Chapter 918: Arrival at Ten Thousand Floating Island: Rivals and Foes

A flying boat carrying a group of scattered cultivators had flown too low while refilling its spiritual energy, allowing a strange creature to smash it from below. All the cultivators fell into the sea.

The slower ones were instantly dragged under by creatures from below, barely making a ripple. They didn’t even have a chance to fight back.

Out of sympathy, the Green Lotus Sect allowed a few survivors onboard, but only around ten of the original two hundred survived. There wasn’t just one giant creature lurking below.

Some people tried to escape back to the shore, but they didn’t get far before being pulled under by the creatures below.

Standing beside her, Elder Wang replied, "A small number are here to spectate, but most are here to cultivate during the Awakening of the Path of All Immortals."

The duration depends on the number of tokens—the more symbols, the longer it lasts, usually between fifteen to thirty minutes. Amalia shook her head without hesitation. "No need. I’m confident in my own breakthrough. Right now, finding the token is more important."

In the crowd, Jirantal Tang glanced at his junior brother. His junior brother had been right; she wouldn’t risk cultivating there.

The rescued cultivators were immensely grateful to the Green Lotus Sect. Too intimidated to disturb Tan Kai, they gathered around Elder Wang, chatting excitedly. As they approached, they noticed more and more flying boats and people.

Their arrival brought a small spark of liveliness to the otherwise deserted Ten Thousand Floating Island. The sky was filled with flying cultivators from different factions of the Mystic Void Continent, with the majority being unaffiliated cultivators. Independent cultivators made up a large portion of the population; while many feared death, even more were drawn by the promise of rewards.

After two hours, their boat finally reached a vast, open area with gentle mountains surrounding it, and people gathered all around.

Amalia scanned the area, noting no signs of previous battles.

"Is the entrance to the Path of All Immortals randomly located?" she wondered aloud.

"Exactly. That’s why every year, sects send their best to search for it. When the Path of All Immortals is about to open, space around Ten Thousand Floating Island becomes unstable, making it easier to detect," Renshu Chang explained, finally reaching her side.

"I was going to tell you about the spiritual mist of the Path of All Immortals, but it looks like Elder Wang beat me to it."

"No worries," Amalia replied. "So, how much longer until the Path of All Immortals opens?"

"No one really knows. It’s a mystery left by the immortals, and even the strongest in the Mystic Void Continent can’t accurately predict when it will open."

Amalia looked around at the crowd. "No wonder every major power is here. So many people competing for the token—each faction seems to have sent over a dozen members."

"There are only a few groups to really watch out for," Renshu Chang replied. "The others are mostly here to make up numbers. Look over there at Eternal One Sect. They’ll probably be our biggest competition this time."

Amalia had already noticed. Since they arrived, several hostile gazes from Eternal One Sect had been directed straight at her, sharp and hard to ignore.

"That young man in black with three swords on his back? That’s Temujin Lei. Like you, he practices the Eight Gods Blades; most others only know the Seven Gods Blades."

"Eternal One Sect came to demand our Eight Gods Blades technique before but failed. They’ve probably held a grudge ever since. During the Path of All Immortals, they’ll almost certainly try to harm you. If they can’t get the Eight Gods Blades back, they might even try to erase all evidence," Renshu Chang added.

Behind them, Junior Brother Hsu shook his head in sympathy for Renshu Chang. Renshu Chang worked tirelessly to provide detailed introductions of every group and faction to their two martial uncle and aunt. Being the second disciple of the sect leader was no easy task, as it meant constantly having to impress their elders.

Oblivious to Junior Brother Hsu’s thoughts, Renshu Chang continued introducing more factions, such as the Divine Maiden Sect, Beast Tamer Valley, and Nine Cauldron Sect, as well as the Light Demon Sect and Demonic Night Sect. He also covered minor factions and individual cultivators.
