Chapter 725: Spiritual Stone Mine (Part 2)
"Artifact Refining Valley’s thirty percent won’t change either," Hari Liu added without hesitation.
Dropping from seventy percent to forty percent was no small loss, and Ruma Yang was so emotionally drained by the fluctuations that he almost felt numb.
Laughing in frustration, he said, "Fine, you’re all just great."
He agreed because he had no choice.
With more devils arriving and judging by their strength, if he didn’t agree now, he might end up with nothing.
"Brother Yang, don’t say that. Let’s be considerate of each other. If you were in our position, I believe you’d say the same thing," Hari Liu said with a smile.
"Enough. I don’t want to drag this out any longer," Ruma Yang said through gritted teeth.
He didn’t want another faction showing up to claim a share of the spiritual stone mine.
If they delayed any further, something unexpected might happen.
They still hadn’t seen the Green Lotus Sect or the Beast Tamer Valley and Nine Cauldron Sect.
Who knew if they were nearby too?
The latter two wouldn’t be as bad, but if the Green Lotus Sect arrived, it would be hard to say if they’d even get a ten percent share.
Kailash Ren and Hari Liu were clearly thinking the same thing as Ruma Yang and their auras suddenly changed.
But sometimes, what you think about is exactly what happens.
"Wow, it’s very lively here. Everyone is gathering here, it seems like fate," Kenny Lin said as he stood on a large, leafy tree while watching the two opposing groups from a distance with a contented smile.
Amalia thought that wasn’t contentment but rather a kind of scheming "thriving on chaos" attitude.
"There are a lot of people this time. If you don’t want your plans to go wrong, the chances of being discovered are high. Besides, Ajit Wan is here too."
Ajit Wan was the only one who knew the real situation about the spiritual stone mine.
Once he saw Kenny Lin, all the speculations would be dispelled.
"So what if he’s here? Even if he finds out, what can he do? Does he really think he can take the spiritual stone mine back from us? Once something’s in my hands, it’s not coming back out again. Unless they have the ability, I wouldn’t mind if the humans turned on each other," Kenny Lin said, a smirk on his face.
Amalia felt a bit itchy to take action, but she knew that this guy always had to voice his thoughts.
People said that the demonic cultivators from Night Demon Palace were anti-human, but she felt these people were less dangerous than Kenny Lin.
"Do whatever you want," she said.
"You’re not stopping me?" Kenny Lin turned his head to look at her.
Usually, Amalia would reprimand him, which was one of his favorite things.
Now that she wasn’t stopping him, he felt a little empty.
"Why stop you? When the secret realm’s passage opens again, everyone will see anyway."
Later, when Amalia thought back on the situation, she realized that Kenny Lin was just pretending to be weak and hadn’t done anything out of line.
Instead, it was Ajit Wan who had abandoned Kenny Lin and fled.
If Ajit Wan hadn’t run, Kenny Lin wouldn’t have been able to keep up the act for so long.
So really, it was Ajit Wan’s lack of insight that was to blame, mistaking a pearl for a fish eye, even though this pearl was capable of hiding its luster.
"What a pity," Kenny Lin said with regret.
Amalia pretended not to hear it and said, "Let’s head back and regroup with Renshu Chang and the others. It looks like they still have some fighting to do. Once they’re done, we can come back for the top-grade spiritual stone mine. Now that we know about it, even if we can’t keep it all to ourselves, we should at least get a share."
When they returned, they didn’t hide what they had discovered. They told Renshu Chang and the others, asking for their opinions.
"The Mystic Void Continent hasn’t seen a top-grade spiritual stone mine in a long time," Renshu Chang said, hinting clearly that the Green Lotus Sect also wanted a share.
"If it were just a high-grade spiritual stone mine, it wouldn’t matter as much. But a top-grade spiritual stone mine is extremely rare."
Everyone glanced at the person who said this.
It was obvious that people with wealth think differently—considering a high-grade spiritual stone mine as something that "wouldn’t matter."
Ding Huiqing’s face showed a trace of discomfort.
Why were they looking at him like that?
Wasn’t he just stating a fact?
"Junior Master Uncle and Martial Aunt, you two can decide it. If you want to get involved, we’ll all support it," Renshu Chang said on behalf of everyone.
The group quickly nodded their heads in agreement.
Given their current strength, they would need the two of them to take charge; they could only add to the numbers.
Amalia thought for a moment, "Fifty devils entered the secret realm. More than half are already dead. There are eighteen devils over there. The rest should be only five or six devils scattered elsewhere. The threat isn’t too big."
"Wait, how do you know more than half are dead?" Renshu Chang couldn’t help but interrupt, looking incredulous.
Were there really that many devil casualties?
"We killed eleven before we met you, plus the fourteen earlier. That’s exactly half," Amalia said calmly.
Renshu Chang and the other disciples couldn’t help but swallow their saliva nervously.
A fifty percent death rate and only half the time had passed.
By the end of the month, it would likely be even higher—a death rate the devils probably hadn’t expected.
Seeing their reactions, Amalia didn’t bother explaining.
Although she had promised Senior Tian Wuya to kill as many devils as possible, the ones they had killed so far were just by chance.
They hadn’t been deliberately seeking them out, yet they kept running into them.
