Guerrero Long paused slightly, "The last city siege was only a month ago. Most Tier 1 experts have their own affairs and can’t stay in the city for too long. Do you suspect there’s a human traitor?"

"We can’t rule out that possibility. High-level mutated creatures are not much less intelligent than humans. They might have noticed the pattern of human experts that defending the city. If it’s the latter, changes will need to be made."

"Your concern is reasonable. I’ll mention it to Mr. Lin, but evidence is still needed; otherwise, those Tier 1 experts won’t willingly spend all their time in the city."

Guerrero Long believed this change wouldn’t be easy, as it involved some of the top experts in the Fruit Country.

Amalia wasn’t too worried, "This might be a huge blow to the high-level mutated creatures this time."

"Let’s hope so."

Time ticked by, and the central disaster zone’s environment was no longer suitable for the Heavenly Path University’s students to continue their training.

"You two have worked hard. Go rest for now. I’ll let you know if there’s anything new," Mr. Lin suddenly said to Amalia and his younger son.

"Are you not going to stay and listen to their discussion?" Amalia asked as Kenny Lin walked out with her.

"My wife is leaving, so why would I stay with them?" Kenny Lin said, exasperated.

"Who is that?"

"Seems? I’m Holden Trueno, how could you forget me?" Holden Trueno said incredulously.

Kenny Lin scoffed, "Does being the general’s son make you special? I’m the general’s brother!"

Holden Trueno’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

Was this really the cold and aloof Kenny Lin who is like a snow lotus on a high mountain?

Amalia gently elbowed Kenny Lin and reminding him to be mindful of his demeanor.

Kenny Lin pursed his lips and thinking to himself: Me is me, I don’t want to be anyone else.

Amalia covered her forehead in exasperation at the situation.

Only after they had left without a care in the world did Holden Trueno recover his senses.

He wore a disbelieving expression, wondering if the central disaster zone had changed their personalities, or if Kenny Lin had been hiding his true nature all along.

"Young Master Trueno, I’ve found out what you asked me to," Lorenzo Garraka appeared from somewhere.

Holden Trueno turned to him, "You’ve confirmed it?"

"Yes, I have. I have a friend who is part of the city defense team. They have received orders to move many long-range attackers to the city walls, where they will serve as the main force."

If Lorenzo Garraka didn’t have a friend, he wouldn’t have dared to promise Holden Trueno to handle this matter.

"Indeed, there’s a problem. But why wouldn’t they just openly share this information now?"
