From Villain to Virtual Sweetheart: The Fake Heir's Grand Scheme(BL) -
Chapter 102: The Name is RogueOverlord
Chapter 102: The Name is RogueOverlord
That evening, the university training field had fallen into a rare hush. Most of the freshmen were either too exhausted to speak or had passed out cold after the brutal first day. They had returned to their respective dorms like defeated soldiers returning to their hometowns.
Sergeant Seth McKay stood at the edge of the road, watching students scatter. He leaned on a brick pillar, chewing on a piece of dried grass. His brows were furrowed as he pulled out his phone. After a moment of hesitation, he tapped the contact and brought it to his ear.
The line clicked.
"William, could you help me check someone out?" Seth’s voice was low but serious, cutting straight to the point.
"Hmm?" came a cold voice on the other end. "Is it personal?"
Seth threw the grass aside. "Yeah. I saw someone today. A student. He looked similar to what Leo had described. The boy who saved him. But I am not sure. He is too young."
A beat of silence passed.
"How about his physical strength? Could he carry Leo?" William asked.
"Yeah. He’s got an unusual physical resilience for his age. He stood through the entire endurance drill without budging while the others dropped like flies. Not to say, he was late because of hospitalisation."
William exhaled. "Fine. Send me his name. I’ll look into it."
"Thanks," Seth said quietly before ending the call.
He remained still for a moment, then slowly walked to the bush behind the dorms.
He thought that if the boy was really the saviour of Leo, he should be monitored. At this young age and this through?! Covering his tracks like a pro?
Suddenly, he caught a flash of movement on the wall.
"Who was bold enough to sneak out on the first night?" he muttered, his lips curling into a smile.
He picked up his pace, hunting his first prey for disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, in dormitory 306, Micah flopped to bed, exhausted. The mattress was stiff, and his muscles were protesting.
The ceiling fan worked at its max, but still, the air in the room was hot and humid.
At least they were allowed to use their phones in their rooms. He groaned and rolled into his stomach, tapping through the usual flood of family messages. His father’s overly concerned texts, his mother’s preaching, and Aria’s teasing. He smiled, replying to them one by one. Then he scrolled down until he stopped on two messages.
AAA: The car was repaired.
A picture followed, a shot of a sleek, shiny car roof.
Micah’s smile widened. That was fast.
RogueOverlord: My money was spent wisely, then.
AAA: Tch. I was going to charge you extra after your stunt... but I pitied you. What if you starved tonight, you broke brat?
RogueOverlord: What? Are you talking about yourself?
AAA: Still a brat. Tsk.
RogueOverlord: Still a loser!
Micah stifled a laugh and closed the chat. His gaze landed on another message.
DescentOftheDarkOne: Good night.
The message was sent the night before. Micah pressed his lips together.
RogueOverlord: Night.
Just as he was about to put his phone away, Nick flopped onto the bed beside him.
"What are you doing? Texting someone?" he asked, peeking at Micah’s screen with a mischievous grin.
"Yeah."
"Girlfriend?!"
"Nope. Family."
"Aya... you are also a single dog like us?" Nick lay down, losing his curiosity. "I was hoping at least one of us would have a spicy love life we could live through."
"What’s the rush?" Eddie chimed in. "We are surrounded by hotties now. It’s like a buffet!"
"As if any hot girl is standing in line waiting for you, macho boy? More like the buffet’s closed, and you’re standing holding an empty plate!" Nick jabbed at him.
"What’s wrong with me?" Eddie said, standing and flexing both arms, his muscles rippling under the light. "Look at my body! They call me Michelangelo."
"No one calls you that!" Nick laughed.
Eddie moved his hips, thrusting in a mock dance. "They all will call me Sex Machine..."
Micah snorted and threw a pillow at Eddie’s face. "Delusional! All that bodybuilding training has killed your brain cells!"
"Oh oh? The silver squirrel dares to challenge me?" Eddie stepped forward, catching the pillow mid-air.
Micah also sprang to his feet. "Silver Squirrel?"
"Yeah, you’re fast, twitchy and pale. It fits." Eddie grinned.
Nick nearly choked laughing. "That’s it!"
"Come at me, Buzzcut Machine, let me show you what a squirrel could do!" Micah got into a fighting stance, beckoning Eddie to step forward.
Eddie threw the pillow aside, raising an eyebrow, and he rushed forward.
Before they could exchange some blows, Nick stood between them. "Time out, Heroes! It’s group chat time!"
Then he began to go around the room and add everyone.
"We need to stick together. Call ourselves...Heroes of 306."
A flurry of messages started pinging.
GourmetGuru: Welcome!
FastTrackChamp: Yo!
PeppyPanda: ...
RogueOverlord: haha! I can guess who is who!
Micah burst out laughing.
"Like yours is any better!" Eddie rolled his eyes.
Through all the tension and bickering, Emile sat silently on his bed. His brows were furrowed, and he kept glancing at his own phone like it had grown horns.
He was puzzled by Dean’s message earlier. Why did his uncle want him to get close to Micah?!
He quickly typed to Dean.
PeppyPanda: What exactly is little uncle after?!
The reply came instantly.
Dean: he said asking him how and when he had burned his hand? Or what is his WeChat account name?
Emile’s eyebrow shot through the roof. What was with these questions? What use did his uncle have for them?!
PeppyPanda: The burn, at the hospital, he said something about getting it while cooking. And his WeChat is RogueOverlord.
Emile pressed the send button, feeling incredulous.
*******
"Uncle, Emile has replied," Dean said, knocking on Clyde’s study.
"So?!"
"Here. This is it." Dean pushed his screen toward his uncle.
Clyde’s sharp eyes narrowed as he read it once, then read again.
All of a sudden, he chuckled.
Dean, standing awkwardly by the desk, blinked like he had seen a ghost.
His expression turned to one of disbelief, what was happening. His cold, stoic uncle laughed?! Really? Laugh? Not smirk? Or an angry one?! Was this the end of the world?!
He had read that message. What was funny about it?!
Clyde returned Dean’s phone and leaned back in his chair.
Then he pulled out his phone and opened the WeChat app.
Yeah. It was the same. RogueOverlord.
That boy had really set him as a target!
How bold!
What was he after?! Messaging him anonymously. Cross-dressing and appearing in front of him. Getting close to Jacklin...
It all made sense if he was to catch his attention. He was really intrigued now!
"Let’s see what your motive is, little fox," Clyde murmured under his breath.
Poor Micah, he didn’t know he had been labelled mistakenly as a fox for targeting the patriarch of the Du Pont family.
******
Ding.
Back in the dorm, Micah’s phone lit up with a new message.
RiverBridge: Thanks for your tips. How can I help you???
Micah bolted upright, almost dropping His phone. "Holy crap!" he breathed.
It was Aidan Wilson. The Aidan Wilson, who had ignored his messages until now, had finally replied!
