Chapter 571: Mystic Void Continent (Part 1)
Kenny Lin nodded his head while looking at her with his innocent eyes.
Amalia immediately roasted some more spiders and added some spices to it.
These spices were all spices that she had left over from the last time she roasted spiritual meat.
All other items had been used up, and this was the only thing left.
Surprisingly, the spices still came in handy.
With the spices, the spider meat tasted much better.
Kenny Lin began to eat with an expression of enjoyment.
The enticing aroma of the roasted meat woke up Wealth, who had been unconscious.
Crossing the spatial rift had injured Wealth as well.
Seeing Wealth’s drooling expression, Amalia patted its head, "These spiders are poisonous. I’ll find you something to eat once we leave the desert. Hang in there."
Wealth looked at her with teary eyes.
Amalia roasted dozens of spiders and all of which were eaten by Kenny Lin, allowing him to recover some strength.
"Let’s go. We should look for other people."
In this unfamiliar place, they could only use the sun to identify their direction.
They walked for about two days, during which they faced several attacks from the desert creatures and narrowly escaped.
Not long after that, they finally saw a caravan that was passing through the desert.
When the leader of the caravan saw them, he showed a mixture of surprise and wary expression.
"Excuse me..."
Amalia had just started to speak when she noticed the caution in the leader’s eyes instantly vanish.
Setting aside her curiosity about this reaction for now, Amalia explained that they were lost and asked if they could follow the caravan.
The leader readily agreed.
As they got to know each other, Amalia learned from the leader that initially, they thought Amalia and Kenny Lin were enemies.
However, once they heard Amalia speak, they realized they weren’t.
Amalia was also quite surprised because their languages were the same.
"But the two of you were very brave, to think that you two dared to cross the Great Mojave Desert on foot."
The leader said while still feeling shocked after learning about their situation.
"Is there a problem with that?" Amalia asked with a naive smile as if she was a young girl who doesn’t know much about the outside world.
The leader saw that Amalia and Kenny Lin didn’t have the temperament of ordinary people, so without doubting too much about it, he assumed them as someone who came from distinguished families and was merely on a training journey.
"Of course, there’s a problem. The Great Mojave Desert is extremely dangerous. It’s best not to come here unless you have reached the Foundation Building stage," the leader replied after sensing that their spiritual energy fluctuations were not strong, thus assuming their cultivation level was low.
Little did he know that it was because they had just exited from the spatial rift and hadn’t had time to recover their strength.
And before they had time to recover their spiritual energy, they had been chased by the desert creatures all the while.
Amalia and Kenny Lin exchanged a glance at each other.
The Foundation Building stage seemed to be the cultivation level division in this world.
They wondered where their own strength fit into this system.
After that, Amalia continued to engage the leader in conversation and gradually she learned more about this world.
The continent they landed currently is known as the Mystic Void Continent.
This world was entirely dedicated to cultivation, where everyone was involved in cultivating immortality.
In this place, people who cultivate immortality were not referred to as spiritual cultivators but as immortal cultivators.
After crossing the Great Mojave Desert with the caravan, they parted ways and, following the leader’s directions to found a small town.
In the town, they spent a good part of the day gathering information and finally gaining a clear understanding about the situation on the Mystic Void Continent.
On the Mystic Void Continent, the currency they use is spirit stones.
The transactions between cultivators are conducted with spirit stones unless they do bartering.
Their spirit stones had been completely exhausted within the spatial rift, leaving them to rely on meditation to recover their spiritual energy.
Fortunately, both of them could absorb spiritual energy at twice the speed of ordinary people.
In less than half a day, despite their injuries not being fully healed, their spiritual energy was almost fully restored.
"Mystic Void Continent is truly a paradise for cultivation," Kenny Lin remarked, thinking about Earth, where even the central disaster zones didn’t have spiritual energy as rich as even the most random spots here.
"Never mind that. We need to find out how to earn spirit stones first," Amalia said.
Earlier, they learned that without spirit stones, it was inconvenient to go anywhere.
Some cities even required one or two spirit stones just to entered them.
They approached a shop assistant.
The shop assistant who is only at the Qi Gathering stage, treated every passing cultivator with respect.
He immediately directed them to a location.
Shara Town was the only town nearby.
Because it’s situated next to the resource-rich Great Mojave Desert, its development rivaled that of a small city.
They entered a relatively large shop bustling with customers.
"We accept anything from the Great Mojave Desert, but with your cultivation levels, entering the desert is akin to seeking death," the shopkeeper said dismissively after a quick glance at them.
"Do you accept Sicarius Silk Spiders?" Amalia asked, unfazed by his attitude.
She realized the shopkeeper couldn’t see their true cultivation level.
"Of course we do."
Sicarius Silk Spiders are a specialty of the Great Mojave Desert.
Despite being poisonous, their meat is exceptionally tender.
There are always some people who are not afraid of death or someone with unique cultivation methods willing to buy them.
However, the Sicarius Silk Spiders always appeared in groups.
Once you get surrounded by them, the outcome was mostly death and making them difficult to catch.
