere in the place stirred something invisible, a brewing storm that came from the end of the tunnel light where dreams clashed.

Beyond the light, Jin caught the silhouette of the Alpha Class students, noticing his appearance.

"Sorry, we are a bit late". Lucya reluctantly separated from Jin.

"I see; you have a good time with him". Iris scoffed, her sharp eyes alternating between Jin and Lucya’s hands.

"Oh, I smell jealousy in here".

The princess’s lips parted into a teasing smirk, jumping at Iris’s side, who crossed her arm on her chest.

"Halt there, human. how dare you mock my big sis".

Nerine jumped in between, but now everyone in the group had already softened to her brash attitude and considered her as a seeking attention little sister.

"Oh, little Neri". Lucya began to switch her target and softened the tension between the group.

A calm frost approached Jin and stood next to him. Her azure eyes watched the group situation with a gentle smile on her lips.

Jin looked at her side profile. Silvia’s cold expression, yet tinged with warmth, tugged a smile to form on his lips.

"Has it started yet?".

Silvia shifted to Jin, shaking her head sideways. "No, but soon I think".

The moment Silvia spilled those words, Selene’s cheerful voice echoed, inciting a roar from the crowds, who couldn’t wait to see the continuation of the battle.

"The sun is glaring above us and as promised it is time to start the next round. Everyone, are you ready?".

"Yeah!".

One roar shook the arena, coming from the culmination of a starving crowd who carved entertainment and adrenaline.

Jin shrugged his shoulders while hearing Selene’s voice kept rambling about opening and stuff.

He stepped forward, pulling everyone’s attention in the tunnel.

"Okay, this is what we have been waiting for. The first match will bring together two students from the same academy.

...Let’s welcome Jin and Tania!".

Cheer exploded in the arena, sending a shockwave that pierced his eardrums.

Without hesitation, Jin stepped forward and appeared before the crowds. His posture was poised and exuded a sharp aura that silenced the people around him.

The boy summoned his katana and stood in the middle of the arena, where everyone’s eyes were gathered in the same tunnel, waiting for the opponent.

’She’s came’. Jin turned his back, facing the tunnel.

From within, Tania walked over, inciting noise from the spectators above.

She stood a few meters before Jin, clutching her staff tight.

The girl’s breath was erratic; probably, she was running all the way to this place.

However, in a single breath, Tania’s green eyes were straight, focusing wholly on the opponent before her.

Jin barely held his brow from twitching as he saw mana begin to pulsate around her.

’Impressive’. Jin’s lips spread into a grin, and he held the katana hilt tight before drawing it.

’Let’s see how much she’s grown,’ Jin thought, his grin glinting ferociously along with the edge of his blade.

From above, Selene’s voice reverberated across the field as she announced the start of the anticipated battle.

"The match begins".
