Chapter 41: Snow’s Return

Kaiju’s mood soon uplifted from the alteration of Little Gorilla. Little Gorilla finally found a better path, a position whenever they battled. Little Gorilla was a tank support but also possessed offensive skills, making him an all rounder. Perhaps, what he lacked was agility, but it was supplemented by his staff mastery either way, making him the best offensive and defensive of the team.

With Kaiju being on the offensive but more like an assassin type role and Snow being a mage on the back, the beastmaster and his pets finally have a solid group that could even fight against others–even if they banded together. Suddenly, Kaiju had the desire to acquire another pet, but he knew how difficult it would be to obtain one. Obtaining two was by stroke of luck, and another... perhaps, he might have to rely on one.

After all, to obtain a tamed beast as his pet needed their permission. Beasts always loved to roam free, not bound by someone–their ego was as high as humans. Even Kaiju believed he did not want to be someone’s lackey, unless he owed them a lot, like how Snow and Little Gorilla felt towards him.

Kaiju was lost in his own thoughts again and was awakened by Little Gorilla’s geckering, seemingly louder than before. Kaiju glanced at Little Gorilla and the latter was facing his back against him, jumping and beating his chest while uttering the usual monkey noises. Kaiju tilted his head sideways and his eyes widened to spot Snow slithering towards them.

Kaiju abruptly stood up and even utilized his Swift Dash, quickly appearing beside Snow, startling her, and grabbed her to his embrace.

"Snow!" Kaiju, holding Snow with both of his open palms gently, rubbed his cheeks to hers. "I miss you a lot!" He exclaimed.

Hiss!

Snow responded with a jovial noise, intensifying her rub against Kaiju. Little Gorilla soon followed, embracing them with his long arms. His staff was behind his back, while wearing a beast hide to cover his private parts. The beastmaster and his pets soon enjoyed each other’s warmth for a minute, as though they were apart from each other for three months.

Qwanisha and others watched the scene filled with warmth. However, Griffin, who was not fond of cringe moments, broke it by shouting, "Let’s eat!"

"You fucker!" Qwanisha glared and cursed Griffin. "Stop breaking their moments!"

Griffin snorted.

"Were you not drooling earlier? Do you want this food to get cold?"

Qwanisha was speechless. She stared at the massive pot being exposed by an enormous fire. She replied, "Even if a day has passed, it will still be hot. I don’t want to eat food while it’s still boiling either. Do you want us to burn our tongues?"

"Yes, I do."

"Y-You!!!"

"Alright." Max sighed helplessly. He turned to Kaiju and his pets, saying, "Let’s eat now, Kaiju. You and your pets stomach must be growling right now after the intense training. Let’s celebrate!"

Kaiju’s eyes sparkled and nodded. Not pushing Little Gorilla and Snow from his embrace, he walked towards them.

Lucy had long set up a dining table. However, Kaiju was in awe of how the dining table appeared. After all, Lucy waved her staff, not something like buying from the store or extracting something from the inventory to appear. Furthermore, there were sets of logs, massive ones at that, before it disappeared and transformed into the dining table.

In addition, the dining table was filled with design, even seemingly exuding an aura of a noble’s dining table out of the wilderness, out of the Hellish Trial. Kaiju was greatly shaken.

Under his intense gaze, Lucy glanced at Kaiju and felt shy, lowering her head in embarrassment. Snow then answered Kaiju’s curiosity through telepathic communication.

"Big sister Lucy is a creation magician. She can create something out of already existing materials, even elements. That is why she is stronger, even turning fire from wind... she said, combustion or some sort. Her knowledge is really rich.

That is why she can even teach me ice and poison-related spells!

I heard that her single Advance Creation Magic Mastery contains more than 50 skills!"

"More than fifty skills..." Kaiju mumbled.

They caught Kaiju’s mumbling and Qwanisha said with a smile, "Lucy is deadly in her own ways. She’s not a devil, but she’s stronger."

From what Kaiju remembered, most of the skills didn’t appear on the skills status since it was already recorded in the mastery. For instance, slashing skill had been included in the basic weapon mastery. Furthermore, its rank depends on the mastery weapon, too. Perhaps, skills that were independent and didn’t rely on any mastery would only appear in the skills status.

"She’s a devil, though," said Snow through telepathic communication. Kaiju was taken aback, glancing at Lucy setting up the dining table and asked through telepathy, "Why did you think so?"

"The first impression I have of her, like we did, Master, still lingers. Of course, I already liked her and treated her as my big sister!"

Kaiju was perplexed but nodded anyway. Indeed, people often gave us the impression they did not appear the same on the surface but their actions, caused by their inward reaction, conveyed their character.

"Where is the food? What took you so long? I thought you were being hasty!" Qwanisha grinned.

Griffin snorted and arrived beside the dining table. Above them was a floating mini version but still a big pot, while some parts of the massive wild boar was levitating above him. Then, with a snap of his fingers, the parts of the massive wild boar were cut into many pieces and slowly arrived on different plates.

The broth soon followed, levitating and landing on different bowls until there was nothing left. With a wave of his hand, all the cooking apparatus disappeared and was stored inside Griffin’s inventory. Griffin nobly sat on his seat, while Qwanisha snorted.

"Show off as always."

Faith clasped her hand excitedly and said, "Let us pray."
