Chapter 425: Defending The City Plan (Part 1)

Tony Lin explained, "That’s what I’m about to address. The main force of the attack on the city is not coming from land-type mutated creatures."

"Colonel Lin, you should just tell us straight away. It can’t be marine-type mutated creatures, can it? Everyone knows they can’t travel that far inland, even if they have evolved."

Tony Lin looked at the person who had spoken, it was a subordinate of General Trueno named José Robles, he then replied, "Colonel Robles, have you forgotten that after land and sea, there is also air?"

José Robles’s expression shifted.

Someone else eagerly asked, "Are you saying that the main force of the attack will be a group of flying-type mutated creatures?"

"Yes, according to reliable information, the mutated creatures that participating in the attack this time will include large numbers of the Red Noctust, the Green Morphaloth, the Blue Vampasloth, and more..."

Tony Lin couldn’t be bothered to argue with José Robles.

Everyone in the room took a breath.

These were all difficult mutated creatures to handle, which had appeared in previous city defense battles and had always caused significant losses to humans.

"Wait a minute, how does Colonel Lin know all these details?"

This time, the question came from another officer named Anna.

"Actually, this information was brought by my younger brother and Amalia. They accidentally discovered that several high-level mutated creatures were preparing to join forces, one of which was an Owlfire."

"The Owlfire’s strength isn’t particularly high. By human standards, it’s classified as a first-class intermediate-level creature. Even without Mr. Lin intervening, Hans Manuel could handle it. The challenge lies with its underlings."

Everyone knew that flying-type mutated creatures were the hardest ones to deal with in the city defense battles because most spiritual cultivators couldn’t fly.

José Robles smiled, "So, it’s Kenny Lin. But how can we be sure the information he brought is accurate?"

"Colonel Robles, are you suggesting my brother would joke about such a serious matter? Are you implying our Lin family would play tricks on everyone with this?" Tony Lin’s tone was cold.

José Robles’s smile faltered.

He only meant to reference Kenny Lin, but Tony Lin seemed to take it as an attack on the entire Lin family.

If the Lin family were to joke about such a matter, Mr. Lin wouldn’t have been guarding the city for so long.

The main disaster zone was under the jurisdiction of Fruit Country, with each city having a top expert to ensure it wasn’t breached by the high-level mutated creatures.

Mr. Lin could have been enjoying life in the capital city, but he sacrificed his freedom to come to Fruit City and guard it for twenty years.

No one could deny the Lin family’s contributions to Fruit Country—not General Trueno, nor José Robles.

If he dared say anything, the other people in the room would drown him with criticism before Tony Lin even scolded him.

"I didn’t say that; I just think we should confirm the information first since it’s such a significant issue."

José Robles reluctantly backed down and tried to find a way out.

However, his excuse was clearly unconvincing.

Hans Manuel grew impatient, "Colonel Robles, Mr. Lin gathered us here to discuss this matter because it’s already been investigated. Time is of the essence now."

The implied message was that any unnecessary speculation should not be brought up, as it would only waste everyone’s time.

José Robles’s expression was both awkward and sullen.

No one present spoke up on his behalf, even those who shared his political alignment, as the outcome was already clear.

The meeting concluded two hours later.

After the mutated creatures’s attack on the city had been confirmed, they began discussing how to strategize against the specific species of mutated creatures that were participating in the attack.

For the first time ever, they had a detailed understanding of the specific types of mutated creatures that would be attacking the city, making it much easier to plan their defense.

As the meeting ended, Mr. Lin stood up and swept his oppressive gaze across the room.

"This matter can only be known by those present here. If anyone leaks information to others before the attack on the city, I don’t care whose backing they have; there will be consequences."

The small conference room suddenly felt oppressively constricted, making it hard to breathe.

José Robles’s scalp tightened under the glance and a chill rushed up his spine.

Those with ulterior motives also squashed any inappropriate thoughts they might have had.

Mr. Lin’s words were clear: anyone who spoke out nonsense to the people outside would face serious consequences.

As soon as the meeting ended, José Robles quickly left the meeting room and hurried back to his quarters, sweating profusely.

He immediately contacted General Trueno to report the situation and relay Mr. Lin’s warning.

Although Mr. Lin had stated that no one should share the information outside the meeting room, José Robles couldn’t keep anything from General Trueno.

"The attack of high-level mutated creatures on the city is a major event that shouldn’t be disclosed. I agree with Mr. Lin’s stance," General Trueno said.

He understood the importance of prioritizing the safety and survival of humanity over personal grievances.

"Can I not even tell Holden?" José Robles asked.

General Trueno pondered for a moment, "Just advise him to be cautious and vigilant before the major battle comes."

José Robles agreed, and they discussed some details from the meeting before ending the communication.

As he ended the call, the door to his room opened.

The person who entered was Holden Trueno, who was the only one bold enough to walk in without knocking.

"Did something happen today? The city seems to have suddenly gone on high alert," Holden Trueno asked and casually finding a chair to sit in.

"Unless something unexpected happens, the next city defense battle will likely happen soon. So, be prepared."

Holden Trueno immediately stood up, "How can it be so soon? We’ve only had a month’s rest."
