Chapter 453: The End Of The War (Part 4)
Amalia noticed that Samuel Salvador’s aura was different from before and raised an eyebrow.
"Did you break through?"
Samuel Salvador smiled, "I got lucky."
"That’s more than just luck. Your friend is very bold," Cassandra Lin said as she approached, "Breaking through directly on the battlefield, you really seem to think your life is too long."
"I didn’t expect it, but I have to thank you both."
Samuel Salvador had always known that the battlefield was the best place for him to train, but he hadn’t expected it to be this effective.
"You both? It sounds like something else happened as well?" Amalia asked, intrigued.
They weren’t in the same place when the major battle broke out, so she had no idea what had occurred.
Cassandra Lin shrugged casually, "It was nothing much. When he broke through, Ruben and I just guarded him for a while."
"The actual situation wasn’t as light as he makes it sound. If it weren’t for them, I’d be dead at least ten times over. I owe them a huge favor," Samuel Salvador said.
He wasn’t one to forget a debt of gratitude, and he wouldn’t forget this significant one.
Cassandra Lin didn’t like discussing such matters and turned the conversation toward Amalia, "Amalia, if you don’t have other plans, could you lend a hand? General Silva and my dad took half of the water-type spiritual cultivator away, so we’re short on people."
Seeing Cassandra Lin’s expression, Amalia suspected he knew the full story.
She decided not to mention the situation in Fruit City No. 2 openly, to let others enjoy themselves a little more since things would soon become more difficult.
With her joining in, the remaining healing spiritual cultivator could work more comfortably.
They worked until evening when Kenny Lin came to find her.
"Still not finished?"
As soon as Kenny Lin frowned, Cassandra Lin quickly spoke up, "We’re almost done. We’ll take care of the rest. Little Auntie, you and Little Uncle can leave now."
Amalia gave her a look.
During the day, she didn’t dare call her that, but as soon as Kenny Lin arrived, she did.
The flattery was evident, and she could see Kenny Lin’s expression easing.
She really knew how to smooth things over.
"Have the issues with urban development been taken care of?" Amalia asked as they left the treatment area.
Kenny Lin was straightforward, "I don’t know."
Amalia was surprised, "You don’t know? Where have you been all afternoon?"
Kenny Lin furrowed his brow, "Did you forget what happened during the major battle?"
Amalia was confused.
What had she forgotten?
Kenny Lin took her back to their quarters with unhappy feelings.
Upon entering, they saw someone lying on the floor with their eyes closed, while Wealth was stepping on all over the person’s face.
When Amalia saw his face, she immediately recognized him, "Jacinto Luque? How did you find out?"
She hadn’t told Kenny Lin about it, and unexpectedly, as soon as the matter was resolved, he ran off to catch Jacinto Luque and actually brought him back.
"Tell me, how should we deal with him?"
Kenny Lin stood with his arms crossed to the side, his face cold and ruthless, as if he would strike at once if told to, like a butcher.
Amalia didn’t answer right away; she observed him for a moment.
Kenny Lin couldn’t contain himself and glared at her threateningly, "My Wife, don’t tell me you want to let him go."
The look on his face seemed to say: If you dare suggest that, you’re done for.
It was really quite childish.
Amalia rubbed her temples, "Then let’s kill him."
Kenny Lin’s eyes brightened, and he uttered an affirmative word.
Jacinto Luque, who had been pretending to sleep on the ground, hurriedly opened his eyes but didn’t get another chance.
Bright red blood seeped out from underneath him.
He was killed just like that, without any hesitation.
If Jacinto Luque had known he would die so swiftly, he wouldn’t have pretended to sleep in the first place.
He thought Amalia wouldn’t dare kill him because he was part of the Spiritual Cultivator Association.
If he died, it wouldn’t be easy for them.
Little did he know, neither of them was a normal person.
"What should we do with the body? Now that he’s dead, we can’t let the Spiritual Cultivator Association know we killed him."
Amalia didn’t mind the trouble; after all, there was already plenty.
"That’s easy."
Kenny Lin’s black aura rushed toward the body as he spoke.
It swirled around the corpse, and soon, Jacinto Luque’s body was gone, leaving only an empty set of clothes.
Amalia set the clothes on fire and reduced them to ashes.
"Baby, I took care of him for you. Is there a reward?" Kenny Lin leaned closer to her.
"What kind of reward do you want?" Amalia was curious to hear what he had to say.
She didn’t believe he didn’t have any other motives when he was so eager to capture Jacinto Luque.
Just as Kenny Lin was about to speak, Wealth couldn’t stand idly by any longer and jumped onto her shoulder.
it makes a noisy sound, baring its teeth and demanding something with its little paws.
Amalia remembered she had promised Wealth thirty crystal cores as a reward for finding the Bronze Formanterror, but she had been too busy today and forgot to give them to it.
Just as she was about to speak, Wealth suddenly found itself being lifted into the air and flung out the window with a whoosh.
There was a thud as Wealth landed headfirst on the ground, dazed from the impact.
What just happened?
Where am I?
Wealth wondered.
"Young master, there’s—there’s... a mutated creature in here!" Lorenzo Garraka exclaimed, shocked.
Holden Trueno followed his gaze and saw the dazed Wealth.
He smacked Lorenzo Garraka’s head, "It’s just a mutated creature; what’s the big deal?"
"But how did a mutated creature end up here? Didn’t we kill them all or drive them away?" Lorenzo Garraka hadn’t yet recognized Wealth.
"Y-young master, could this mutated creature be the legendary Lumina Scale Komodo? It really looks like one."
Another subordinate stammered.
