Chapter 864: Collision of Beasts and Hunters

"Which major sects remain?"

"Green Lotus Sect, Eternal One Sect, and the Divine Maiden Sect."

"These three sects are very crucial. If we can’t get to them, we may need to sacrifice some of our pawns." The powerful devil paused before asking, "What about Osmos and Rehimes?"

"We haven’t received any word from them yet. I’ll send someone to contact them immediately."

The powerful devil nodded and then looked in the direction of Ten Thousand Beast Mountain. His dark eyes gleamed with cunning as he silently willed chaos to unfold.

Ten Thousand Beast Mountain was unusually quiet. The demonic beasts that lived there moved cautiously, aware of the strange atmosphere.

Vryss’laar, Zhar’khaen, and Gor’kan, using their familiarity with the mountain, stealthily approached the territory of a powerful demonic beast.

"Where are you going? I won’t agree to this!" Gor’kan cut off Zhar’khaen before he could finish speaking.

"We have no choice but to go now if we want to lure them out," Zhar’khaen replied calmly.

On the side, Vryss’laar shook his head. "Zhar’khaen, you’re courting death. What if we can’t escape?"

Especially with me being a burden, he thought.

"We’ll be fine. The humans will eventually find us. Hiding in Ten Thousand Beast Mountain indefinitely won’t solve anything. Besides, I’m worried about our new kin. This is the fastest way to get out. Once they’re temporarily occupied, we’ll have a chance to regroup. And don’t forget, we have the Breath Pearl—there’s nothing to fear."

Zhar’khaen was now worried that the two humans wouldn’t wait for him and might take his kin’s young cub, running around and encountering danger.

As soon as he mentioned their new kin, Gor’kan and Vryss’laar fell silent for a moment.

Zhar’khaen pressed on, "I’ve noticed devils are hunting humans everywhere. Our new kin is so weak. What if a devil finds...him?"

He almost slipped and said "them."

"Is he really that weak?" Gor’kan asked seriously.

Zhar’khaen nodded firmly, "Do I have any reason to lie about this?"

"Not really," Vryss’laar said, glancing at Gor’kan. "Maybe we should just do what Zhar’khaen suggests."

"Fine, but I have one condition," Gor’kan agreed.

"What condition?" they both asked in unison.

Gor’kan looked at Zhar’khaen, "I’m stronger than you. You take Vryss’laar and leave. I’ll lure the demonic beast away. Once I’ve escaped, I’ll meet you. Otherwise, there’s no deal."

That last sentence stopped Zhar’khaen from protesting. No matter how they chose, danger was inevitable. One option was just slightly less dangerous than the other.

"You absolutely cannot get hurt. Otherwise, Vryss’laar and I will never sleep soundly again."

Seeing Zhar’khaen’s exaggerated grin, Gor’kan chuckled. "Of course, how could I die and leave my clan behind? Don’t forget, I’m the clan leader."

"Get out! What kind of nonsense clan leader are you? You self-appointed yourself!" Zhar’khaen laughed.

Gor’kan sighed, "What can I say? I’m the oldest, and also the strongest."

"You’re actually joking now," Zhar’khaen responded with mock surprise.

"Enough, go quickly." Gor’kan shook his head. As the elder, he bore a heavy burden, especially for a nearly extinct species.

The three Pixius stopped their playful banter as they traversed mountain after mountain until they reached the edge of a dense Canyon. This Canyon was the territory of a powerful demonic beast known as Dalamadur, the Serpent King Dragon.

The canyon was enormous, stretching over a hundred miles from north to south. It was the largest canyon in Ten Thousand Beast Mountain and was occupied by Dalamadur, one of the most powerful demonic beasts in the region.

Dalamadur was a descendant of one of the Beast Gods’ former generals and was among the demonic beasts most determined to see Pixius wiped out. Its descendants had been hunting the remaining members of Zhar’khaen’s species on their ancestor’s orders.

Zhar’khaen and his companions hadn’t been in Silent Echo Valley for long and had always concealed their aura while staying on the outskirts. If not that Dalamadur would have hunted them relentlessly, never allowing Pixius to rise again.

"I’ll give you half an hour to escape. After that, I’ll reveal myself. We’ll meet outside Ten Thousand Beast Mountain then," Gor’kan said decisively, without wasting any words.

"Understood," Zhar’khaen and Vryss’laar nodded their heads solemnly. Zhar’khaen then hoisted Vryss’laar onto his back.

Vryss’laar could no longer move on his own.

Half an hour later, an overwhelming aura erupted from the Dalamadur Canyon. The phantom image of a massive serpent appeared above the valley.

"Damn it! That’s the aura of a Pixiu. How dare they be in Ten Thousand Beast Mountain?"

The furious voice of Dalamadur echoed throughout the valley. The nearby demonic beasts, sensing the wrath of the powerful creature, retreated in fear, shrinking back into their own territories.

The phantom serpent in the sky quickly solidified into a real entity and disappeared above the valley, speeding off in pursuit of Gor’kan, who had intentionally released his aura.

The Dalamadur moved with astonishing speed, creating sonic booms as it tore through the air.

Gor’kan, moving swiftly through the dense forest, using the trees as cover, soon felt the Dalamandur’s aura closing in from behind. He immediately retracted the aura he had been leaking on purpose and bolted toward the direction of the human group.

He had no idea if this plan would work, but at this point, he had no other choice.

Taejin Yun and his group, who had been tracking Vryss’laar, had changed direction halfway and were now moving away from Gor’kan, unaware that he was quickly catching up from behind.

As Gor’kan neared them, he deliberately released his aura again.

"A powerful demonic beast is approaching! Be careful, everyone!" Yeonseon Yang was the first to sense something was wrong and immediately sent a mental message to the disciples of the Eternal One Sect.

Other sects quickly noticed the approaching danger as well. The demonic beast’s aura was too powerful, and they all instantly abandoned their pursuit of Pixiu ahead.

Following the trail of Pixiu’s aura, the Dalamadur soon detected the presence of a group of humans—the very spot where Pixiu’s aura had disappeared.
