Chapter 378: Kenny Lin In Black Clothes Appeared Again (Part 1)
Amalia’s pocket suddenly wriggled, and a head popped out from it.
Its black eyes dart around as if looking for something.
Thinking it was just looking around, Amalia was about to leave when it suddenly jumped out from her pocket and ran in a certain direction.
Before it could get far, a white figure suddenly moved even faster.
The white figure was none other than Kenny Lin.
Amalia walked over and looked at the furball which is now hanging in the air by Kenny Lin.
She then said lightly, "You’ve got some skills now. You’ve achieved your goal, so you want to part ways with us?"
Wealth who is initially still struggling in Kenny Lin’s Hand suddenly quieted down in a second.
It then curled up and made a few pleading sounds towards Amalia.
Of course, Amalia didn’t really think it would run away, she was just scaring it so it wouldn’t dare to run off again.
Wealth was so eager to rush out to that direction, that there must be something in that direction that attracted it.
Ever since she went to the Rodriguez family disaster zone to do the missions, Amalia had discovered Wealth’s peculiar attributes.
She knew that this little creature was very sensitive to minerals, but as for other things, it was hard to tell for now.
"If you dare to run around again, I’ll leave you behind," Amalia threatened it one last time.
"What’s going on?" Kenny Lin could tell that Amalia wasn’t really scolding Wealth.
Amalia told him about its behavior in the Rodriguez family’s disaster zone before.
"I wonder if it’s because it had found the presence of minerals again?" Amalia speculated.
Without hesitation, Kenny Lin said, "That’s unlikely. This place is used to be a lake, now it’s just a wetland, so it’s unlikely to have minerals unless they’re underneath the original lake."
Even if there were minerals under the lake, they couldn’t dig them out.
With their current technology, digging out a vein under a lake isn’t difficult; what’s difficult is when there are mutated creatures underneath.
Unless all the mutated creatures at the bottom of the lake all are cleaned out, they can’t dig for even a day.
Apart from that, they also need to consider the value of the vein under the lake, and whether it’s really worth to spending a large amount of manpower and resources to clean out the mutated creatures here.
Faced with Kenny Lin’s firm denial, Wealth squeaked in disagreement.
Its limbs were still scribbling in the air, indicating it had a different opinion from Kenny Lin.
Finally, afraid that Amalia wouldn’t listen to it, it hugged the nearest tree trunk and refused to move.
"Forget it, let’s go take a look first. If we don’t find anything, we’ll leave." Amalia decided.
Kenny Lin immediately released it.
After Wealth landed on the ground agilely, it then shook its head triumphantly, and walked with an air of arrogance, as if saying: I’m leading the way, and I’m proud of it.
Kenny Lin wasn’t going to argue with a tiny black mouse, especially since it was so small that its arrogance couldn’t do anything to him.
This wetland used to be a lake called the Kilika Lake, but after the lake disappeared and turned into wetlands, the humans still continued to use the old name.
It was marked as Kilika Wetland on the map.
The two of them, along with the little creature, stepped into the wetland, and instantly they felt like they had entered another space.
All the surrounding sounds suddenly disappeared.
Even the sound of their stepping on grass and water puddles feels like it was amplified.
The timid Wealth immediately ran back into Amalia’s pocket.
"It’s a little bit too quiet here. Have you been here before?" Amalia asked.
"I’m just passed by here, never entered it."
Even if he had, he wouldn’t remember them, because he only had memories when he was in White Clothes.
Amalia gently patted Wealth’s head, signaling it to lead the way.
Wealth immediately jumped onto her shoulder, acting as their guide.
Wherever it pointed, the two of them followed it.
Each time they successfully avoided a puddle.
Amalia didn’t doubt it.
But when they suddenly walked in an arc, they both stopped.
Wealth who was pointing in the direction happily, having found something amusing.
Every time it pointed left, Amalia and Kenny Lin would follow it, then it would secretly point to the right after they had walked a little bit, then back to the left.
It thoroughly enjoyed itself.
But just as it was having fun, it suddenly received a smack on the head, looking utterly bewildered.
"Is it fun?" Amalia asked, with her expressionless, as she held it in front of her.
Wealth curled up, facing her paws, with a pleading smile on its face.
"Chrip, chirp."
Looking at its furry black face that pretended to be innocent, Amalia didn’t hesitate to give it another smack.
A few seconds later, Wealth rubbed its head where it was hit, and did not dare to make a sound.
"If there’s a next time, I’ll throw you out. Try me if you don’t believe it," Amalia threatened coldly.
Wealth hung its head dejectedly: I believe you, why wouldn’t I believe you?
Amalia suddenly noticed that Kenny Lin had been unusually quiet for a while.
She turned around to see him, frowning: "What’s wrong?"
Kenny Lin looked at her with a complex expression, and shaking his head, "It’s Nothing."
"Your expression doesn’t look like it’s nothing. You haven’t said much since we entered the wetland. Did you discover something?"
Amalia keeps asking him.
Seeing that she didn’t guess correctly, Kenny Lin didn’t know whether to feel relieved or disappointed.
He actually wanted to ask if Amalia had any milk candies in her hands, but thinking about how he had previously shown disgust towards them in front of her, he couldn’t bring himself to say it.
He didn’t want to lose face in front of her.
