Chapter 573: Mystic Void Continent (Part 3)
"We didn’t really go looking for it. We just happened to encounter them," Amalia replied while glancing at him.
The cultivator looked envious, "You’re really lucky. I’ve heard many people say that they’ve been wandering around the Great Mojave Desert for days without finding a single Sicarius Silk Spider. Lately, something strange has been happening. Normally, they swarm everywhere, but this time, not a single one’s been seen. I was worried, thinking that I’d lure out one or two, but in the end never got the chance."
"I see. We must have been really lucky," Amalia said sincerely, her expression genuine as if there was nothing strange about it.
If the cultivators knew that the Sicarius Silk Spiders had been driven away by the two young people in front of them, they would have felt quite astonished.
After exiting the shop, Kenny Lin leaned closer to Amalia.
"Baby, you often say that I’m a drama king, but you’re not bad yourself. Both of us are really good at acting and fooling people. We’re indeed a perfect match," Kenny Lin teased.
Amalia didn’t bother to pay attention to him.
She doing that just to follow the story of that cultivator so that the cultivator wouldn’t find some clue from them.
After selling a hundred Sicarius Silk Spiders, they went to another shop and sold several dozen more.
They thought they were already caution enough, but it turns out they still attracted the attention of some evil people.
"Kid, what you’re doing is someone else’s trick. I’ve had my eye on you for a while now. Be smart and hand over the spirit stones obediently," a voice suddenly said as Amalia and Kenny Lin sensed something was wrong.
They deliberately walked into an alley, only to find several men waiting for them.
"Who’s going first, you or me?" Amalia wasted no time asking Kenny Lin.
"You go ahead. I’m not interested in dealing with these small fries," Kenny Lin lazily leaned against the wall.
Upon hearing himself called a small fry, one of the men became furious.
"If you won’t accept our toast, then you’ll have to face the consequences! Brothers, let’s get ’em!" the young man shouted while charging forward.
Amalia tried to draw her spirit sword, only to realize that it had been damaged in the spatial rift and she hadn’t fully adjusted to the loss yet.
With a swift move, she slammed the first attacker into the wall.
Moving like a ghost, before the others could react, she swiftly incapacitated them and left them groaning in pain against the wall.
"If you don’t want to leave, don’t bother coming," Amalia said coldly.
The men quickly got up and supported each other as they hurried away, not much slower than when they had arrived.
"What’s the point of all this trouble? We should’ve just killed them," Kenny Lin scoffed.
Amalia glanced at him, "We’re new here. Let’s avoid trouble if we can."
Normally, given her temperament, she wouldn’t have spared them, but this wasn’t Earth or the familiar interstellar world she knew.
The Mystic Void Continent was increasingly revealing its unfathomable depths.
Everywhere was filled with powerful mysteries.
They were still too weak and lacked powerful backing.
Kenny Lin shrugged his shoulder, "Where are we going now?"
"I want to gather some materials first and refine a handy spiritual artifact. Your spiritual artifact needs repairs too," Amalia explained her plan.
Although Kenny Lin’s advanced level spirit sword hadn’t been destroyed in the spatial rift, its condition was still very serious and it seemed on the verge of falling apart.
Currently, they didn’t have any suitable weapons, and encountering any trouble would leave them without a trump card.
They had gathered some materials in the Great Mojave Desert, but the quality wasn’t great, and they couldn’t refine any decent weapons.
The level here in the Great Mojave Desert was too low.
If they wanted better materials, they would have to leave this place.
This was another reason why they had been crazily hunting and selling Sicarius Silk Spiders during this period.
Before leaving, Amalia sold the remaining Sicarius Silk Spiders.
Finally, their pouch contained over two thousand low-grade spirit stones.
With that, they left the Shara Town and headed towards the major city marked on the map.
The Devine Brilliance States, marked by the red dot, was their destination.
On Earth, it would be a large state, but in this world, it was just a small area.
However, it was bustling, especially the Arabesque City located at the junction.
Countless people passed through every day, whether they were merchants, commoners, or cultivators.
The city gates were always busy with people coming and going.
Amalia and Kenny Lin traveled for seven days and finally arrived outside Arabesque City.
The bustling atmosphere surged up, much livelier than Shara Town, several times over.
After observing for a while outside the city, they noticed that the number of ordinary people and cultivators was almost equal.
It was something that was rarely seen on Earth.
"Let’s go in too," Kenny Lin said enthusiastically.
Amalia was pulled by him to the city gate to queue up.
Arabesque City required a toll fee to enter, and soon a long line formed.
At that moment, a clamor suddenly arose.
A group of people who are riding tall horses and dressed in luxurious clothes, swept past them with fluttering robes, leaving dust flying.
Just as the dust was about to reach Amalia’s face, Kenny Lin waved it away with his sleeve.
Since he changed his clothes to the clothes from the Mystic Void Continent, he particularly enjoyed flicking his sleeves.
"No manners," Kenny Lin said coldly.
Whether it was that he didn’t mention their surname or those people didn’t hear, they didn’t need to pay the toll fee either.
After a brief pause, they swiftly entered the city, unlike them still waiting in line.
Amalia observed these scenes for a while and realized not all cultivators could pass through easily; those people clearly had special status.
