Chapter 514: Sea Of Death (Part 5)

Meanwhile, Vigil Storozh and Canadane Zhao’s group finally arrived near the Sea of Death.

The Sea of Death was only a hundred miles from the mainland, with a nearby island being the only one in the vicinity.

The island was barren, with only mountains and rocks, and nothing else.

The marine-type mutated creatures disliked coming ashore, making it rare to see any on the island.

Vigil Storozh and his group landed on this island.

"Further ahead is the Sea of Death, where the marine-type mutated creature resides. From now on, we can’t fly conspicuously in the air. Since we’re here to gather information, it’s best to move underwater," Canadane Zhao, the only one among them who had been here before, explained, leaving Vigil Storozh with nothing to add.

Zanilia Zhao curiously asked, "Grandfather, hasn’t the government developed a way to communicate with the marine-type mutated creatures over the years?"

"Before they mutated, we had some methods. After mutation, they rely on sound waves to communicate with each others. The sound waves are just frequencies, and they’re difficult to decipher, especially among higher-level mutated creatures. Their sound waves for communication also vary, like different languages of countries. These are inherited traits."

"What a pity. If we could decipher their language, we could directly capture a high-level mutated creature and interrogate it," Zanilia Zhao said regretfully.

Vigil Storozh replied calmly, "There’s nothing to pity. Even if we deciphered it, these high-level creatures wouldn’t necessarily tell us anything. Their bones are harder than humans’. Ultimately, they’re not fully evolved yet. No matter how high their intelligence, it’s still rare."

"Zanilia, you stay on this island to provide support. If anything happens, we’ll signal you. Once you receive the signal, don’t worry about us, just escape on your own."

Canadane Zhao had brought his granddaughter to let her experience the world.

His granddaughter was on par with Kenny Lin, who could act independently and even brought Amalia along.

Canadane Zhao couldn’t let his granddaughter to fall behind the others but he didn’t want to risk her life either.

The Zhao family valued quality over quantity, unlike the stallions family like the Yoder family

Zanilia Zhao shook her head firmly, "Grandfather, I don’t think I’m weak. I won’t hold you back. If we can’t win, I’ll just escape."

"Leaving you here isn’t because it’s safe. On the contrary, this island might not be safe at all. If we’re discovered, this island will be the first place they suspect someone might be hiding. Moreover, you can keep watch for us from the island," Vigil Storozh explained.

Canadane Zhao agreed, "Listen to your Uncle Storozh. He’s right. Just stay here."

"Alright then," Zanilia Zhao finally agreed.

"Oh, and if you see Kenny Lin and Amalia approaching here, tell them not to act recklessly and wait for our message," Vigil Storozh added suddenly.

Zanilia Zhao was startled for a moment before nodding her head, "If I see them, I’ll let them know."

Vigil Storozh gave a slight nod and said no more.

He hadn’t anticipated that Kenny Lin and Amalia had already arrived ahead of them.

The four of them discussed the plan thoroughly before Canadane Zhao, Vigil Storozh, and President Luis left the island, diving into the sea and quickly disappearing from sight.

Zanilia Zhao watched them leave, praying for their safe return.

"I wonder how Kenny Lin and Amalia are doing. Are they still behind us, or have they already arrived?" Zanilia Zhao pondered.

As they hurried along, they met with some people but hadn’t received any information about Amalia and Kenny Lin passing through.

It was unclear whether they were still behind or had already entered the sea.

Meanwhile, Amalia and Kenny Lin were watching Wealth interrogate a marine-type mutated creature.

This marine-type mutated creature wasn’t particularly strong, its only have intermediate level strength.

With only one swift move, they had subdued it.

Wealth, with its hands on its hips, stared at the mutated creature with an air of superiority.

It chattering away but Amalia and Kenny Lin didn’t understand any of its word.

This is why humans had yet to decipher the language of mutated creatures.

Amalia couldn’t help but ask Kenny Lin, "Is this mutated creature dumb? Wealth’s been talking for so long, and it hasn’t reacted at all."

"Maybe because it’s level is not that high," Kenny Lin speculated.

"That’s possible. But if it doesn’t speak, we can’t get any information," Amalia said, a little bit worried.

They had used this method many times before, always successfully.

This was the first time it had failed, and with an intermediate level mutated creature, no less.

"Maybe it’s because we’re here?" Kenny Lin had a sudden idea.

Amalia’s eyes lit up, "That could be. But Wealth isn’t strong enough to capture it alone."

Kenny Lin suggested, "We can have it pretend to be a companion of these mutated creatures."

Amalia glanced at Wealth, who was so small that it barely reached the mutated creature’s hand, and worried it might get swallowed before it could speak.

"Let’s try it."

If the worst happened and the mutated creature swallowed Wealth, they could always cut it open to rescue it afterward.

Wealth sneezed.

Who was talking badly about it behind its back?

Kenny Lin swiftly dispatched the mutated creature.

Amalia discussed their plan with Wealth, who repeatedly asked if they would stay nearby to protect it.

After receiving a positive answer and gaining a high-level crystal core, Wealth excitedly agreed.

Amalia patted its small head, thinking how naive it was.

If they weren’t around, it might get sold without even realizing it, and still be happy to count the money for the seller.

They then targeted a Level 10 marine-type mutated creature on the edge of the Sea Of Death.

It was a mutated sea turtle, large in size but relatively slow in movement and much calmer than the Goblasharks and other marine-type mutated creatures.

If it did try to swallow Wealth, they were confident they could rescue it before the turtle could.

"Go ahead," Amalia gently patted Wealth.

Wealth immediately swam over and made noises to attract the turtle’s attention.
