Game of Love and Deception: The Billionaire's Ex Wife -
Chapter 62: No wedding
Chapter 62: No wedding
"What?" Christian coughed, nearly losing control of the steering wheel. "You want me to cheat on you?" His voice was filled with shock.
He stared at her, trying to keep his composure. He wanted her to know that cheating was the last thing he’d ever do. But deep down, he couldn’t help but hope she’d insist.
"I—No," she replied, scratching her neck and smiling sheepishly. "I mean... it was one of your fantasies when you were with that whore you called a wife. And up until now, you still haven’t done it."
She leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Just me and a naive, petite blonde... as a reward for forgiving me for the ring." She added a playful wink at the end.
Christian loved blondes. In fact, Ashley was the only one who had ever managed to catch his interest without being one, and that was because, even with her dark hair, her beauty had been irresistible.
He hesitated for a moment before responding, "If that’s what you want, then... I guess it’s fair," he shrugged.
His stomach flipped with excitement, but he kept a neutral expression. This was a dream come true.
One of the reasons Christian could never break up with Kayla was because she would go to any lengths to make him happy—or earn his forgiveness when she wronged him.
"Speaking of fair, when are we going to start planning our wedding, Chris?" Kayla cooed, pouting.
Christian returned his eyes to the road, focusing. "We’ll have that conversation soon, Kay. I just need time to take care of a few things first. Make your family comfortable. I don’t want you pawning off my wedding ring when I’m not looking," he teased, and she laughed. "Just relax and enjoy, baby. Okay?" He touched the tip of her jaw, giving her a reassuring smile.
He only had to keep playing it smart. He wasn’t ready to tie himself to any stupid vows again. Not now. Not ever. But he couldn’t tell her that—he feared she’d leave him.
Kayla nodded, a smile creeping onto her face. "Alright, babes. I love you."
But the smile faded as her gaze shifted to the side, watching the road blur before them through the glass.
Christian was a selfish bastard who believed he deserved everything... and more. No partner, no relationship would ever be enough for him. Even if he were in a polygamous or open relationship, he would still cheat. Kayla knew that.
After all, he had cheated on her just a few days before proposing back in college. When she refused because she needed time to clear her head and forgive him, he met Ashley and didn’t waste a second to marry her.
She was mad at first, but eventually, she realized no one could handle his shenanigans and still give him unforgettable sex like she did. She knew he’d come crawling back.
And he he proved her right when he returned weeks after his marriage, and began spoiling her.
It was a golden opportunity, and she didn’t hesitate to open her arms and legs for him. And soon enough, she made sure Ashley knew that while she might be his wife, it was her who truly held his heart. She had no regrets, especially after what that bitch did to her today.
But even now, she knew Christian was still cheating on her, even though she hadn’t caught him red-handed yet. She’d be a fool not to notice how he gawked on other girls whenever she looked away.
She also suspected there might never be any wedding, considering how quickly Christian always diverted any conversation about their marriage.
But despite all the glaring toxicity in their relationship, she still wanted him, mostly for the benefits that came with being his. It didn’t mean she was stupid like Ashley, whom he used and dumped as he pleased.
And if her plans worked out, she’d get her happily ever after with the man her heart now truly belonged to—after she bled Christian dry.

Christian arrived at his office the next morning, rage boiling in his chest from the news he’d received.
Earlier, he’d been in the middle of hot sex with Kayla, lost in a fantasy about the threesome she’d promised, when his phone rang. He almost ignored it—until he saw the caller ID. Gabriel. He answered, only to hear that several investors were pulling out.
He didn’t need anyone to tell him why. His outburst at yesterday’s auction was now all over the internet, and investors hated bad publicity.
Storming into his office building, he wondered how the footage had even gotten out. Reporters hadn’t been allowed inside the hall.
He spotted Gabriel deep in conversation with another employee. Both went silent when he approached.
"What is the media team doing to take those videos down?" he snapped.
Gabriel quickly dismissed the other guy and walked toward him. "Chris, they’re doing their best to remove everything..."
"Their best isn’t good enough," he cut in. "If I don’t see results in thirty minutes, they’re fired. All of them."
"Thirty minutes?" Gabriel frowned. "That’s not..."
"Pass that message on," Christian said coldly. "And report back to my office immediately."
As he walked past, he added, "Also, find out who leaked the video."
"Yes, sir," Gabriel muttered, barely hiding the irritation in his voice.
Christian noticed, but said nothing. Lucky for him, he was his best friend—anyone else would’ve been fired and blacklisted immediately.
Time dragged before Gabriel showed up at his office. He reported the media team had managed to scrub most of the footage from websites, but the damage had been done. They’d already lost a few investors.
Christian’s brow furrowed. Someone had to be behind this.
He picked up his phone and called one of the top investors who’d just pulled out.
"Mr. Lang, what do you need to continue our partnership?" he asked, voice steady despite the fury bubbling underneath.
There was a pause.
Then came the investor’s cold reply. "Mr. Harrington, you’ve pissed off the wrong person. Instead of trying to save your business, you should focus on begging for mercy."
Christian’s jaw tightened. Veins throbbed on his forehead.
"What are you talking about? Who is this person?"
But the phone clicked dead in response.
The bastard had hung up on him.
Christian slammed his hand against the desk, the loud sound echoing through the office. He couldn’t believe it—but he wasn’t worried. Once the deal with Grey Group was sealed, those cowards would come crawling back. And when they did, he’d make them pay.
Gabriel started to speak, but Christian silenced him with a single raised finger.
He didn’t need opinions. He needed revenge.
Lorenzo had to be behind this. He was in the room when it all went down. It wouldn’t be past him to capture the moment and leak it—especially with his strong ties to certain media houses.
Christian’s jaw clenched tighter.
He hated how small and weak Lorenzo always managed to make him feel. Hated how the bastard kept getting the upper hand while he was still grasping for a way to clip his wings.
But this time would be different. Because unfortunately for Lorenzo, he’d crossed the one line he’d never take lightly—his business.
Lorenzo might have those clubs and a golden reputation, but Christian had been thriving in the corporate world long before that ex-con crawled out of prison and opened those glorified nightspots.
A twisted smile curled on his lips as he pictured Lorenzo’s perfect little world burning.
"It’ll be my delight to watch everything crumble," he whispered darkly.
"Huh?" Gabriel blinked, confused.
Christian turned to him with a smirk. "I’m going to show Lorenzo Grey what it means to cross Christian Harrington."
Gabriel gave him a wary stare. "How do you even know it’s him?"
Christian scoffed. "I’m not the dumb one here."
Gabriel fell silent, knowing the insult was meant for him.
Christian leaned back in his chair, fingers tapping slowly against the polished surface of his desk. His mind spun, already plotting how to uncover whatever shady dealings Lorenzo was hiding behind those flashy clubs. He’d find every crack, every secret—and then he’d expose him.
He turned to Gabriel, his voice calmer, but still edged with anger.
"I want you to dig up everything on Lorenzo Grey. I have a feeling those clubs aren’t his only business. They look too much like the perfect disguise for something," he said thoughtful. "I want every secret. Every weakness. I want to know what makes him tick."
Gabriel gave a tight, reluctant nod.
"And Gabriel?" Christian called out as he turned to leave.
"Yes?"
"If possible, get someone inside. Infiltrate the main clubhouse that he frequents. I want eyes in there."
Gabriel hesitated, then nodded again. His gaze met Christian’s, like he wanted to say something—but decided against it. He thought Christian was going too far, and he knew it had everything to do with Ashley. Ever since their paths crossed again, his best friend had been acting more like an obsessive madman. But Gabriel also knew that nothing he said would change his mind.
Whatever Christian wanted, Christian got.
Once alone again, Christian leaned back in his chair, twirling a pen as a slow, calculated smile spread across his face.
If he found even the tiniest speck of dirt on Lorenzo, prison would be his next destination—especially with his past drug history. And once Lorenzo was out of the picture, his empire would crumble.
And Ashley?
She would finally be his.
