Chapter 160: Battle Time (Part 2)

Yannis Yoder’s strength was at Level 5 advanced stage.

It wouldn’t be difficult to defeat him with her current strength.

However, it was a perfect opportunity for a breakthrough.

Since learning about the situation in the disaster zone, she had become increasingly eager to improve her strength.

She didn’t want to miss this chance.

So, Amalia retrieved several formation-type artifacts from the soltice ring that has a function to gather spiritual energy.

She decided to gather all the spiritual energy in the training room to push her cultivation to Level 5 advanced stage.

Meanwhile, Yannis Yoder had begun his preparations for their life-and-death battle.

Due to the situation in the new disaster zone, many senior cultivators were secluded, and focusing on their breakthroughs.

Consequently, there weren’t many people paying attention to their upcoming battle.

Yannis Yoder chose the battleground indoors.

An hour before the battle, there were fewer spectators compared to Amalia’s previous match against Sebastian Caceres.

"What’s going on here?" Mighel Zepeda and his group hurried to the scene, and intending to cheer for Amalia.

But they were surprised to find that theres is less than a hundred people in the arena.

Elena Sandoval and Douglas Valentina were also puzzled, unaware of what was happening.

Previously, there had been so many people watching.

"Could it be because of the situation in the new disaster zone?" they speculated.

"But that shouldn’t explain such a low turnout. There were several hundred people in the last match," Mighel Zepeda’s intuition suggested that there might be another issue at play, and perhaps it was a conspiracy from Yannis Yoder’s side.

Just then, Xylia Lazaro and his friends arrived.

"I know the reason."

"Yannis Yoder is acting on Rasler Yoder’s orders to challenge Amalia to a life-and-death battle. Rasler Yoder doesn’t want to escalate this matter; after all, a life-and-death battle involves fatalities,"Xylia Lazaro stated.

He didn’t mention why he didn’t want it to escalate.

Such matters were the struggles among important figures, and the more insignificant people knew, the less advantageous it was for them.

"But it seems like Amalia hasn’t offended Rasler Yoder. Why would he do this? I heard Yannis Yoder’s targeting Amalia because they have some grudge from their time in big apple city," Elena Sandoval nervously swallowing her saliva.

Rasler Yoder was the leader of the first-year student at the artifact refining college, one could said he was a prominent figure.

"Their conflict is real, but as for why Rasler Yoder is doing this, I don’t know," Luo Xinxin shrugged.

He happened to find out about this because he initially didn’t know about the feud between Amalia and Yannis Yoder.

He just thought they shared the same surname and might have some connection to Rasler Yoder.

It was only later that he confirmed it when he saw Yannis Yoder’s frequent interactions with Karina Wences.

"Their luck is indeed good. The higher grade students are preparing for a ranking competition in the next few days, so everyone’s attention is on them. Otherwise, the turnout for this match wouldn’t have been fewer than the last one," Xylia Lazaro chuckled coldly.

Everyone listened, and exchanging glances in shock, but they all believed him.

Xylia Lazaro’s family also owned an artifat refining factory, but it wasn’t as prominent as the Yoder family’s; the artifacts produced by the Yoder family dominated half of the market, while the Lazaro family barely had any market share.

However, it was precisely because the Yoder family almost monopolized the artifact market that Xylia Lazaro paid close attention to them.

"But what’s their purpose in doing this?" Douglas Valentina was puzzled.

"Deaths, even in a justified life-and-death battle, are best witnessed by as few people as possible. They want to kill Amalia here," Mighel Zepeda expression become grim.

The group gasped in shock.

Confused and bewildered, Elena Sandov asked, "Is Yannis Yoder that formidable? If someone has to die, wouldn’t it be him? What are you all worried about?"

Xylia Lazaro was momentarily stunned, and then burst into laughter, he then looking at Elena Sandoval appreciatively, "Exactly! Yannis Yoder, at most, is only a bit stronger than Sebadtian Caceres. Although I don’t know where he gets the confidence to believe he can defeat Amalia, this will be his most mistaken decision. I truly don’t believe Amalia will lose."

"Right! I knew it. How could Amalia possibly to lose!" Elena Sandoval proudly lifted her chin.

"Of course, Amalia won’t lose," Mighel Zepeda patted her shoulder, and wearing a sinister grin.

"Those people who came today aren’t supporters of Yannis Yoder; they’re either fans or admirers of Sebadtian Caceres. They all want to see Amalua lose. This is Amalia’s chance to establish dominance and show them what happens when you oppose her!"

"By the way, did anyone see Amia? The match is about to start in forty minutes," Elena Sandoval asked.

Everyone shook their heads unanimously, then looked expectantly at Xylia Lazaro.

"Why are you all looking at me? I have no idea either," Xylia Lazaro rolled his eyes.

Disappointed, everyone thought he might know.

"Has Amalia not arrived yet?" Yannis Yoder had been there since early on, and unable to contain his excitement at the thought of getting his revenge soon.

His eyes occasionally flashed with excitement.

The people that he sent to check quickly returned, "She hasn’t arrived yet."

Furrowing his brows, Yannis Yoder mused, "She wouldn’t bail at the last moment, would she?"

His gaze turned his head to look at Karina Wences in the crowd, who was wearing a hat and having changed her hair color to a reddish-brown to conceal herself; unless one looked closely, she’d be unrecognizable.

"You can’t escape a life-and-death battle," Karina Wences scoffed.

"If she dares to escape, she would say goodbye to her reputation." Yannis Yoder relaxed, and waiting for the agreed-upon time.

If Amalia didn’t show up, although they couldn’t kill him, Yannis Yoder could use it as a public opportunity.

He wouldn’t lose; he might even gain from it.

Naturally, Amalia wouldn’t allow them to have their way.

Half an hour before the match began, she finally emerged from the training room.

Her aura remained as restrained as ever, and concealing her breakthrough.
