Chapter 625: Apprenticeship (Part 2)
After Tian Wuya left, Nameless Peak began to rain again.
The rain, with drops as large as beans, seemed to silently urge them to leave quickly.
Master Lian also left after Tian Wuya departed, leaving only a few of them to descend the mountain.
"Congratulations, Martial Aunt, on becoming the disciple of Senior Tian Wuya," Sect Leader Qing suddenly said as they left Nameless Peak, catching Amalia off guard.
Renshu Chang was also taken aback.
Why was his master now referring to Amalia as Martial Aunt?
Amalia straightforwardly asked, "Sect Leader, why are you calling me Martial Aunt and referring to my master as Senior Tian Wuya?"
"This matter involves events from many years ago, of which Renshu Chang is unaware," Sect Leader Qing said while stroking his beard with a cheerful smile, "Senior Tian Wuya’s husband was actually the junior brother of both my master and my master uncle. Strictly speaking, Renshu Chang should address her as Great Martial Uncle."
"However, since Renshu Chang’s Great Martial Uncle passed away, Senior Tian Wuya has rarely appeared in public. Many disciples of the Green Lotus Sect are unaware of Senior Tian Wuya’s existence, let alone Renshu Chang’s Great Martial Uncle."
Renshu Chang, learning this for the first time, didn’t mind his master repeatedly referring to his Great Martial Uncle.
"Since Senior Tian Wuya dislikes these formal titles, we do not use them publicly. However, Martial Aunt is a disciple of the Green Lotus Sect and now a disciple of Senior Tian Wuya, which also theoretically makes you Renshu Chang’s Grand Martial Aunt," Sect Leader Qing said with a smile.
"I understand," Amalia nodded, then asked, "Does this mean that a Martial Aunt can’t ask her nephew for things?"
Sect Leader Qing’s expression froze.
Renshu Chang couldn’t help but laugh, but immediately stopped when Sect Leader Qing shot him a glance.
"Here’s the situation," Sect Leader Qing explained, "Both Junior Master Uncle and Martial Aunt have been accepted by Master Lian and Senior Tian Wuya’s disciples, So it’s appropriate for the nephews to present congratulatory gifts. However, since Martial Aunt has yet to complete the task assigned by Senior Tian, I haven’t informed anyone else. I planned to wait until the results were confirmed before having everyone offer their congratulations together."
"I see, Sect Leader. You are very thoughtful," Amalia nodded.
"Martial Aunt, please don’t call me Sect Leader anymore. Like Junior Master Uncle, just call me Nephew Qing," he suggested.
Since it was already one person calling him that, having two wouldn’t make a difference.
Sect Leader Qing had realized why Master Lian wanted Senior Tian Wuya to take Amalia as a disciple.
One reason was to strengthen the bond between Senior Tian Wuya and the Green Lotus Sect.
There might be other reasons he hadn’t guessed, but ultimately, it was for the good of the Green Lotus Sect.
"Never mind, I’ll still call you Sect Leader," Amalia said.
Calling someone who was much older than her "Nephew" would be strange and could also harm the Sect Leader’s reputation if other people heard it.
Sect Leader Qing laughed heartily, his eyes nearly disappearing in his smile.
He was growing increasingly fond of this Martial Aunt; her personality wasn’t bad at all.
Master Lian’s judgment was as impeccable as ever.
"Master, should I call her Grand Martial Aunt then?" Renshu Chang asked, conflicted.
"Do you think you’re the same as your master? Of course, you should call her that," Sect Leader Qing said, giving him a stern look.
Renshu Chang felt like crying but had no tears.
"If there are outsiders present, just call me Amalia," Amalia said.
She didn’t understand why they cared so much about titles and seniority.
Kenny Lin had a mischievous streak, but she didn’t mind.
Renshu Chang sighed, feeling that Amalia was indeed a good person.
"Nephew Qing, shouldn’t you be attending to your proper duties now?" Kenny Lin, with his mischievous nature, spoke up to remind them that there was still a Martial Aunt present.
Sect Leader Qing’s mouth twitched, knowing Kenny Lin was urging him to quickly notify others about the congratulations gifts.
As expected, nothing could be perfect.
"Then, I will take my leave, Martial Aunt. Renshu Chang, do you want to come with me?"
Renshu Chang nodded, as everything that needed to be handled was done, "I’ll go with you, Master."
Watching them leave, Amalia turned around to Kenny Lin, "Let’s go to Nephrite Pill."
Today was the last day of the month.
With the matter of her apprenticeship resolved, there was only one thing left to do.
At Nephrite Pill.
Baolin Jia had a daily habit of calculating how much interest he could collect from the spirit stones he had previously lent out.
Adding up all the interest, he would find the total amount, which always made him extremely happy.
Just looking at it made him feel that the world was a wonderful place.
"So much interest again today. I really am a genius. Others work hard, taking on tasks and getting covered in injuries, and the spirit stones they earn aren’t even enough to heal their wounds. But me, I just lie in my room sleeping, and a large sum of spirit stones automatically fills my pockets."
Baolin Jia fiddled with his abacus while muttering to himself, occasionally bursting into smug laughter.
The senior and junior brothers passing by couldn’t help but shake their heads.
Whenever Baolin Jia laughed like that, it meant he had recorded another large sum of spirit stones.
Although some envied him, few tried to emulate him.
Firstly, not many had his skills or persuasive talent.
Secondly, Baolin Jia spent all his time on spirit stones and didn’t seem to cultivate much.
His cultivation level hadn’t improved at all, so earning more spirit stones was pointless since he didn’t spend them on what mattered.
Baolin Jia didn’t care about them.
He just loved the feeling of making money.
Watching large amounts of spirit stones flow into his pockets thrilled him.
