Game of Love and Deception: The Billionaire's Ex Wife -
Chapter 110: Elevator
Chapter 110: Elevator
After ending a call, one of Mikael Flynn’s workers quietly slipped out of the estate, heading for St. Louis Central Hospital, where her mother had been receiving treatment for cancer.
During the ride, her heart wouldn’t stop racing. So much had been happening in her boss’s mansion lately. Besides the burglary case, a new investigation had started. One by one, staff were being invited to the station for questioning. Word was that their master had been poisoned. She couldn’t stop wondering if he’d survive. She hoped he would. Mikael Flynn was the kindest boss she’d ever worked for. Even his wife was the same—treating their staff with respect and care, something most people didn’t bother to do.
She didn’t know when her turn for questioning would come, but she felt it was close. She had to see her mother, even if it was just one last time. It had been four days since her last visit. What if he’d gotten to her already? Raw fear twisted her gut. She wouldn’t forgive herself if anything happened to her mom.
She shook her head, trying to push away the dark thoughts. The driver kept stealing glances at her, but she didn’t notice—too lost in her worries.
She didn’t realize they had reached the hospital until the driver spoke.
"Hey, we’re at St. Louis, Miss."
His voice was gentle, his eyes filled with concern. He had sensed something was wrong from the moment she got in. Dropping her at a hospital only deepened his concern.
She gasped slightly. "Th—Thank you," she said, taking a deep breath and stepping out.
"It’s fine, keep the money," he added when she reached for her purse, his voice soft with pity.
Her eyes widened, surprised, but she thanked him.
"Everything will be okay," he said with a small smile before driving off.
Her throat tightened, and her eyes stung at his words.
"Everything will not be okay," she murmured, voice shaky, as her gaze swept across the large hospital compound filled with people. She knew. Things hadn’t been okay since her father passed. It felt useless to hope now.
Taking a long breath, she started walking toward the entrance of the main building. Her eyes kept darting around. She couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. Her steps quickened, and she disappeared into the long hallway.

A wide grin spread across Lorenzo’s face as his arms wrapped tightly around Ashley’s waist.
"You missed me?"
"A little," she murmured into his shirt.
He tilted her chin up to look into her eyes, making Ashley blush. "That doesn’t look like a little."
"What does it look like then?" she asked with a smile. He never thought he’d see her this excited to see him again. The happiness inside him swelled.
"It looks like you missed me way too much."
"You’re just trying to boost your ego, and I’m not helping, boyfriend," she teased, pulling away from his hold.
He loved it when she called him that.
"Keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep at night," he said with a smirk, making Ashley slap his chest playfully.
"Let’s go inside," she said, taking his hand.
"Want us to lock hands and walk in like that?" he asked, grinning cheekily.
Ashley’s cheeks flushed instantly. "You don’t like that?" she asked cutely, wondering if she was being too forward.
Lorenzo pinched the bridge of her nose. "Who wouldn’t like that? But don’t forget, we still have to meet with the social media guy today."
"True. I just need to go upstairs and tell Claire I’m leaving," she said.
Lorenzo nodded.
"Then..." he drawled as they headed toward the elevator, still holding hands. "I got you something."
They received a few stares which they were too lost in their exchange to notice.
Ashley blinked. "What? I don’t see anything on you."
"It’s at home. It’s a surprise."
Excitement rushed through her, but then she eyed him suspiciously. "Why didn’t you wait till we got home to tell me? Now I’m so anxious."
"That’s the point," Lorenzo winked, pushing her against the cold elevator wall and covering her lips as the doors slid closed behind them. "I’ve been waiting to do this."
Ashley melted against him, squirming, moaning softly. "Me too," she whispered into his mouth, grinding against his knee.
"When we get home, I want to hear all about your meeting," he said, tilting her head and trailing kisses down her neck. She was intoxicating. "I need to make sure no one is stressing my baby."
"Yes, Daddy," Ashley moaned as his teeth grazed her neck and his hand squeezed her breasts. She never imagined doing this in an office elevator. The thrill was unbelievable.
The way she said daddy—fuck—it drove Lorenzo crazier. "You’re a naughty girl, and I can’t wait to punish you."
A rush of heat flooded Ashley’s body, settling deep inside her core at the thought of what his punishment meant.
"The last time you punished me, it felt so damn good," she whispered, teasing.
Lorenzo dropped to a squat, parting her legs as his face hovered close. He inhaled deeply, a soft groan rumbling from his chest. Ashley’s breath caught, her fingers gripping his hair as his hand crawled up her trembling thighs. It wasn’t just the thrill of what he was doing—it was the risk of being caught that made every nerve in her body light up.
His finger grazed her damp underwear—and then the elevator beeped.
Lorenzo shot to his feet, both of them flushed and breathless, scrambling to look composed just as two workers stepped inside.
They shot suspicious looks their way, and Ashley bit back a laugh, especially when she glanced down at Lorenzo’s pants and caught a glimpse of his stiffening erection hidden beneath his shocked expression. She wished she could take a photo of him.
The rest of the day passed in a blur — from meeting Ashley’s new social media manager, to checking the restaurant for tomorrow’s event, then stopping by the Flynn residence to check on the staff.
Ashley didn’t find Madison at the house. When she asked, one of the workers said she’d stepped out to buy something.
"Hey, grumpy," Lorenzo called out to Greg, who shot him a glare.
"Be nice," Ashley whispered to Greg. She’d gone to his apartment inside the compound with Lorenzo to check on him.
"He just called me grumpy—you know I hate that name," Greg whispered back, frowning.
"Don’t mind him. He’s just jealous he can’t frown as much as you do," Ashley teased, and Greg grumbled in a way she found cute.
Lorenzo chuckled, and Ashley shot him a warning glare. He quickly straightened up.
"So, how’re you doing? How’s the leg?" Ashley asked Greg, glancing at the bandage wrapped around his thigh where he’d been shot.
"I’ll be jumping soon. You should stop worrying about me," Greg said sincerely.
"You better be, because I’m starting to miss you," she replied, patting his shoulder before she left.
A small smile flickered across Greg’s face. He didn’t say it, but her concern made him feel warm inside. He actually missed driving her and wanted to get back behind the wheel soon—but Ashley wasn’t about to let that happen until she was sure he was fully healed.
"You’re such a troublemaker," Ashley said to Lorenzo as she dragged him away.
"He glared at me first," he defended, making her shake her head with a smile.
When they reached his house, their lips collided again, impatient and hungry. Lorenzo pinned her against the living room wall. The tension from the elevator scene had been torture for both of them all day.
"You’re driving me crazy," he murmured against her lips. Ashley responded with a soft groan.
Then a soft clearing of the throat made them both jump.
Ashley slipped out of his grasp, her face burning with embarrassment as her eyes landed on the unfamiliar woman sitting calmly on the couch. Her heart stuttered wildly.
Who was she—and why did it feel like the universe was determined to deny them their release today?
