Chapter 212: There Is No Law In Disaster Zone (Part 2)
"The artifact in Amalia’s hands is a Pseudo-Spiritual Artifact, a few Dark Armored Wolves are nothing to worry about," Javier Hermandez said triumphantly, and seemingly aware of her confusion, as he moved to Amalia’s side.
Lucia Lopes was speechless.
She knew that Amalia was the top student in the Artifact Refining College, but she didn’t expect her to have already refined a Pseudo-Spiritual Artifact.
"Don’t be stunned. Deal with the injured Dark Armored Wolves first. I’ll go after their leader up ahead," Amalia’s serious voice suddenly transmitted.
The two of them immediately put away inappropriate thoughts and began to cleaning up the aftermath that Amalia left behind.
Amalia had already chased after the Dark Armored Wolf’s Leader.
The Dark Armored Wolves had another significant characteristic – that is they held grudges.
With their keen sense of smell, they could detect the scent of enemies even from several kilometers away.
If they were marked as a target, it could cause significant trouble later.
Amalia could spare the other Dark Armored Wolves, but she wouldn’t let their Leader go.
Because it had the ability to summon Dark Armored Wolves scattered throughout the disaster zone.
Lucia Lopes and Javier Hermandez worked together, and taking only about fifteen minutes to deal with the remaining Dark Armored Wolves.
The ground was littered with the bodies of Dark Armored Wolves, which forming a river of blood that would soon seep into the grass.
In less than a day, this place would return to calmness, with no visible signs of the battle that had been taken place before.
"So many Dark Armored Wolves, we finally made a profit," Javier Hermandez exclaimed excitedly.
They had been inside the disaster zone for almost three days, and the combined harvest from before didn’t even compare to today’s one-tenth.
"Let’s tidy up first," Lucia Lopes’s heavy expression since entering somewhat eased by now.
The bodies of the Dark Armored Wolves weren’t entirely treasures, but they were quiet troublesome to cut up.
Therefore, they stored the bodies in their storage devices first and planned to deal with them later upon leaving.
"Wait!" a loud voice suddenly rang out.
The two of them turned around to see four adult men approaching them quickly.
As they drew nearer, the aura of hostility emanating from them became increasingly obvious.
Lucia Lopes subtly furrowed her brows and whispered to Javier Hermandez to be careful.
These people were mercenaries.
Javier Hermandez, looking confused, and asked, "How do you know?"
Lucia Lopes replied, "My brother used to take me to disaster zones for training. The aura they exude is similar to the mercenaries I encountered in the disaster zone."
The four mercenaries arrived.
When their eyes scanned the over a dozen Dark Armored Wolf corpses on the ground that had not been put away, their eyes began to show a hint of greed.
These Dark Armored Wolves, selling just one corpse could fetch several tens of thousands, and with over a dozen corpses, it could amount to several hundred thousand.
"What business do you have?" Lucia Lopes could notice their intense gaze on the Dark Armored Wolf corpses and with the ominous atmosphere they carried, she had bad feeling.
"It should be us asking you," a man with black-framed glasses stepped forward, wearing a fake smile, and said, "We just chased several severely injured Dark Armored Wolves over here. Are you two trying to steal our prey?"
"You’re talking nonsense! We clearly killed these Dark Armored Wolves. How could they suddenly become yours?" Javier Hermandez thought these mercenaries might have ill intentions, but he didn’t expect them to be so shameless, and blatantly lying to them.
The man with glasses squinted his eyes, sneering, "Looks like it’s your first time in a disaster zone, little one, and you don’t understand the rules here. Besides, with your limited strength, how can you prove that you killed these Dark Armored Wolves?"
"We killed them, what more proof do we need? I think you guys are trying to steal our prey!" Javier Hermandez was infuriated and he didn’t anticipate such audacity.
They were shamelessly telling lies with their eyes wide open.
The burly man among them impatiently said, "What stealing? These Dark Armored Wolves were originally our prey. If you know what’s good for you, leave quickly, or else this Grandpa’s artifact would flying to your head."
"You!" This was the first time Javier Hermandez encountered such a situation, and he was quite agitated.
Just as he was about to continue arguing with them, Lucia Lopes pulled him back.
Lucia Lopes said not to arguing with them.
These people had already made up their minds to steal their prey, and arguing with them wouldn’t make a difference.
Javier Hermandez, discontented, said, "Aren’t they afraid of being exposed?"
Lucia Lopes shook her head, "This is the law of the jungle in the disaster zone. The laws of the outside world don’t apply here."
The disaster zone was cruel, and it was a product from being separated from society.
Here, all kind conspiracies and dirty deeds would be buried, allowing human nature to find extreme release.
Robbing others’ prey was a very common occurrence.
"You’re quite clever. Since you understand, leave your things here, and you can leave before we change our minds." The man with glasses’ lenses flashed with a cold light.
"Sorry, we have no intention of giving you our prey, nor do we plan to leave." Lucia Lopes took a step forward, and her long spear-shaped artifact moving slightly in front of her, clearly expressing a stance of fighting to protect.
"I said there was no need to waste words with them. They are just two kids who haven’t experienced hardships, as seniors, we should teach them the cruelty of this world!" The burly man drew his artifact from behind, and it was an axe with a sharp blade.
The man with glasses shrugged, "Kids these days are too stubborn. Let’s teach them a lesson."
"Don’t worry; we’ll teach them how to behave!"
