Chapter 601: Devil Battlefield (Part 3)

Amalia noticed the difference in the stalls here compared to the trading area of the Green Lotus Sect.

Everywhere, human cultivators were selling items obtained from the devils.

"Why do human cultivators like to train in the devil battlefield? Besides being in the Eastern Continent of Mystic Void, there’s another important reason: certain parts of devils are materials for artifact refining or alchemy."

In the trading area of the Green Lotus Sect, such items were rare, but here they were everywhere, including demonic beasts.

Renshu Chang laughed when he saw Amalia looking at the stall goods.

"Many people always end up getting something they don’t need. This city is the best trading point, where you’re more likely to find good things. Once you’re outside, everyone goes their separate ways and you can only go to trading points to see if you can find what you want."

"Here, it’s mostly bartering or exchanging spirit stones. However, if you want to exchange devil heads for contribution points, you can only do that in our sect."

Amalia already knew this point, so she withdrew her gaze after watching for a moment.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to look, but she didn’t have any spirit stones.

So, looking any further was pointless.

They weren’t there to buy things anyway.

Flying was forbidden in the cities near the Devil’s Battlefield, except for powerful cultivators.

Otherwise, everyone had to walk or use the teleportation array.

The person guarding the teleportation array was a cultivator from the Green Lotus Sect.

He knew Renshu Chang but still required a fee.

Different sects had different rules, but in the Green Lotus Sect, everyone was equal.

Seeing that Green Lotus Sect cultivators also had to pay for teleportation made some outsiders feel more balanced.

"Renshu Chang, are you bringing disciples for a mission again?"

The young cultivator guarding the array was at the same cultivation level as Renshu Chang, both in the Golden Core stage.

Since Renshu Chang often brought disciples to the Devil’s Battlefield for missions, this fellow sect member made an assumption.

Renshu Chang glanced at Kenny Lin and, seeing that he wasn’t angry, sighed in relief and whispered, "Don’t talk nonsense, this time it’s not a disciple, it’s a Junior Master Uncle."

The young cultivator’s mouth dropped open in shock.

Such a young Junior Master Uncle?

Renshu Chang couldn’t be delirious from fear of devils.

He hadn’t been guarding the teleportation array for that long, and there were no Junior Master Uncles in the sect this young.

But Renshu Chang wouldn’t deceive him.

Renshu Chang didn’t dare explain in detail in front of the Junior Master Uncle, so he sent a voice transmission to the young cultivator, "This is the new disciple of Master Lian. It’s best not to draw too much attention when he is out."

The young cultivator immediately understood.

There was only one Master Lian in the entire Green Lotus Sect.

Instantly, he put away his casual attitude.

The disciple of Master Lian was not something that someone like him could offend lightly.

He respectfully sent them into the teleportation array.

Once they were gone, the young cultivator breathed a sigh of relief.

The teleportation array didn’t transport them directly to the Devil’s Battlefield but to its entrance.

The entrance was large enough to allow a dozen people to pass through simultaneously, glowed with a faint blue light, resembling a watery veil.

Through it, one could vaguely see the Devil’s Battlefield.

The three of them stepped through the light, their bodies feeling as if they had entered the water, the light rippling slightly before disappearing.

A denser, more ominous aura greeted them.

Amalia’s first impression of the Devil’s Battlefield was one of desolation.

Beyond the light was an old city, its black brick walls marked with the scars of past battles.

"This city is so old?"

"It’s been here for thousands of years, though it has been rebuilt several times. It’s in relatively good shape now."

"Do the devil armies often attack the city?" Amalia asked.

"They used to, but after the front lines moved back, attacks became less frequent. Now, it’s mostly sneak attacks. So, at night, be vigilant. Don’t sleep too deeply and avoid cultivating, as the aftermath of battles can be deadly. These things have happened before."

As Renshu Chang explained, he led them to find the city’s defenders.

"Renshu Chang?"

A middle-aged cultivator emerged from a mud hut upon hearing someone was looking for him.

He recognized the familiar face.

"Uncle Cai," Renshu Chang greeted the middle-aged cultivator and then quickly turned his head to Kenny Lin, "Junior Master Uncle, this is Uncle Cai Jianjun, from Heaven Blade Peak."

Hearing Renshu Chang refer to a young cultivator as Junior Master Uncle, Cai Jianjun looked surprised.

What kind of Junior Master Uncle was this?

He had only been away for a short while.

"Uncle Cai, Junior Master Uncle is the new disciple of Master Lian," Renshu Chang explained quietly.

Cai Jianjun’s expression stiffened slightly.

He awkwardly clasped his hands in salute, "Jianjun greets Junior Master Uncle."

"No need for formalities," Kenny Lin said coldly.

Since arriving at the Devil’s Battlefield, he had reverted to his usual aloof demeanor.

For a moment, Cai Jianjun thought he was seeing Master Lian himself.

"Junior master uncle, do uou wanted to know the distribution of the devil bases?" Cai Jianjun’s expression turned surprised upon hearing their words.

Renshu Chang explained, "Junior Master Uncle and Junior Sister Amalia want to gain experience."

He didn’t mention Amalia’s agreement with Senior Tian senior to slay a thousand warrior level devils and ten leader level devils.

Before leaving, his master had instructed him to keep such matters confidential, so Renshu Chang refrained from disclosing further.

"Uncle Lin and Nephew Amalia are visiting the devil battlefield for the first time. It’s best not to venture too deep. The further you go, the more devils there are, they’re often gathered in large groups," cautioned Cai Jianjun.

Kenny Lin nodded his head calmly and asked, "So, Nephew Cai means the devils rarely fight alone?"
