Chapter 1229: Shadows and Surveillance

Kenny Lin’s smile carried a hint of coldness.

Placing so many surveillance devices—what were they trying to do?

He couldn’t even get a moment of privacy with Amalia.

"I’ll go."

Amalia knew that others found Kenny Lin intimidating, so they would feel more at ease if she went instead.

"A cultivator at the Deity Transformation stage has to do this kind of work? Why not just leave it alone?"

"It won’t take much time. You should get some rest," Amalia said indifferently.

"I’ll take a walk and gather some intel while I’m out."

Kenny Lin wasn’t the type to sit still anyway.

As soon as he left, Amalia also jumped out the window, her figure vanishing swiftly into the night of the Planet Omicron.

The advanced surveillance system of Planet Omicron failed to detect her presence at all.

In a high-rise building diagonally across from the embassy, a group of men dressed in black was monitoring the embassy.

They weren’t relying solely on high-tech surveillance; they also had human monitors in place.

Yet, despite their dual-layered measures, they still failed to notice Amalia and the others’ actions.

After leaving the embassy, Kenny Lin did not immediately descend to the ground.

The night sky above Planet Omicron was surrounded by countless stars.

Beneath the night’s curtain, the city lights flickered, and the sound of bustling activity echoed from all directions.

Under the reach of his divine sense, even the stray dogs in the alleys had nowhere to hide.

A few drunken men stumbled out of a small alley, supporting each other as they swayed unsteadily.

One of them pushed another aside and ran to the corner to vomit.

"Are you okay?" another men asked.

He reeked of alcohol, his face was flushed red, but his eyes still retained a hint of clarity.

The man who had vomited waved his hand dismissively.

Once he was done, his mind cleared up a bit. "I’m fine. Just drank a little too much tonight."

"Should we head home?" his companion leaned against the wall and asked.

"Go home for what? Just to listen to that nagging old hag? I’d rather be out here with a sweet little thing," the man straightened up. "I’m going to find my little lover. If you want to go home, go ahead."

"Fine, but don’t overdo it. Your wife suspected you of cheating last time and even came to ask me about it," his companion said before leaving.

Once his friend left, the man turned around to head back the way he came, only to find a tall figure standing behind him.

"Who the hell are you? Don’t you know not to block the way?"

"I don’t understand your words, but judging by your expression, it doesn’t seem like anything nice," Kenny Lin said as he studied the man, considering how to handle him.

Miralles and the others had specifically learned the language of the Erythar Star System, so communication with him had been smooth.

However, most ordinary people from Planet Omicron hadn’t learned it and didn’t carry language conversion devices.

"Not our language?" The man heard the voice and suddenly recalled that other star system envoys were expected to visit Planet Omicron recently.

He sneered mockingly.

"So, you’re just some idiot from another star system coming here to beg like a dog? Wandering around in the middle of the night—are you up to some shady schemes?" The man began considering reporting the stranger’s movements to the empire.

Kenny Lin had already made up his mind.

"Forget it, I’ll just kill you."

Moments later, he emerged from the dark alley.

"As expected, these kinds of people’s memories are actually quite useful. He knew quite a lot."

For several days, the man’s disappearance did not attract any attention.

Even his friends and family assumed he had gone off somewhere to fool around.

Amalia took less than half an hour to clear out all the surveillance in the entire building and relayed the message to Minister Sharif and General Rafiq.

Without those monitors, they could finally speak freely.

Unlike Amalia and Kenny Lin, who could block any surveillance with their divine sense at any time, the others had to be cautious about being overheard when discussing important matters.

"For now, the Crimson Moon Dynasty shouldn’t make any sudden moves. If anything changes, I’ll notify you all."

"Thank you, Ms. Amalia."

Sharif expressed his deep gratitude.

If it hadn’t been for Amalia and Kenny Lin, their mission would not have gone so smoothly.

"No need to thank me. Has the Crimson Moon Dynasty made any official statements?" Amalia asked.

"Tomorrow, we will go to meet the Emperor of the Crimson Moon Dynasty at the royal palace. I’ve already asked the Noriev Star System’s envoy, and it seems the Crimson Moon Dynasty will use this opportunity to put pressure on each envoy."

"Is the Erythar Star System the only one attending?"

"Other star system envoys will be there as well. The Crimson Moon Dynasty is likely to announce some major developments regarding the aliens affairs."

Amalia pondered for a moment. "If that’s the case, I’ll accompany you all tomorrow."

"Many thanks, Ms. Amalia."

Sharif expressed his gratitude once again.

"We are in this together. I will ensure your safety."

The news of the building’s surveillance being taken down soon reached those responsible for it.

At that moment, they were at the scene of Captain Arjun’s accident.

Several men clad in black military uniforms stood on the charred floor.

At their feet lay the burned corpse of the young man.

After investigating the cause of the accident, they concluded that it was merely a simple mishap, with no traces of human interference.

However, none of them truly believed it was an accident—otherwise, it would have been too much of a coincidence.

"Those people from the Erythar Star System are too arrogant! They even dare to kill our men!" The youngest in the team, Shreyan Yugant, said angrily.

"We have no proof that they were responsible for it," Himadri Shastra responded calmly.
