Chapter 1150: The Energy Chase
Chapter 1150: The Energy Chase
Khalil said, clearly enjoying the situation.
Yes, Officer Khan was indeed shocked, but he didn’t want to let Khalil revel in his victory.
He kept a straight face and said, "It’s fine. We’ll head over now."
He ended the communication briskly.
On Planet Noctis, Amalia and Kenny Lin landed on a towering mountain, gazing at the desolate surface of the planet.
"How’s the situation?"
Amalia shook her head. "I can’t sense the planet’s will. This planet, despite its abundant energy, seems to just be a simple mining planet."
"Try it," Kenny Lin said, stepping forward and jumping off the mountain.
His small frame was as steady as a rock in the cold wind, and once again, he brandished his long sword.
The sword swirled with several streams of air, and with a powerful swing of his arm, a sharp, fierce gale slashed down from above.
A deafening rumble echoed across the sky, and the ground was split into two.
A long chasm extended forward and backward, and from a distance, it seemed as though Planet Noctis had been split in half.
Amalia felt a faint trace of energy from beneath the giant chasm.
No wonder both the space insectoids and the Draconis Empire had their eyes on this planet.
They could sense energy anywhere they went.
Amalia flew to the deepest part of the chasm and attempted to draw in the surrounding energy, along with the surface, into the small world.
With experience from the space insectoid sacrifice, there was little resistance, and the energy stones were stored in a corner of the small world.
"It seems like an energy signature, but it’s kind of underwhelming," Wealth said as he sat up.
He caught a faint scent but wasn’t impressed, so he lay back down again.
Outside the particle storm, Officer Khan piloted the cosmic battleship and successfully rendezvoused with Khalil.
Throughout the journey, they had not seen any space insectoids, and the nearby planets had disappeared as well, finally convincing Officer Khan of Khalil’s words.
"Is Ms. Amalia and Mr. Kenny still on Planet Noctis?"
Officer Khan looked at the thick particle storm, only able to see the vague outline of Planet Noctis from a distance.
"They haven’t come out yet, and don’t try either, Officer Khan. I’ve already tried. The particle storm’s destructive power is too strong; even alien spacecraft can’t withstand it." Khalil warned, as if he had anticipated what Officer Khan would say next.
"Then why did you call me here?" Officer Khan retorted.
"It wasn’t me, it was Ms. Amalia. Maybe she wants us on standby at all times."
As soon as Khalil mentioned Amalia, Officer Khan fell silent.
"By the way, I remember the Empire was eyeing another energy planet back then. How about you stay here and guard, while we go check out that planet?" Officer Khan suddenly remembered this matter.
"We’re not sure what’s going on with that energy planet either. When we arrived, the Space Insectoid Queen was already ordering the attack on Planet Noctis. I suspect they’ve already taken action against that energy planet."
Khalil hesitated for a moment, then continued, "If you decide to go, you’d better be cautious. Some space insectoids escaped, and we don’t know where they went. If you get surrounded, it won’t be good."
"Forget it then. I’ll wait for them."
Officer Khan directly gave up upon hearing this.
Meanwhile, at a certain distant corner from Planet Noctis, a massive silver spaceship hovered in space.
Had they come over, they would have seen this enormous ship, which was only half the size of the cosmic battleship, with a black head-shaped totem carved at its front.
This black skull totem was notorious in the Andromeda Universe.
Any human who laid eyes on it would flee in fear.
It was the spaceship of the alien known as the Prince of Doomsday’s fleet that was renowned for its powerful strength.
No one was willing to confront them.
While the spaceship’s size and energy configuration couldn’t compare to that of the cosmic battleship, things weren’t the same with this spaceship; anything was possible.
At this moment, in front of the spaceship, there was a gray planet floating in space.
This was the other energy planet that Officer Khan had mentioned.
It seemed the spaceship had come for this energy planet, as the technicians aboard the ship were continuously scanning the planet.
The screen flickered with streams of information, most of it flashing by in an instant.
Finally, the data slowed, as if reaching a clear conclusion.
The alien technician’s shoulders slumped slightly.
"How is it?" asked a tall and robust alien man standing nearby.
His expression was grim, his sharply defined features hard and cold.
The technician shook his head helplessly, clenching his teeth lightly. "The final analysis is out—it’s no good. This planet doesn’t seem to have much value anymore."
Velzok’s expression darkened. "You mean to tell me that we traveled all the way to this desolate corner of the Erythar Star System only to find a worthless energy planet?"
The technician shivered slightly. "There’s nothing I can do about it. The data clearly shows that the planet’s energy reserves are nearly depleted. Continuing to exploit it would just be a waste of time."
Velzok took a step closer, his eyes fixed intently on the data displayed on the screen.
"The intelligence we received shouldn’t be wrong. What could have caused this? Did the humans beat us to it and drain the planet’s energy?"
"Humans don’t have that kind of capability," Nykthar, who stood nearby, said calmly.
His tone was firm, laced with blatant disdain for humanity.
"If it wasn’t humans, then what was it?" Velzoks sharp gaze turned to the technician.
The technician took a deep breath.
These two were really something—pressuring a mere technician like him.
"If the data analysis is correct, it’s probably the space insectoids of this universe."
Velzok and Nykthar’s expressions shifted slightly at the mention of the space insectoids.
In the higher-dimensional universe, the space insectoids were a similarly troublesome species.
