Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World -
Chapter 88: Sending The Artifact
Chapter 88: Sending The Artifact
The security guards at the residential area emitted the aura of spirit cultivators. Apparently, Martin had briefed them. As soon as they heard his name, they immediately let Amalia in, made a phone call, and then had someone to take her into Martin’s house.
When Amalia saw Martin, Mr. Quentin was not there, but he saw two unexpected people.
"It’s you! How come you’re here?" Mikel also noticed her, and pleasantly surprised.
Martin looked surprised, "Do you both know each other?"
Hubert who is beside them grinned, and said: "Uncle Carnales, she’s the artificer me and Mikel talk about. I wanted to introduce you her, but it turns out you already know Ms. Vanquez first. The world is really small!"
"That’s quite a coincidence," Martin smiled kindly and then invited Amalia to take a seat.
After Amalia sat down, she took out the artifact she had repaired and handed it over to Martin.
Seeing the artifact that has been repaired, Martin was delighted. Although that guy Quentin highly praised Ms. Vanquez, he hadn’t seen it personally. But now, seeing it with his own eyes and with Mikel’s assurance, Amalia’s position and value in his mind rose to a higher level.
"Ms. Vanquez truly didn’t disappoint me. Not only did the artifact maintain its original state, but it also enhanced some functionalities. Its really Impressive," Martin sighed with emotion.
"Ms. Vanquez’s repairing techniques are superb, and I presume her skills in refining artifacts are equally formidable."
Amalia lightly raised her eyebrows, "Mr. Carnales is overly kind. If there’s an artifact you desire, I can give it a try."
"Ms. Vanquez is straightforward. I won’t hide it; I’ve been worried recently about something. I have a pair of twin sons. A month ago, my elder son purchased an artifact at an auction. The younger one has been clamoring for a similar artifact but with different attributes."
"As Ms. Vanquez knows, very few artificer could produce two identical artifacts with different attributes," Martin explained helplessly, yet contentedly.
"Ms. Vanquez, you don’t know, but my two sons possess astonishing destructive power. Many artifacts in their hands barely last a month. I really don’t know how they manage to destroy them," Mikel commented with a click of his tongue.
"Being able to destroy an artifacts also proves their strength," Amalia remarked truthfully.
Martin was greatly pleased, "That’s true. That’s true. So, I wonder if Ms. Vanquez have a solution?"
There’s hardly any parent who doesn’t like others praising their children.
Amalia asked to see the artifact and Martin immediately agreed and asked the servant to go up and call the eldest son down. However, when the servant came down, the eldest son was not seen.
After examining the artifact, Amalia said, "I’ll take the artifact back. The materials for the advanced grade artifact are exhausted. I need to find some more, and I’ll deliver it in a week."
If she had the materials, it wouldn’t take even two days. However, she didn’t plan to let others know her situation. Moreover, some materials might be harder to find, and a bit more time would be more convenient.
However, Amalia was unaware that a week was considered fast in Martin’s view. He had consulted with other artificers, such as Master Juan, whose materials were readily available and still required at least half a month.
"In a week, I’ll personally come to collect it. I won’t trouble Ms. Vanquez to deliver it. May I ask where Ms. Vanquez resides?" Martin spoke casually, and careful try not to offend Amalia, given that more talented artificers tended to be proud.
Despite Amalia never displaying arrogance from start to finish, Martin didn’t want to leave a negative impression. Some artificers might hold grudges, even if they didn’t show it.
Upon hearing this, Amalia shook her head, "Unfortunately, I’m planning to move soon, and I haven’t finalized my new address. If Mr. Carnales doesn’t mind, I’ll provide an address after successfully refining the artifact."
"That would works," Martin replied with a smile, he just assuming that Amalia didn’t want to disclose her residence.
Mikel initially had something to discuss with her, but since he had just arrived at Martin’s residence, he choose to held back. He thought he’d talk to her again next time, but unexpectedly, that next time didn’t come even until they reached back to the Royal Durian City.
After leaving Mikel’s residence, Amalia received a phone call.
"Lysandre?" It surprised Amalia that Lysandre would take an initiative to call his communication number.
Lysandre had an awkward personality. As soon as he see Amalia’s suprised expression, he knew what she was thinking, and he start to look uncomfortable.
"Uh, well, I’m looking out for you not because i’m worried about you, but it because i’m worried about everyone’s safety," Lysandre spoke awkwardly.
"I understand," Amalia nodded.
Seeing her earnest demeanor, Lysandre’s face reddened, and trying to cover it up by gruffly saying, "Do you have some enemy? A dangerous-looking person came this morning and asking about you. Mr. Chubby and Mr. Sanchez also said that person isn’t good person."
Amalia remembered what Kenny Lin mentioned in the morning. It was likely that the person was the brother of the Succubus girl, the Incubus boy. Fortunately, she didn’t go there in the morning.
"Do you know who it is?" Lysandre saw her expression and noticed something amiss.
"It’s my enemy. If he shows up again, you guys can just say we’re not acquainted, just like today. In broad daylight, he shouldn’t dare to act," Amalia advised.
"We don’t need you to tell us that. And I don’t want to be associated with you at all, that person just by appearace is already look so dangerous," Lysandre grunted.
Amalia lightly smiled.
After hesitating for a moment, Lysandre asked, "Hey, you wouldn’t coming back anymore?"
Amalia nodded, "Yeah, I probably won’t come back again."
Heavenly Path University was about to start, and in her current situation, there was no need for her to go there anymore. Repairing ordinary artifacts from ordinary spirit cultivators had no effect on her anymore.
Lysandre’s eyes darkened, and murmuring, "Then we might never see each other again."
"What did you say?" His voice was too soft, and Amalia didn’t hear clearly.
Lysandre exploded like a cat with its tail stepped on, "Nothing! it’s fine if you don’t come. I’ll be happier if you stay away."
Amusement flickered in Amalia’s eyes, she said: "Lysandre, your talent is not bad. If you drop your burden, i believe you can go further. Your achievements aren’t limited to what you thinking now."
Lysandre didn’t show a happy expression but instead seemed doused in cold water, responding coldly, "So what? I’m not young anymore. It’s too late for anything now."
"If you genuinely want to get stronger, it’s never be too late. Just like I started working with artifacts less than two years ago, others have been at it since childhood. Yet I’ve come farther than them. You can do it too," Amalia tried to comfort him, or at least that was her intention.
However, It turned out he had no knack for comforting people. Instead of comforting Lysandre, she succeeded in making him explode again.
With a swift click, he ended the communication.
"What’s wrong?" The chubby stall owner saw him leaving with a furrowed brow, and returning agitatedly. But knowing who he had called, he cheerfully asked.
Lysandre, fuming, and said, "That women, I won’t ever call her again. I kindly reminded her to be cautious, and do you know what she said?"
