Under the warm golden glow of the hotel’s private dining room, laughter echoed. The wrap party was near the end, everyone was relaxed and happy except one. Leo McKay’s jaw was clenched so tightly it felt it might shatter. He sat rigid in his chair, the room spinning as the faint remnants of perfume overwhelmed his senses. Beneath the table, he discreetly kicked his manager’s shin with a sharp jab. The polished tie of his shoe made an impact, jolting Manager Hurt from his phone screen.
Hurt blinked at Leo, confused.
Then he got a good look at Leo, his pale face was now unnaturally flushing, beads of sweat forming along his temple, his pupils dilated as if he had run a marathon...
"Leo?"
Leo didn’t speak. He simply shot him a sharp look, one that screamed do something now.
He was at his wit’s end. All of the blood had rushed to one place. He couldn’t breathe properly. And above all, he couldn’t let himself be the subject of mocking and laughing.
Finally, the manager realised something was amiss. Without a word, Hurt stood up, with a polite smile and said loudly. "Oh God! When did you get this drunk? Come, let’s get you some fresh air."
He put a hand around Leo’s shoulder and guided him, half dragging, out of event space and down to the elevator. He found the reserved suite at the end of the corridor and used the keycard to unlock it.
As soon as the door was opened, Leo pushed him away, stumbling forward with unsteady steps. He breathed rapidly.
Manager Hurt asked awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.
"Do you need help?"
"No..." Leo snapped through clenched teeth, grinding his molars. "Just lock the damn door. And watch out for anyone suspicious. Don’t let anyone in."
Manager Hurt nodded and pulled the door shut behind him with a soft click.
Standing on guard in the hallway. It wasn’t that long before a hotel security guard asked him to leave. Manager Hurt had no choice but to leave Leo’s room.
Inside Leo walked toward the bedroom. He was sweating nonstop, his shirt soaked, legs weak beneath him. Suddenly he tripped and fell on the bed. He moaned, feeling electrified.
He tried to move, but his body didn’t obey his mind. All of his strengths had drained from him. Only his mind was alert and sharp. If he found out about who the culprit was, he would skin him alive. Wave after wave intense desire engulfed him. His sanity was tortured alongside his body. His eyes blurred, and his eyelids felt heavy, struggling to remain open. In the end, he closed his eyes.
Suddenly, his over-sensitive mind heard a clicking sound. He held his breath. Who could it be? The manager? Or the culprit?! He couldn’t even open his eyes.
Footsteps came closer and closer. Panic surged in his chest.
A shadow cast across the bed. He could feel the weight of a gaze on himself. Disgust and dread crawled across his skin. A hand, warm and sticky, touched his cheek.
"Such a cold face... tsk..." the man murmured, voice low, almost amused. "What does she see in you?"
Leo’s blood ran cold. It was his manager’s voice but not quite right....
"If you had just listened to me..." the voice whispered again, now closer, hotter, fouler. "You wouldn’t have ended up like this...."
The next touch wasn’t gentle. Fingers roamed over his body, tearing at buttons and fabric. Leo’s body screamed in revulsion but wouldn’t move.
Bile rose in his throat. He would be a damn stupid donkey if he could not understand what was going on.
Once again, he was betrayed... by his manager... why? Why was this happening to him? He had chosen this man himself, tempting him with money and fame over and over, but Hurt didn’t even blink when he refused... he had thought he had found the perfect manager...
A sudden, unwanted touch to his most vulnerable place made Leo let out a deep involuntary growl. A sound of pure rage and humiliation.
The hand stopped. "Oh... " Hurt said, voice gleeful now. "you are not out cold... perfect. It will be even better this way."
A sick laugh. Then a wet, spitting sound.
"Look at you now, All that pointless work. Did you think you were tempting me? Why would I be tempted when can I own you? When can I have you in the palm of my hand? After tonight, you will work for me like a cow, until the day you die."
Leo tried again to move, muscles screaming. His fingers twitched uselessly.
There was a pause, then the unmistakable click of a recorder being turned on.
"Hehe, that’ll be juicy...."
Leo tried to move, to do anything. He couldn’t let himself be a helpless lamb ready to be slaughtered.
Amid his panic, he heard a knocking sound.
"Damn it, who the hell is that?!" the manager snarled and got up from the bed, marching to the door.
Leo could hear him pacing, his footsteps angry and erratic.
After a few minutes, the knocking stopped, and there was no movement outside.
The manager returned to the bedroom, huffing, clearly annoyed and ready to resume his assault.
But fate had something else planned.
A shadow slid in through the balcony. Silent. Quick. A figure dressed in black edged along the wall, peering through the crack in the door to the bedroom.
The figure tensed at the scene. In one swift motion, the figure grabbed a solid lampstand, raised it high, and brought it crashing down.
Crack.
A groan, a yelp, and then a heavy thud.
Leo lay still, barely breathing. His heart was pounding in his chest.
He heard rustling. Then a sharp breathless voice.
"Shit! What the hell? Where is that damn actress?! Why is this pig... Ugh..."
There was gagging. Real. Genuine horror.
"Ah, I swear to God! I’m gonna castrate him! Are you kidding me?"
Leo felt the voice sound like an angel...
"What should I do with Leo?! Leave him here? Like this? Naked?! And oh! Wow! How can someone even have this kind of?!"
There was a pause. Then, restlessly, a blanket covered him.
"Out of sight, out of mind." the stranger muttered.
"Let’s deal with the manager first."
The male voice said.
There was some sound of pulling on the ground and dragging, followed by more cursing.
Leo wasn’t sure if this person was a foe or a friend. But he was grateful that at least the manager was dealt with. And that was enough.
