Chapter 541: Primal Megalodon (Part 1)
The future she knew might happen quickly.
"Let me try," Kenny Lin said easily, "If I’m not mistaken, the black side of the Yin-Yang Pearl absorbs the violent energy from the spatial rift, while the white side is maintained by the sea king. Without the king’s energy, the Yin-Yang Pearl can’t sustain itself."
Before Amalia could respond, she realized there was nothing she needed to add.
"You’re right, but in your current state, it’s not suitable. Let me handle it."
"No," Kenny Lin smiled, "Haven’t you noticed?"
"Noticed what?" Amalia asked, raising an eyebrow.
Kenny Lin explained, "This Yin-Yang Pearl is very similar to my own situation. One side is Yin, and the other is Yang. The white side represents my Light-type Spiritual Vein, and the black side represents my Dark-type Spiritual Vein. Don’t you think so?"
Amalia’s pupils constricted.
She hadn’t considered this possibility before, but probably because she subconsciously didn’t want to, as it would mean Kenny Lin would have to do something.
"Let me try. If anything goes wrong, I’ll stop immediately," Kenny Lin said, in high spirits, realizing that Amalia might not be the savior after all.
According to TV shows, the true savior could very well be him.
Amalia could see his happiness and asked calmly, "Are you happy?"
"Of cour—" Kenny Lin stopped his midway nod and abruptly changed to shaking his head, "No, not at all. I don’t want to be a savior. The fate of humans and mutated creatures has nothing to do with me."
"Keep acting. If I believe you, I’ll consider it my loss," Amalia said while rolling her eyes at him.
"How about we make a bet?" Kenny Lin suddenly suggested with a smile.
"You’re in the mood to gamble at a time like this?" Amalia retorted.
Kenny Lin shrugged, "Why not? The ones fighting up there aren’t us. Besides, it lightens the mood. So, do you want to bet or not?"
"What do you want to bet?"
"Let’s bet on the Yin-Yang Pearl. If nothing happens to me, you will marry me," Kenny Lin said astonishingly.
Amalia’s expression remained unchanged, "And if I win?"
Kenny Lin’s eyes twinkled mischievously, "Then I’ll marry you."
Amalia raised her hand to hit him, realizing he wasn’t serious about the bet.
She sneered, "Either way, you are still the one who get the benefit from it. If you really want to bet, make it worth my while. If I win, you let me to take the lead once."
"You finally admit you’ve been wanting to do me all along, don’t you?" Kenny Lin said, suddenly feeling excited.
Amalia felt exasperated; his reaction was unexpected, "So, do you agree?"
"Why wouldn’t I? I don’t think I’ll lose," Kenny Lin said, smiling knowingly.
"Based on what?" Amalia asked, trying to probe his sudden confidence, feeling a little bit hesitant.
"My intuition, of course!" Kenny Lin said arrogantly while lifting his head.
Amalia felt relieved, patting his shoulder, "Alright, let’s get started."
Without hesitation, Kenny Lin raised one of his hand, and a white energy ball quickly formed in his palm.
The white light illuminated his face, making him look stern and focused, almost like Kenny Lin in white clothes.
There was an unusual intensity to him now, or perhaps, he had become Kenny Lin in white clothes.
Just before he released the white energy, Kenny Lin in white clothes turned his head, "Were you serious earlier?"
Amalia blinked her eyes, feeling confused, "Serious about what?"
A hint of discomfort flashed across Kenny Lin in white clothes’s face, "About marrying me—did you really mean it?"
Amalia had thought Kenny Lin in white clothes was different from Kenny Lin in black clothes, but now she saw they were the same, "Didn’t you have issues with me before?"
Kenny Lin in white clothes turned his face away, "No, I’ve never had issues with you."
Amalia sighed, "I was serious."
Kenny Lin in white clothes quickly turned back, smiling, "You said it, you can’t take your words back."
...
The sea water began to surge, flowing rapidly in a single direction, as if drawn by some unseen force.
The currents grew increasingly turbulent.
In addition to the first whirlpool, several more appeared shortly after.
The marine-type mutated creatures fled the ocean in droves.
Those capable of flight soared into the sky, avoiding the water, while those unable to fly swam away as quickly as possible, trying to put as much distance as they could between themselves and the danger.
The combined whirlpools created an incredibly destructive force.
Those high-level mutated creatures who attempted to intervene were quickly overwhelmed by the swirling currents and disappeared.
Everyone watching was stunned by the scene.
"Do you see this? Without the king’s constant protection, do you think you could have lived peacefully for so many years? Who do you think provided that security?" Manyu accused sharply, unable to comprehend why Dolphite had changed.
Dolphite was silent for a moment, "There’s no need to continue. We each have different pursuits."
"Oh, so now you’re calling it ’different pursuits’? Using human terms, a murderer wanting to kill could also say it’s their personal pursuit. Do you think humans would agree with that?" Manyu sneered.
"Manyu, I’ve noticed that you’ve been spouting more profound truths today than you have in the last hundred years," said Imuji, stepping back to stand beside him.
"Actually, in the last hundred years, I don’t think you’ve said a single wise thing."
Manyu’s face darkened, and he snapped, "What are you even doing here? Focus on your own opponent!"
"How can we continue fighting under these circumstances?" Imuji shrugged.
They were not the central figures in this battle.
The true outcome would be decided by the king and the mutated creature he was fighting.
They were on the other side, causing such a commotion.
If the king couldn’t resolve the situation and arrive in time, the Sea Of Death would be in serious trouble.
Should the spatial rift spiral out of control, the entire ocean could be doomed.
