Chapter 566

NEW DIVINE ENVOYS

It was successful.

As Evé gazed upon the adorable little being before her, a genuine sense of joy welled up within her heart.

After a moment of silent contemplation, she gently spoke:

“Since that is the case, I shall bestow upon you the name Feynir.”

“From this moment forth, you shall be known as the Fairy King, Feynir.”

Feynir, which was derived from the English word “fairy” on Earth, originally refers to the tiny, ethereal beings often depicted in fairy tales as little sprites or mystical creatures resembling young girls with wings.

These creatures from Western mythology on Earth served as the inspiration for Eve’s creation of this new race.

Upon receiving Eve’s divine decree, Feynir stood upon her hand, gracefully lifted the hem of a white dress manifested from energy, and respectfully performed a traditional elven bow.

She then spoke with a tone of both reverence and delight:

“I, Feynir, the King of Elemental Fairies, thank the Divine Mother for bestowing upon me this name.”

Evé was not surprised by Feynir’s gesture of elven etiquette since much of the knowledge and customs imparted through the elemental fairy’s inheritance were derived from elven culture.

As such, many of Feynir’s behaviors closely resembled those of the elves, even to the point of using the elven tongue as her language.

This was an entirely favorable outcome because the elven race had long been renowned for their elegance.

Even after millennia of decline, their noble manners remained the standard among aristocrats of all sentient races, particularly amongst the long-established nobility of human nations.

Being a humanoid species, the elves’ appearance and demeanor aligned closely with human aesthetic ideals.

Thus, admiration for the elven culture had already taken root in human societies during the height of elven civilization in the Silver Age. Even after the fall of the World Tree, elven culture continued to leave an indelible mark on the traditions of various kingdoms and empires.

It was perhaps for this very reason that elves are so highly prized by slave traders.

The more beautiful and coveted something is, the more people desire to possess it.

Evé gently shook her head at the thought.

Nonetheless, while Feynir inherited some knowledge from the elves, her thoughts and personality were more closely aligned with Evé herself.

Like the elves, the elemental fairies were innately loyal to Evé, and each of them was filled with deep affection and reverence towards her.

As Evé looked at the graceful, obedient, and charming little elemental fairy standing in her palm, her mood grew even more cheerful, so much so that the weather throughout her divine kingdom brightened into a radiant, sunlit day.

The little creature did not possess great power.

She barely had the strength of a Legendary-rank.

For mortals, such strength would be awe-inspiring.

However, from the perspective of Evé, who had used divine power sufficient to elevate a being to the level of a demigod, Feynir’s strength was relatively weak in comparison.

Even so, Eve understood that she had to compromise, as the act of creating life itself consumed immense divine energy. Manifesting a Legendary being from nothingness was already a rare and commendable feat.

With the birth of the elemental fairy race, detailed information regarding the species emerged clearly within Eve’s mind in the form of the familiar status panel she favored:

Race Name: Elemental Fairy】

Origin: Divine Creation】

Alignment: Lawful Neutral】

Classification: Energy-Based Lifeform】

Racial Rank: Silver-rank】

Lifespan: 500–1500 years】

Strength Range: Silver – Legendary】

Racial Abilities: Mana Conduction, Elemental Domination, Psychic Whispers】

Intelligence Level: Fae-like Cunning】

Method of Birth: Divine Power Shaping, World Tree Manifestation, Spiritual Incubation】

In this universe, there are three primary origins of life: natural emergence, extra-dimensional arrival, and divine creation.

The elemental fairies, having been created by Evé, naturally fall under the category of divine creation.

Their alignment, much like Eve’s own, is Lawful Neutral.

Their lifespans vary depending on their strength, but generally range from five hundred to fifteen hundred years.

This places them on the lower threshold of the long-lived races.

Nevertheless, their overall strength is quite impressive for a sentient species, qualifying them as a Silver-rank race, meaning the average individual amongst them possesses power at or above the Silver-rank.

In other words, most faeries will reach Silver-rank strength upon their maturation.

However, for beings of pure energy, the concept of “maturity” does not apply in the same way.

An energy lifeform is considered mature from the moment of its creation.

In other words, elemental fairies are born with at least Silver-rank strength. Under normal circumstances, they are capable of growing to the peak of the Silver rank, and some, with exceptional talent, may even break through into the Golden rank—or even reach the Legendary-rank.

Of course, Legendary is the absolute limit.

That is already the pinnacle for ordinary sentient lifeforms.

Beyond that lies the realm not of sentient races, but of mythical species, beings associated with gods.

The abilities of elemental fairies are also closely related to their nature as energy-based lifeforms, with a strong focus on magical and psychic domains.

Among their abilities, Mana Conduction is a versatile support skill. It allows the user to influence the mana within other lifeforms. Not only can it assist others in absorbing mana for growth, but it can also help resolve issues arising from mana disorder.

This is an ability Evé had originally intended to instill in them.

She planned not only to select a few favored fairies to be elevated as her demigod retainers, but also to utilize the elemental fairies to help restore the environmental conditions of the Dark Mountains.

The harsh environment of the Dark Mountains was primarily due to the lingering effects following the thousand-year Holy War, which had disrupted the natural flow of mana in the region.

The chaotic mana led to the death of many magical creatures, which in turn destabilized the area’s mana cycle. Over time, this resulted in a steady decline in ambient mana, which ultimately degraded the environment of the Dark Mountains.

While such mana turbulence can naturally correct itself over a long span of time, direct intervention can significantly accelerate the process.

Now that the Dark Mountains fall under her jurisdiction, it was naturally her duty, as the one bearing the title of Mother of Nature, to restore the region’s balance.

Doing so also contributes to strengthening her dominion over the divinity of nature.

In fact, Evé could handle the restoration herself, and would do so with much higher efficiency. However, the cost-to-benefit ratio would be too low and the divine energy she would expend in the endeavor might not even be worth the result.

Thus… she chose instead to create a specialized race for such task.

As for ‘Elemental Domination,’ as the name implies, this refers to elemental magic.

Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, Light, and Darkness—the six elemental forces.

Like other sentient beings, the elemental magic that a fairy can control depends on each individuals inherent affinity.

Energy, as a dynamic and mana-rich substance, naturally carries elemental properties.

As a result, elemental fairies inevitably diverge into different types: Earth Fairies, Wind Fairies, Water Fairies, and so forth.

Of course, Feynir, the first elemental fairy Evé created, has balanced attributes across all elements.

However, she is a special case, being the first of her kind.

The ability ‘Psychic Whisper’ is a derivative of Eve’s divine authority over nature, and is a signature druid ability.

As such, she also granted it to the elemental fairies.

In her vision, the fairies are not only meant to serve as companions to players, but also as partners to all living beings.

They will bear the sacred duty of maintaining and regulating ecological balance throughout the world.

In terms of intelligence, the average elemental fairy is slightly less intelligent than a human, which was roughly equivalent to a 12- or 13-year-old child.

Their souls, like those of most energy-based lifeforms, are relatively fragile. The power of faith they can offer is limited, often less than that of a human, and roughly comparable to that of orcs.

However, this assessment applies only to ordinary elemental fairies.

Those with exceptional talent—or those elevated to demigod status by Eve—will possess far greater intelligence and soul strength.

As energy-based lifeforms, elemental fairies may be born through three different methods:

1. Direct Creation by Eve, such as how Feynir was shaped through divine power.

2. Manifestation from the World Tree, similar to the birth of the primordial elves.

3. Spiritual Convergence, wherein existing fairies blend their spiritual essences in natural environments. By placing the merged spirit near a mana node, and allowing it to absorb sufficient mana, a new elemental fairy can eventually be born.

With a clear understanding of the elemental fairies’ capabilities and nature, Evé smiled faintly.

She was quite satisfied with this new race.

Though they may not be perfect in every respect, perfection does not exist in this world.

Among the elemental fairies, certain exceptional individuals were more than sufficient to undergo divine empowerment and ascend to the level of demigod.

With this thought in mind, Evé raised her finger and pointed gently at Feynir.

In the next instant, vast divine energy surged forward at Eve’s command, pouring into Feynir’s body.

A sacred radiance began to envelop Feynir, and her aura grew dramatically. Brilliance surrounded her as she ascended, until it finally stabilized after surpassing a critical threshold.

She had now received Eve’s divine blessing, and ascended to become a demigod elemental fairy.

Sensing the immense power now flowing within her, Feynir’s face lit up with joy. She cheerfully soared through the air in a graceful loop, then landed respectfully before Evé and bowed deeply:

“Feynir thanks the Divine Mother for Her gracious gift.”

Looking upon the obedient and endearing Fairy King, a smile tugged at the corners of Eve’s lips.

With a snap of her fingers, she granted Feynir access to a portion of Elven Kingdom’s game system permissions via the faith network. These included administrative tasks such as item offering management, instance maintenance, and player behavior monitoring.

“From this day forward,” Evé declared, “you shall serve as my demigod retainer. You will assist in overseeing the Chosen Ones, and work alongside the Oak Guardians in managing the affairs of my Divine Kingdom.”

“I shall faithfully carry out Your divine will!” Feynir responded with fervent reverence.

Evé nodded slightly.

At last, her Divine Kingdom had its first proper retainer and she could finally enjoy a bit more leisure for herself.

Following the elevation of Fairy King Feynir to demigod status, Evé used her divine power to create an additional five hundred elemental fairies.

These, too, were first-generation elemental fairies with balanced elemental attributes.

However, their strength were notably inferior to Feynir’s as they were all at the Gold-rank.

These five hundred fairies were part of Eve’s plan to establish a group of divine envoys.

Just as the human gods have angels of faith serving as their messengers, Evé too deemed it necessary to have divine emissaries of her own.

Following the precedent set by her predecessor, she might have used the Oak Guardians for this role. However, due to their rather sensitive identity being closely linked to the World Tree—and Eve’s preference for aesthetics—appointing the Oak Guardians as her emissaries did not appeal to her.

Thus, the task naturally fell to the elemental fairies.

Or more accurately, the high-ranking elemental fairies.

These five hundred fairies, both male and female, were all irresistibly adorable. They fluttered about within her Divine Kingdom, creating a breathtaking and radiant scene.

Then, in unison, they all bowed deeply in youthful, clear voices and proclaimed:

“We, Elemental Fairies, give thanks to the Divine Mother for our birth.”

“We humbly ask the Divine Mother to bestow upon us names.”

Eve: “…”

Why is the first thing every newborn being asks for always a name?

Moreover, there are five hundred of them…

Are they asking me to come up with five hundred names?

Ugh, you might as well kill me…

She silently grumbled in her heart.

Of course, despite her internal complaints, Evé quickly pulled five hundred Western-style names from her memories from her past life and instilled them into the consciousness of each elemental fairy.

Immediately after receiving their names, joy spread across their faces as each one of them bowed in unison once more and reverently praised:

“Thank you, Divine Mother, for granting us our names!”

Eve: “…”

A faint twitch appeared at the corner of her lips, and she made a firm mental note:

lf she ever creates more elemental fairies, she will absolutely do so remotely rather than in person.

After receiving the collective gratitude of the elemental fairies, Eve continued:

“From this day forward, you shall serve as my divine envoys. You will assist your King, Feynir in managing the affairs of my Divine Kingdom, and when needed, carry my will into the mortal world.”

“We shall faithfully follow your divine command!” the elemental fairies responded in perfect harmony.

Evé then turned her gaze to Feynir once again:

“Feynir, as the King of the Elemental Fairies, you will oversee all elemental fairies within the Divine Kingdom.”

“I shall carry out your divine will with utmost devotion!” Feynir replied earnestly and reverently.

Having delegated responsibilities to the elemental fairies, Evé then withdrew her incarnation and returned to her true form.

Once Evé departed, the elemental fairies immediately scattered into the air.

They began to play and frolic among themselves, filled with excitement and curiosity about their surroundings.

“Hey, what’s your name?”

“I’m Einstein. What about you?”

“I’m Jeanne d’Arc!”

Watching the fairies darting about, Feynir furrowed her brow.

She released her immense divine aura and declared:

“Silence!”

Her voice, though youthful, carried a hint of authority and echoed throughout the skies of the Divine Kingdom.

Instantly, all the elemental fairies came to a halt.

Satisfied, Feynir nodded and addressed them:

“The Divine Mother has granted us life and entrusted us with the sacred duty of managing this Divine Kingdom. This is a sign of Her great trust in us!”

“We must take our responsibilities seriously and maintain the Divine Kingdom with beauty, order, and care!”

“So… stop playing around and get to work!”

Upon hearing their king’s words, the little fairies nodded earnestly. Chirping cheerfully, they scattered and began flying to different parts of the realm to begin their tasks.

The creation of the Divine Kingdom’s elemental fairies was now complete.

Next, Eve planned to create a new batch of elemental fairies for Seigües.

However, these elemental fairies born in the mortal world would not be as powerful as those in her Divine Kingdom.

These would be single-element fairies with only Silver-rank strength.

The reason for this approach was Eve’s intention to maximize efficiency while minimizing divine power expenditure, as the Dark Mountains spanned a vast area and restoring them would be a massive undertaking.

Moreover, if these fairies were to serve as companions for the players, producing them in too small a quantity would not suffice.

This time, Evé intended to use the most efficient method available to her, which was birthing them directly from the World Tree.

Of course, being first-generation fairies, these new ones would still possess growth potential.

At her command, countless radiant light orbs began to coalesce at the crown of the World Tree…

She had already activated her body’s birthing capability.

However, the process of birth via the World Tree would take time and she would need to wait for awhile.

In the meantime, she planned to announce the creation of the elemental fairies to her believers and the players.

Undoubtedly, it would spark yet another wave of excitement.
