Chapter 1141: The Secret of Planet Noctis

"I see what you mean. Are you saying these two planets are inaccessible to the space insectoids as well?"

"Exactly. One of the planets is simply too inhospitable; it’s unclear whether the space insectoids have managed to consume its resources. The other energy planet, however, is surrounded by perpetual particle storms that prevent anything from entering. The apace insectoids would be shredded and swept away before even reaching the surface. No matter how strong their division ability is, they wouldn’t survive."

"The general once said that the Empire had raised this issue multiple times. However, most people felt that the effort and resources required weren’t worth it, so the proposal was never approved and has remained shelved ever since."

Amalia’s gaze fell on the coordinates displayed on the star map. "Are you certain the energy reserves on this planet are significant enough to warrant our visit?"

"When I was still in university, my professor mentioned that failing to exploit the resources of Planet Noctis has always been a great loss for the Empire," Waleed said earnestly.

"Given that, would the aliens really avoid this energy-rich planet just because they’re afraid of the spa e insectoids? A planet the Empire still covets to this day?"

Amalia had only encountered the alien under Aelra so far, but she had a strong feeling that with their arrogance, they wouldn’t simply ignore Planet Noctis if they knew of its existence.

"That’s because the aliens don’t know about it. The last proposal regarding Planet Noctis was made thirty years ago, and very few people even know of its existence," Waleed explained.

"I can guarantee," said Officer Khan, "that the energy on Planet Noctis is enough to enable this battleship to execute at least a thousand spatial jumps."

Waleed nodded firmly. "Planet Noctis is enormous—at least a hundred times the size of Lumora."

"Then let’s go to Planet Noctis," Kenny Lin declared boldly, making the decision before Amalia could speak.

"Alright," Amalia replied. "Prepare for departure."

Officer Khan hesitated before moving. "However, there’s one issue," he said cautiously.

"What is it?"

"Our manpower is limited. How are we supposed to mine the resources of a planet that’s a hundred times larger than Lumora? Even if we worked for a century, we might not extract even a tenth of it, and we don’t have that much time."

It was indeed a valid concern, but Amalia seemed unperturbed. "I have a solution for that; you don’t need to worry. Just focus on the preparations."

Hearing this, Officer Khan refrained from arguing further, though he did remind her, "Understood. This operation may require two spatial jumps."

"Noted. You may proceed," Amalia said with a nod.

Officer Khan, seeing no further reaction from her, hesitated for a moment before leaving.

It wasn’t until he couldn’t see anyone that he turned to Waleed, who had followed him outside.

"You’ve been with them for half a month. Have you seen anything? I’m still a bit worried. Even the space insectoids can’t get past the particle storms. What confidence do they have? And the energy on Planet Noctis, which would take a hundred years to mine, how are they going to extract all of it in such a short time?"

If it weren’t for the General’s orders to follow them without question, he would have asked these two points from the start.

But he hadn’t, partly because of the General’s instructions, and partly because he had keenly noticed something strange about Waleed’s reaction.

He hadn’t shown any reaction at all.

Knowing Waleed, after hearing something like this, he couldn’t possibly remain so calm.

Waleed smiled wryly, "Officer, do you remember the images of several planets collapsing that we saw by accident over the past half month?"

Officer Khan nodded, suddenly widening his eyes in disbelief, "You’re not suggesting... that wasn’t an accident, was it?"

"It wasn’t an accident. Ms. Amalia did it. I don’t know how she has such power, but I did see it with my own eyes. It wasn’t just once or twice. Quite a few planets collapsed, though you didn’t see it."

Officer Khan gasped, "Are you serious?"

He recalled a time when Khalil had told him that the man named Kenny Lin had single-handedly destroyed an entire army of mechas numbering in the tens of thousands.

The alien forces that had been besieging them, including the alien Lorrik, had been wiped out by his hand.

"Absolutely true. So, Officer, don’t treat them like ordinary people. I’m thanking my lucky stars every day that Ms. Amalia is on the side of our Draconis Empire."

Waleed had come to terms with it.

He had learned not to question the actions of the two anymore, but instead silently supported them.

Their conversation hadn’t escaped Amalia and Kenny Lin’s ears.

"Did you have Waleed watch from the sidelines for this moment?" Kenny Lin smiled and looked at her.

Amalia calmly responded, "I don’t want to explain, and I don’t want our plans to be disrupted because of their doubts. It would be best if someone else could explain it for us."

Without a doubt, Waleed was the best person for the job.

As expected, under Waleed’s relentless efforts to brainwash him, Officer Khan no longer doubted Amalia’s words.

He immediately returned to the control room and issued the order for the second spatial jump.

Since the first spatial jump had no noticeable effects on anyone, it wasn’t like the aliens, who always had to make extensive preparations.

They simply did what needed to be done.

After the first experience, only one day was needed to prepare for the second spatial jump.

Under Amalia and Kenny Lin’s divine sense, everyone felt nothing again, and the battleship jumped to a location at least ten thousand light-years away.

The universe was still and quiet, with countless planets floating in the distance, mostly uninhabited.

Since the two spatial jumps couldn’t be too close together, the battleship needed a few more days to rest.

Amalia instructed them to continue their work, and she and Kenny Lin left the battleship to devour the uninhabited planets.
