Chapter 644: Amalia’s Breakthrough (Part 1)

In order to avoid the devil’s attack, Yasavur Su had to keep retreating.

In no time, the distance between them increased again.

"Arasen Xiao, are you deliberately opposing me?" Yasavur Su shouted angrily.

"Senior Brother Su, I think this isn’t good. We are all fellow disciples, and harmony is the most important," Arasen Xiao advised.

"Harmony, my foot! When she was targeting me, why didn’t you say we are fellow disciples?"

Yasavur Su was about to vomit blood, not understanding how this benefitted him at all.

Arasen Xiao’s expression was troubled, "Senior Brother Su, let me be honest with you, don’t get angry. Actually, Junior Sister Amalia wasn’t targeting you."

Yasavur Su’s eyes widened immediately, "Do you take me for a three-year-old kid?"

"Of course not, I’m serious. If Junior Sister Amalia really wanted to target you, you would have been eliminated by now," Arasen Xiao said seriously.

"Stop talking. I don’t want to hear another word from you," Yasavur Su said, feeling a sharp pang in his heart as if it had been pricked with a needle, "Either step aside, or don’t blame me for being rude."

Arasen Xiao sighed, "Senior Brother Su, why can’t you understand my intentions? If you keep arguing with her, you’ll only end up embarrassing yourself."

Yasavur Su stopped wasting words and charged forward silently.

In the illusion, the devils targeted whoever they saw first.

When Yasavur Su’s devil spotted Amalia, it immediately lunged towards her.

Seeing this, Arasen Xiao gave up explaining and silently passed his pursuing devil to Yasavur Su as well.

Both of them had studied the formations.

While using the formations to block and attack, they inadvertently trapped the devil and themselves.

"Arasen Xiao, what exactly are you trying to do?"

Yasavur Su glanced anxiously at Arasen Xiao, then back at Amalia, who was still sitting there studying formations.

He felt a mixture of relief and frustration.

"By delaying me like this and trapping me, aren’t you just trapping yourself? In the end, you’re giving her an advantage for nothing. What exactly are you thinking?" Yasavur Su’s tone was irritated and embarrassed.

Arasen Xiao fell silent, "Among fellow sect members, infighting is not wise."

"I mean, this isn’t a devil battlefield; it’s just an illusionary trial. No one’s actually dying here. If this were a real devil battlefield, even with ten times the courage, I wouldn’t dare," Yasavur Su scoffed, rolling his eyes.

Seeing Arasen Xiao remain silent, he continued, "Besides, do you really think by trapping me, she can actually decipher the formation? You’re overthinking it. I don’t know which peak she’s from, but deciphering a difficult-level illusion like this isn’t so simple."

Just as he spoke, the sky suddenly rumbled loudly.

Both of them looked up to see the clear sky that was filled with rolling dark clouds, thunder echoing, laden with a pressure that made it hard to breathe within the formation.

Yasavur Su abruptly turned his head to Amalia.

Somehow, without him realizing, she had stopped deciphering the formation.

Her head tilted back, she was staring at the densely clouded sky, her expression one of disbelief.

"Has she already deciphered it?"

Arasen Xiao’s eyes also flashed with surprise; it hadn’t been that long since she started deciphering.

"It shouldn’t be possible," Arasen Xiao blocked Yasavur Su, though he himself wasn’t very hopeful.

He had prepared himself for a long struggle.

Unbeknownst to Yasavur Su, Amalia herself was somewhat surprised.

Before deciphering it, she didn’t know the specifics of the formation’s eye.

But upon contact, as time passed, she discovered the formation’s peculiarities.

It turned out to be arranged according to yin and yang, with the formation’s eye being the intersection of yin and yang.

Once she grasped the formation’s eye, she could control the entire formation and do whatever she wanted.

Ever since learning about the Yin-Yang Pearl on Kenny Lin’s body and its connection to yin and yang, Amalia has studied many things related to this concept.

Once she understood the principles involved, to everyone’s surprise, she quickly mastered the formation’s eye.

The two devils seemed to realize something was amiss.

Finally, as Yasavur Su had hoped, they abandoned the pursuit of him and charged toward Amalia.

Amalia lightly pinched her fingers together.

The thunderclouds that were brewing in the sky immediately let out a deep rumble, followed by a thick bolt of lightning that struck out abruptly.

The devils instinctively dodged, as if they had suddenly gained intelligence.

However, it was in vain.

The lightning abruptly changed course in mid-air and struck one of the devils directly.

The devil was charred inside and out, falling from the sky, still alive but severely injured.

The other devil charged forward with an angry roar, its five sharp claws glowing with five beams of light, aimed straight at Amalia.

A thin, long bolt of lightning descended from the dark clouds, flashing brightly and neutralizing its attack.

Amalia continued to swiftly manipulate the formations, this time not with lightning but with a mix of ice and flames, intertwining to assail both the devils.

"She has indeed mastered the formation’s eye, but she should have unleashed the full power of the entire formation. If it were me, I would have already vanquished both of the devils," Yasavur Su remarked confidently.

Amalia raised her head to glance at the sky as if trying to see beyond the dark clouds to higher realms.

"What are you looking at?" Yasavur Su followed her gaze upwards, but all he saw was a dense layer of black clouds.

"I just feel like something’s not quite right," Amalia couldn’t quite articulate what she sensed.

Above the black clouds, in fact, spiritual energy from all directions converged, pouring into the formation’s eye and forming a massive vortex, almost liquefying.

At the very center of the formation’s eye was Amalia, with a vast amount of spiritual energy pouring into her meridians, impacting her profoundly.

In the main hall of the sect leader.

a painting hung in mid-air, depicting Amalia utilizing the spiritual energy within the illusion to break through.
