Chapter 924: The Crystal Token Struggle
"Leave that crystal token!" shouted one elite from behind, their eyes red with envy as they watched the other person take two tokens in succession.
The Path of All Immortals continued to release tokens. The top-tier elites noticed that their opponent was only at the middle Soul Formation stage, so they gave up chasing them and went after the other newly released tokens.
They planned to challenge them later and reclaim at least two tokens.
The top elites weren’t concerned, but the other elites were—many were already one step behind. It was likely they’d miss out on other crystal, but these two tokens still presented an opportunity.
Soon, two more elites were hot on their target’s trail. They quickly realized a harsh truth: they couldn’t keep up. They followed their target’s relentless pace, watching as another crystal token fell into their hands, their envy making their eyes burn red.
Darn it! This person’s cultivation level wasn’t high, so why were they so fast? If this continued, they’d be left with nothing and dragged around the entire field.
One elite gave up in frustration, while the other hesitated for a moment but gritted their teeth and kept chasing.
They’d already come this far—if they had given up now, all their previous efforts would have been for nothing. Besides, the area was only so big. Surely their target couldn’t keep running forever.
Amalia focused on the closer crystal tokens. Each time a token appeared, several flew in different directions, rarely two in the same path except at the start.
Jiheon Yang guarded the front, but suddenly, a shadow flashed past him at incredible speed. By the time he realized it, the figure was already far ahead.
He instantly recognized the shadow as Amalia—the person he’d wanted to punish earlier. To his horror, he saw a crystal token flying out of the Path of All Immortals and coming directly toward her.
Jiheon Yang gritted his teeth and shot forward like a rocket, the spiritual power igniting around him as he chased after Amalia.
To his despair, however, she was several seconds ahead and had already gained enough distance. In this fast-paced contest, those few seconds made all the difference.
Jiheon Yang helplessly watched as Amalia tucked the crystal token safely away.
It was as if the token had fallen right into her hands. There was nothing more infuriating than having something you believed to be yours snatched away—especially by someone you wanted to eliminate.
"Leave the crystal token, and I’ll spare your pathetic life!" Jiheon Yang shouted, his veins bulging in fury.
Amalia glanced at him, kept the crystal token, and walked away.
"What a shame," Tan Kai sighed from above.
The other disciples didn’t understand his words, so Peak Master Bomen asked directly, "Sixth Elder, what’s the shame?"
Tan Kai smiled, "Do you know why Amalia was able to get ahead of Jiheon Yang and snatch that crystal token?"
"Please enlighten us, Sixth Elder," everyone said, puzzled.
"When only a corner of that token first appeared, she anticipated it," Tan Kai explained with a smile.
"No way, could someone really predict that?"
"If you observed the patterns of the earlier tokens carefully, it’s not impossible. Though luck plays a role too," Tan Kai admitted. Despite knowing this, he realized it was no easy feat, and Amalia’s sharp foresight surprised him.
The group watched as Jiheon Yang chased Amalia, who was held back by her cultivation level. With such skills, she could have secured even more tokens if not for that limitation—a real shame.
As predicted, this round had more black and gold tokens than previous ones, with the crystal tokens increasing by nearly half, totaling forty-nine.
After an intense contest, all tokens found owners, though only thirty-nine people obtained crystal tokens, as some held two, and one even held three.
Kenny Lin was the one with three crystal tokens. The elite trailing him had lost all reason by now. He had no way back.
After leading his pursuer in circles, Kenny Lin glanced in a certain direction, then stopped, swiftly drawing his longsword.
This was not the pseudo-divine sword that Amalia had forged for him, but rather the one from Master Lian giving to him.
Seeing him finally stop, the elite sighed in relief. The boundary had limits, and if he kept running, there was no guarantee he could catch up.
"Hand over the three crystal tokens, and I’ll spare your life," the elite declared arrogantly, confident in his higher cultivation level. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have pursued so persistently.
"Lightflash—Strike!" Kenny Lin vanished in a blink, his sword drawn and determined to taste blood.
The elite smirked, having grown accustomed to Kenny Lin’s Lightflash. He didn’t understand the move exactly, but he felt confident that someone at mid Soul Formation stage couldn’t defeat him so easily.
A flash of blood erupted as Kenny Lin’s sword pierced his shoulder faster than he could react, severing the arm that held his treasure.
A dazed look crossed the elite’s face, not yet registering that he’d lost his arm. When a drop of blood splattered on his cheek, it was like a switch flipped. Sweating in panic, he watched Kenny Lin’s figure disappear without hesitation.
"A top-tier elite!"
Every elite watching this scene narrowed their eyes.
Since Kenny Lin held three crystal tokens, many had their sights set on him. When the elite attacked, the others had held back, hoping he’d test Kenny Lin’s strength first—only to see him fall with a single blow.
A middle of the Soul Formation stage defeating an opponent with one strike—this was truly the strength of a top-tier elite.
Amalia was relentlessly chased by Jiheon Yang, who was determined to reclaim the crystal token from her. Although his sect had ordered him not to kill her before recovering the Eight Gods Blade, they didn’t forbid him from injuring her.
Jiheon Yang’s eyes gleamed with malice, and he pushed forward, closing in on Amalia, nearly catching up. Suddenly, Amalia made a sharp turn, darting into the territory of the Green Lotus Sect, where the elite disciples like Jirandai Tang and Taeseon Lei were positioned.
