Chapter 103: Raiding the Burg 4

Kaiju slowly descended. At the same time, he checked his inventory.

{Inventory: {Inventory: Flame Orb [3] (Common), Smoke Bomb [4] (Common), Scroll of Lesser Healing [6] (Rare), Scroll of Lesser Mana Recovery [3] (Rare), Arcane Spark Bomb [5] (Common), Throwing Dagger [15] (Common), Cooking Apparatus, Red Apple [2], Grey Apple [2], Blue Apple [2], Green Apple [2], Bloodthorn Dagger (Rare), Frostfang Dagger (Rare)}

Since Little Gorilla was the first to eat the apple, the remaining was reserved for him and Snow. He checked Little Gorilla’s current attribute status.

{Pet: Little Gorilla

Attributes:

Strength: 83

Agility: 77

Durability: 87

Intelligence: 71}

Compared when he first checked his status during their reunion, there was an immense difference. However, Little Gorilla was still far from maxing his attributes, especially durability.

Those guys are really monsters. They just came a year ahead from me, right? And they maxed out some of their attribute points, though Faith is just almost near, in a year or more? Even if they have Genesis Serum, they did not have the fruits, either. What a bunch of monsters.

Kaiju shook his head, tossing the pessimism at the back of his head. He then distracted himself after remembering he had not checked Snow’s advanced mastery yet.

{Advanced Ice-Poison Magic Mastery (Rare Grade)

Description: This advanced mastery refines Snow’s control over the rare and potent combination of ice and poison magic. Through this mastery, Snow learns to seamlessly merge the two elements, amplifying their effects and granting her access to unique hybrid spells. With this level of expertise, her magic becomes more versatile, deadly, and efficient, solidifying her position as a fearsome hunter’s flame on the battlefield.

Effects:

Elemental Fusion:

Enhances the synergy between ice and poison magic, increasing the potency of hybrid spells by 25%. Combines ice and poison effects into a single attack, allowing Snow to inflict frostbite and toxic damage simultaneously.

Venomous Frost Manipulation:

Grants Snow the ability to coat her ice constructs (shards, spikes, or barriers) with poison, adding a 20% chance to inflict lingering venom damage to enemies in contact with them.

Mana Efficiency:

Reduces mana cost of ice and poison magic by 15%, enabling prolonged use of her abilities in combat.

Chilling Toxin:

Poison effects now include a freezing component, slowing enemy movements. Stacks up to 3 times, further reducing speed and reaction time with each application.

Corrosive Ice:

Ice-based spells now have a corrosive quality, dealing additional durability damage to enemy armor and shields.}

Kaiju was elated to read the effects of the advanced mastery. Compared to his advanced mastery in dagger, the Ice-Poison Magic Mastery was more passive. It was understandable since Snow already had active skills before she ascended it to the advanced rank.

What delighted Kaiju more though was the corrosive effect of her ice–not only her ice has a chilling effect, inflicting frostbite, the corrosion enhanced the toxic effects of the poison. Furthermore, the enhanced synergy effect of ice and poison magic lessened her activation duration.

The system even added a specific reduction percentage of mana for Kaiju to grasp Snow’s power. Indeed, Snow was now a force to be reckoned with. Even Kaiju felt behind his pets’ monstrous growth, but he was not pessimistic, on the contrary, he was exhilarated.

Furthermore, he was a monster himself that even Qwanisha and Griffin acknowledged, so he did not allow himself to suffer from a meaningless depression.

Kaiju slowly and finally descended while he was lost in his worn worlds. He was abruptly awakened when his peripheral vision caught the interior of the burg.

The burg was divided by an outer section filled with ordinary houses and the castle at the center, where Vladislaus resided. The ordinary houses were worn-torn. Kaiju surveyed, scrutinizing every nook and crook and discovered it only aged due to the lack of management.

Supposedly, Bloodbound must improve their living conditions, but since they were in the Trial, the players would rather laze around than build a grandiose castle that would soon be gone in an instant.

Kaiju spotted some Thralls, but he did not bother himself, letting Snow take them out. As Kaiju descended earlier, he was walking forward, so he did not notice the numerous carcasses near the wall, falling from above.

Suddenly, Kaiju’s eyes flashed with cold glint, instructing Snow to take down the nearby bloodbound, sleeping. The bloodbound must have not received the message of his raid and was now in slumber.

Of course, Kaiju didn’t mind putting his slumber into eternity.

Kaiju now rarely encountered intense battles like before, as he was able to take them out. Soon, he was near the castle of Vladislaus...

***

The castle of Vladislaus did not have a wall, as the outer section directly connected to his castle. However, Kaiju knew why there was no need for a wall. It would be a living thing that would stop anyone from entering the castle without permission.

Kaiju’s senses were heightened, as he sauntered forward. Little Gorilla and Snow covered the areas his eyes would not be able to, being vigilant and protective towards their master. Finally, when Kaiju reached a certain distance, he halted.

He was literally just a hundred meters away from one of the opened doors leading inside the castle. Kaiju was aware there was a trap waiting for him and his intuition corrected his assumption.

He did not even bother to say something, activating his Emotionless skill, while squinting his eyes, staring at the entrance.

The castle of Vladislaus has a design similar to the renaissance. However, his castle was forlorn and bleak, he even spotted cobwebs in some corner. Kaiju’s main focus was not to admire the castle, but to gaze at the shadow for dozens of seconds without blinking.

Finally, he decided to take his first step, but producing noise louder than before.

He then stopped.

He opened his eyes wide and was finally welcomed by a dense killing intent exuding inside the entrance. He smiled coldly, finally seeing the appearance of the Crimson Knight.

Bloodbound was taller, but they were six feet at most. However, the Crimson Knight was approximately ten feet tall, and his body framework was bulkier than a Thrall. He was wearing heavy armor and an enormous double-headed ax on his right hand.

Every step made the earth tremble and everything only calmed down when it halted, facing Kaiju while baring his fangs, releasing a toxic gas when he breathed. At the same time, Little Gorilla and Snow dispersed, while Kaiju remained on his spot, scrutinizing the appearance of the Crimson Knight.

He grinned and mocked, "You are uglier than the Thrall."
