Chapter 59: Meditation
Chapter 59: Meditation
An hour later, Kaiju became accustomed to meditation. To amplify his visualization, he thought of a glacier for the ice element, a cauldron boiling with poison for the poison element, and tried the bulb for the light element but he failed. The Gacha System shared her speculation it should be related to his environment as it was lacking light elements. Kaiju asked why there would be ice and the Gacha System was silent.
Kaiju, however, thought it should be related to Snow’s bloodline. Although Little Gorilla also has a bloodline, Kaiju assumed that his mana core was asking for more ice element rather than light element–most likely, the main factor. Kaiju did not complain though - he could not control his mana core to divide the portion evenly to all the elements he has affinity with - as the mana core already suggested to him what to do.
Furthermore, the constant drawing of elemental energies strengthen his mana pathways, increasing the meditation efficiency.
However...
{Congratulations. *Yawn.* Your mana points increased to one point.}
Kaiju frowned. He shrugged for a while and halted his meditation. He understood the Gacha System’s boredom. After all, he mediated for an hour and only received a single mana point. He could not even be infuriated at her.
He sighed. ’It’s fine. I was only starting.’ He thought. However, he could not shake off the feeling that, even though his assumption might be the biggest reason why he only received a single mana point after an hour, it would still be the same in the future. If it would be, the Kaiju could only accept it.
He opened his eyes and was stunned to see Qwanisha walking from the dark with a wild boar in her hand. It was not as massive as they had for dinner before, it was enough for four of them.
"You were meditating?" Qwanisha’s steps halted. "Do not say that you are meditating on the meditation technique of your pets."
Kaiju shook his head and replied, "No. It’s my meditation technique."
"Who taught you?" Qwanisha’s eyebrows furrowed. He glanced at Snow and LIttle Gorilla, but she saw the former smugly shake her head, followed by Little Gorilla. She snorted.
"I-I..." Kaiju was lost for words. "I buy it from the store. You do not?"
Qwanisha was taken aback and shook her head. "Buying from the store is not advisable. Unless, what is available in the store is suitable for you, especially those common ones."
Kaiju nodded. "I think it is suitable for me."
Qwanisha rolled her eyes. "How are you so sure? You could just have waited for me and I can assess which elements you have affinity with. Whatever, since you are confident, then so be it."
Kaiju nodded, not minding her behavior at all. Qwanisha threw the wild boar at him and Kaiju caught it with ease. He then went straight to cook it.
***
The dinner was not satisfying as Kaiju’s cook was nowhere near Griffin, but Qwanisha still managed to burp while rubbing her stomach. She made a satisfied groan. It was the same with Snow and Little Gorilla. Kaiju then stored the cooking apparatus in his inventory.
He had just received it from Qwanisha as the latter reasoned she did not cook. Since Kaiju cooked for them for a month now, she decided to give the cooking apparatus to him.
The dinner was also not satisfying since Lucy was not present–the dining table and chairs were bought by Qwanisha from her store. She even complained at how stingy Kaiju was and the latter only explained he ran out of money after buying meditation technique. Qwanisha knew Kaiju was not lying, so she let it be.
While rubbing her bulging stomach, Qwanisha said, "The training routine will change now. You already have some knowledge about the Tower, to begin with, even including the other races. You should know which to give the treasures you will obtain soon to acquire their affinity." Qwanisha paused for a while.
Her silence is too loud. Kaiju thought. He waited in silence and she continued.
"So, instead of gaining information, you will be meditating. Only four hours less, it can’t be more than that. You experienced the mental stress from meditating earlier, did you not?"
Kaiju nodded and sighed heavily. "Yes, just visualizing consumes a lot of mental energy. If you don’t mind, let’s increase the sleeping hours."
Qwanisha nodded. "I know. Since you have grasped and improved your battle formation to some extent, you will be focusing on your dagger now and mana manipulation. For the last two weeks, that will be the intensity of our training regarding your battle formation. Let’s focus on what’s important first."
"It seems you have already thought about it. Let’s do that, then." Kaiju nodded.
"I will be exchanging my crossbows for my main bow, too. The long one. I have to grow stronger in the meantime."
Kaiju was stunned and nodded.
"Anyway, were you not training with Snow and Little Gorilla while I was unconscious?"
Kaiju forgot to ask as he was in a hurry to learn about meditation technique and execute it.
"I did not. I gave them a break, too. They should have spent most of it in meditation." Qwanisha casually glanced at them, and the two nodded frantically. "While guarding you, of course."
"I see."
"I also took the chance to scout the burg. The others are working hard. There could barely be any Thralls to be seen outside. However, I speculated that there should be more inside the periphery. The bloodbound must be getting cautious now. They must have been preparing for our raid. We really can’t mess it up."
Kaiju was surprised. "If that is the case, will we not need to practice with others and get accustomed to our own battle style and even perhaps create our battle formation in the process?"
Qwanisha’s eyes widened, guffawed, and shook her head.
"You will know soon."
Kaiju tilted his head from Qwanisha’s attempt to shroud it with mystery.
