Chapter 1240: Unfinished Business

The audience was shaken.

Was this really necessary?

It was just a sparring match, not a battle of life and death, yet they had both fought as if their lives depended on it.

Amalia walked up behind Duan Yao and pulled the sword out of his body.

Just as Yash and the others thought she was confiscating the weapon, the sword suddenly flew through the air and stabbed into the ground in front of Jaya.

"This worthless sword? We wouldn’t take it even if you gave it to us," a military officer standing behind Amalia muttered under his breath.

He was one of the officers who had fought alongside Amalia in the Planet Teutonia battle against the aliens, wielding divine artifact she had provided.

Even though he had never used Jaya’s sword himself, just by looking at it, he could tell the difference—it was like comparing the heavens to the earth.

Back then, when Amalia casually took out more than a dozen weapons, how could she possibly care for this worthless sword?

Even if it were placed in front of her, she probably wouldn’t bother picking it up.

Amalia infused some spiritual energy into Duan Yao’s body.

His wound quickly scabbed over, though traces of blood still remained, making it unnoticeable to others.

Duan Yao, however, felt his wound heal instantly, his eyes widening in surprise.

"This round is a draw," Amalia announced.

"I can still fight!" Jaya said, unwilling to accept the result.

Amalia chuckled. "Alright, then let’s count this as your win. Now, let’s proceed to the third match."

Duan Yao hesitated but ultimately chose not to say that he, too, could continue fighting.

His injuries had already healed, and if he were to fight again, it wouldn’t be fair.

Jaya, however, felt embarrassed.

His opponent had conceded so easily, making it seem like he had only won through sheer stubbornness and argument rather than actual skill.

"Are we still having the third match?" Amalia asked again.

"Of course! It’s still one win and one loss," the pale-eyed youth said grimly.

"So, you’re the one fighting next?"

"That’s right. Whoever wants to challenge me, just step forward!" the pale-eyed youth said arrogantly.

"Then I’ll give it a try." Kenny Lin spoke with obvious amusement.

The pale-eyed youth’s face stiffened instantly.

"This is it? And you dare to act all high and mighty? Even if you trained for another ten thousand years, you wouldn’t make the cut," Kenny Lin sneered, clearly enjoying seeing people like this get put in their place.

The pale-eyed youth looked furious but didn’t dare to speak out.

Amalia glanced at Shao Jin and Fu Ling.

Seeing the anticipation in their eyes, she opened her mouth to speak, "Then let’s—"

"Wait a moment!"

A somewhat familiar voice rang out from the crowd.

When the figure stepped forward, Jaya and Yash immediately called out, "Senior Chandra, why are you here?"

"I was only away for a short while, and you’ve already caused such a mess. What kind of conduct is this? These are esteemed guests from afar—how can you behave so rudely? Step back at once!" Chandra reprimanded sternly.

None of them dared to disobey Chandra and silently withdrew behind him.

Chandra glanced at the heavily injured Jaya and warned, "Don’t do this again next time."

Jaya lowered his head without a word.

But in his heart, he knew that if a similar situation arose in the future, he would still make the same choice.

The pride of the Pleiades Star System was at stake, and his only regret was that he hadn’t been able to truly defeat his opponent.

Knowing Jaya’s stubborn nature, Chandra chose not to scold him further in public.

"Ms. Amalia, Mr. Kenny, if there has been any offense, I ask for your forgiveness." Chandra cupped his hands toward Amalia and Kenny Lin.

The onlookers were visibly surprised by this scene.

Chandra was a well-known figure and an official representative of their group.

His words carried significant weight.

Now that even he was showing such deference, it proved that the Erythar Star Star System was not as it used to be.

"No need for formalities," Amalia replied casually. "Though if Mr. Chandea could appear earlier next time, that would be preferable."

Chandra caught the veiled criticism but remained composed.

He simply smiled as if he hadn’t noticed and said, "The banquet isn’t over yet. Why don’t we go inside and have a drink?"

"Next time." Amalia turned to Minister Sharif and the others. "Let’s go."

Chandra watched them leave before finally leading Jaya and the others away.

Once they reached a secluded place, he turned to Jaya and asked with concern, "Are you alright?"

Jaya shook his head. "I’m fine for now, Senior Chandra, I..."

"I understand," Chandra interrupted him. "We underestimated them. For now, focus on recovering."

"Alright."

"Senior Chandra, are we just going to let them off like this?" The young man who had been the loudest in provoking the fight spoke unwillingly.

Chandra shot him a glance. "If you’re so eager to get revenge, why don’t you go after them right now?"

The young man immediately fell silent.

"Senior Chandra, that cultivator named Kenny... He’s supposedly only 33 years old," Jaya said, his expression complicated.

"He might have been lying to you. But if it’s true, then we need to reassess this matter," Chandra said before adding, "However, we don’t need to concern ourselves with this any further. His words today will naturally spread, and others will handle the rest."

"What do you mean?" Jaya asked, confused.

Chandra waved his hand dismissively. "You’ll understand in time."

...

After leaving the royal palace, two vehicles pulled up at the entrance, prepared specifically for Amalia’s group.

The service this time was unexpectedly thorough.

Minister Sharif and General Rafiq took one car, leaving the other for Amalia and Kenny Lin.

The rest of the group piled into the first vehicle.

As the cars started and merged into traffic, leaving the palace gates behind, Amalia glanced at the shrinking palace in the rearview mirror. "Once we’re back, I want to go out and look around."
