Chapter 91: Killing The Incubus Boy (Part 1)
"Increase your strength," Kenny Lin opened his eyes, the light was reflected in his eyes as he glanced towards Amalia, his smile not overly radiant but more like an expectation.
Amalia ultimately didn’t ask Kenny Lin about the purpose of his visit to Big Apple City, and just assuming that it was for those monster and demon cultivators.
The next day, she prepared to leave to purchase materials.
Kenny Lin followed her as she got ready to go out, trailing behind her. Just when she thought they would part ways downstairs...
"Why are you following me?" Amalia turned to look at Kenny Lin, who was still following her every move.
A slight smirk appeared on Kenny Lin’s lips.
"To protect my employer?"
Speechless, Amalia decided to go along with him.
Amalia’s progress in refining artifact had surpassed the materials available at Boss Zenon’s shop. Later on, she was recommended to another place by Boss Zenon
That is his brother’s shop. Both of the brothers sold refining materials, but Boss Zenon’s brother offered higher-grade materials that come through special channels, including rare ones.
When Amalia went to Boss Zenon’s shop to bought materials for the first time, the materials that were not on the list was founded by Boss Zenon from his brother.
Knowing that Amalia was introduced by his younger brother, Boss Zenon’s brother was quite accommodating, and manage to provided most of the materials she needed, except for a few.
"These few are a bit challenging,"
Amalia looked at some ore that was mentioned by Boss Zenon’s brother.
"Can i get them?"
"You’re introduced by my younger brother, so naturally, yes," Boss Zenon chuckled.
"The difficulty lies in the fact that these ores are found only underwater. Ms Vanquez must be aware about the conditions under the sea. If it’s in a diving zone, it’s manageable."
If it weren’t for Kenny Lin’s remarks last night, Amalia would have been confused at this momemnt. In her view, with current human technology, extracting underwater ores wasn’t particularly difficult, especially for a spirit cultivator.
"How long will it take?" Amalia asked.
"At least five days."
Amalia frowned, "Can it be faster?"
Among these ores was one specifically needed for the artifact she was planning to make for Martin’s younger daughter. Time was a bit tight, and considering her upcoming plans to head to the Royal Durian City later on.
Boss Zenon’s brother had already heard from his younger brother about this exceptional Ms Vanquez, He secretly though that someone who could repeatedly emphasized by his brother must be somewhat capable. Thus, he said, "I’ll try to find the materials within three to four days."
"Thank you."
After expressing her gratitude, Amalia left with the materials she had. In front of Kenny Lin, she stored the materials in the Soltice Ring, that appearing as if she were placing them in a storage item.
Kenny Lin’s expression remained unaffected throughout.
"Are you going to keep following me?" Amalia turned back to ask.
Kenny Lin tilted his head slightly, and his eyes narrowed a bit. "I have a quick way to kill the Incubus Boy."
Amalia asked, "What method?"
"Return to the stall area, and lure him out, so we won’t need to search for him."
It involved taking risks, but Amalia seriously considered it for a moment and nodded in agreement, "Alright."
"Aren’t you afraid?" Kenny Lin inquired.
Amalia replied with a question, "Afraid of what?"
Kenny Lin stared at her without pretense or forced composure, and smiling gently, "Let’s go."
He led the way ahead.
Amalia trailed behind, her gaze fixated on the tall, lean figure ahead. The sunlight dragged his shadow, slanting across his feet; she only need to take one step forward and she could step on his shadow, but it was merely a shadow.
Sometimes, she would wonder what kind of family could nurture such a person, whether they were righteous or wicked.
Since Amalia stopped coming, Lyasandre and the others had returned to their original trio.
Although customers lamented Amalia’s absence from the stall, they still continued to visit. Ironically, owing to Amalia’s influence, business in the area flourished more than before.
Because wheter it was Lyasandre, the chubby stall owner, or the old stall owner, their skills in refining artifact had been improved and customers gradually placed more trust in them.
The most significant change was in Lyasandre.
Previously, he had to rely more on persuasion to attract young customers. Now, even without saying a word, customers still came specifically for him.
One day, while Lyasandre was repairing an artifact for a student, the Incubus Boy arrived.
"Speak up! Where’s that womem surnamed Vanquez!" the Incubus Boy, who hadn’t found Amalia, finally returned to the usual spot where she used to set up her stall.
With a face full of malice, he grabbed Lyasandre’s neck.
The student was trembled, and hiding behind the wall.
Amid Lyasandre’s struggles, the stall was overturned.
"Let go of Lyasandre."
The chubby stall owner immediately tood up, and shouting loudly.
The Incubus Boy didn’t turn his head, but he raised his hand and struck it hard, and a grey force surged towards the chubby stall owner.
If the old stall owner hadn’t swiftly deployed a defensive artifact, and forming a shield to protect the chubby stall owner, the latter might have fallen already.
The shield shattered instantly, indicating that the Incubus Boy didn’t hold back his power; he was determined to kill someone and create deterence on them.
"What do you want? We’ve already told you, we don’t know this Ms. Vanquez. You’ve got the wrong people." The old stall owner, supporting the chubby one’s back with one hand, and spoke coldly.
The Incubus Boy sneered, "Don’t know? She’s been setting up shop here for over a month. How could you not know? If you don’t talk, I’ll kill him first, and then you!"
"In broad daylight, you dare to kill? Aren’t you afraid of the Spirit Cultivators Association that will come after you? If I’m not mistaken, you should be the Incubus Boy, one of the ’Accacia Duo’ on the bounty board. Your whereabouts have alwayps been an interest to the Spirit Cultivators Association," the old stall owner had considerable knowledge.
