Chapter 320: Spirit Stone Vein (Part 1)
Amalia approached the cave entrance.
The inside of the cave was dimly lit, and she couldn’t see what was inside.
She pinched a piece of the cave wall.
The texture was wet and soft, unlike naturally formed caves.
It seemed more like it had just been dug out, still very ’fresh.’
"Wealth, do you have the courage to go in and see how many people are inside, but don’t let anyone notice you?"
Amalia stepped away from the cave entrance and took out the restless Lumina Scale Komodo from her arms, giving its front paw a gentle shake.
The Lumina Scale Komodo immediately straightened its small chest, showing a courageous demeanor.
If it hadn’t been so eager to go in just now, she might have actually believed its act and sincerely wanted to take on this mission.
"Then go ahead. But, If you’re discovered, run out immediately without any hesitation. Otherwise, I’ll have your dad come back to deal with you. You wouldn’t want to be abandoned by him again, would you?" Amalia gave its bottom a light tap.
She wasn’t sure if it understood what she meant, but the Lumina Scale Komodo wriggled once and then jumped out of her arms.
Its small figure swiftly disappeared into the cave entrance.
Amalia hoped it truly understood and wouldn’t succumb to temporary pleasures, which would ruined the entire plan.
Although she waited outside, she was not idle.
She took advantage of this time to surveying the nearby terrain.
At the same time, she confirmed once again that there was no one keeping watch nearby.
These people seemed to be either overly confident in themselves or believed this place to be well-hidden.
Thinking that ordinary people wouldn’t come here.
So, they are not many people who stationed outside.
Of course, it could also because that they were wary of drawing attention too much by placing many guards here so blatantly.
Its not different from signaling to others that there was something here.
Ten minutes later, a faint scraping sounds could be heard.
The Lumina Scale Komodo’s small figure finally emerged, and darting back into Amalia’s arms in one swift motion.
Amalia breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing it.
She placed several pebbles in front of it.
"Drag over as many pebbles as the number of people you saw."
The Lumina Scale Komodo immediately dragged over ten pebbles.
Amalia raised an eyebrow, "Only ten people in total?"
So, subtracting the seven who were outside just now, there were still three people inside.
"What about their strength?"
This question might have been beyond the Lumina Scale Komodo’s comprehension.
It tilted its head, showing a puzzled expression.
Amalia phrased it differently, "Pick out whoever you feel threatened by."
Finally understanding the question, the Lumina Scale Komodo eagerly flicked one pebble out with its claw, then another, and another... until all ten pebbles were out, looking pleased with itself as it gazed at Amalia.
Amalia patted its head, "... Very good."
She forgot that this little fellow didn’t have much strength; whenever it encountered people, it had to run.
But inside the cave, even if it was the weakest worker, it still felt threatened.
This question indeed had depth for it.
Returning to the vicinity of the cave, Amalia stared at the entrance without rushing in.
She picked up a piece of black soil from the ground.
The Rodriguez family sent these people here to dig something, and it looked like a vein.
The workers had soil on the soles of their feet and their gloves were also covered in black soil.
Some had more soil, indicating they were digging with their hands.
This kind of black soil wasn’t soft, and they were digging with their hands instead of a shovel, indicating they were afraid of damaging something in the soil.
If it was just an ordinary veins, it wouldn’t suffer much loss even if the ore was split into two, and it wouldn’t be possible to damage them without a specially made shovel.
So whatever they were digging, it must not sustain any damage on the surface, or it could result in energy loss inside.
Countless possibilities flashed through Amalia’s mind in an instant—things related to black soil, things that couldn’t be damaged, and things with energy inside.
She quickly listed out over a dozen possibilities, but it was still too many.
"It’s a little bit troublesome. Forget it, let’s see if those three individuals will come out during their next break."
Suppressing her impatience, Amalia grabbed the Lumina Scale Komodo, which was eagerly digging the soil, and dissapear again.
Meanwhile, Elsa Pataky and the others happened to enter the Thunder Zone.
After Amalia left, a large dark cloud formed over the area again.
When they arrived, the mutated creatures had all left to avoid the thunder.
Elsa Pataky waited outside for several hours, until the rain stopped and the dark clouds finally dispersed.
They entered the Thunder Zone and searched for half an hour but still didn’t see Amalia’s figure.
"Didn’t you say she came here? We haven’t seen anyone."
"Could it be that she lied about the Stormforge Crystal Vein as well?"
"She’s so cunning. She definitely wouldn’t linger here for long. Maybe she never even approached this place to begin with and left long ago."
Everyone looked at Elsa Pataky.
Elsa Pataky still felt something was off.
If Amalia didn’t intend to complete the mission, why would she agree to participate in the Rodriguez family’s training?
It didn’t make sense, unless there was something she needed here, so she agreed opportunistically?
Elsa Pataky thought this was quite likely, but this made her even more uncertain about her motives.
The training area in the Sour Lemon City Disaster Zone was neither too big nor too small.
"Elsa Pataky, it’s because of you that we lost her. What do we do now?" the person who spoke earlier asked.
Elsa Pataky glanced at them, "Let’s split up and search for her. Groups of a few people each. Whoever finds Amalia’s trail should leave a mark and not act rashly. Keep a close eye on her, and we’ll act together once everyone gathers."
