Chapter 1131: The Final Battle

"All we can do now is take one step at a time," Major General Rafiq said, taking a step forward and gazing at the sky. "Unless a miracle happens."

Would a miracle come?

No one knew.

They only knew that after more than a year of waiting, no miracle had ever come.

Three hours later, the aliens’ ships finally appeared in the skies above Lumora.

The miracle did not arrive.

The inevitable war had begun.

On the aliens’ battleship, Rynis glanced at the silent and unmoving Xevra, who had, an hour earlier, handed over the command of the Cosmorite Mecha squad to him.

Rynis couldn’t fathom what Xevra was thinking, giving him such an opportunity at a time like this.

This was the final battle of the plan.

After the war, there would undoubtedly be rewards and promotions, and as the commanding officer, Rynis would receive even greater honors.

Such a golden opportunity, yet Xevra foolishly handed it over to him.

Although surprised, Rynis didn’t dwell on it.

If Xevra was stupid, it wasn’t his problem.

Without hesitation, he took over command.

No one knew that the figure inside the Cosmorite Mecha was no longer Kenny Lin who is pretending to be Xevra.

Likewise, over on Gaia, Amalia was no longer in Noryn’s Cosmorite Mecha.

Both of them had secretly slipped away from the ship an hour earlier.

Thirty thousand Cosmorite Mechas emerged from the alien ship, forming a dense swarm that made the three million troops on Lumora feel their scalps tingle with dread.

The aliens had actually deployed thirty thousand Cosmorite Mechas this time.

Previously, they had only sent a force of ten thousand.

Clearly, this was the final battle—the aliens were going all in.

"Whether we live or die depends on this last fight." Major General Rafiq sighed softly before climbing into a mecha.

Around him, the other soldiers also entered their respective mechas.

"I’ll take on one of the black Cosmorite Mechas," said Farid, a quiet and reserved soldier.

The alien force of thirty thousand mechas included three black Cosmorite Mechas, the most powerful of their kind.

If left unchecked, even an army of three million wouldn’t be able to withstand them.

The other two black Cosmorite Mechas were quickly "claimed" by other soldiers.

Even though they knew the odds of victory were slim, they had no choice but to fight.

It was their duty as soldiers; dying on the battlefield was their inevitable fate.

"Attack!"

Rynis’s cold voice rang out, reaching the ears of all the aliens.

He and another commander charged to the front without hesitation.

With a loud bang, a massive crater appeared on the ground.

Rynis’s Cosmorite Mecha burst out from the bottom of the crater, only to see Farid’s mecha charging toward him from the opposite side.

"Courting death!"

"What the hell is Xevra doing?" Rynis muttered angrily, only to hear Tirok’s confused voice over the comms.

He turned his head to see Xevra’s black mecha still hovering in the air, unmoving.

Just as they were puzzled by this strange behavior, an unexpected change occurred.

The silver Cosmorite Mechas that was densely packed in the sky, were descending to the ground.

However, something unexpected happened—many of the massive silver mechas suddenly began to plummet, falling rapidly toward the earth.

It wasn’t the mechas’ own landing mechanism slowing them down.

Rather, it seemed as if they had lost gravity and accelerating as they fell.

The loud bangs echoed continuously.

From hundreds of meters above, even the most heavily armored Cosmorite Mechas couldn’t withstand the impact.

The aliens inside these mechas were knocked senseless, their heads unable to match the strength of the Cosmorite Mechas.

Some were even crushed by other mechas that fell above them, causing their entire cockpits to collapse.

The aliens inside had no chance of survival.

The aliens that fell to the ground tried to crawl out of their damaged cockpits.

To their horror, the box containing the Emberion Core suddenly cracked open.

The radioactive radiation from the Emberion Core instantly burst out.

The aliens who are especially sensitive to this kind of radiation, shrieked in pain and scrambled out of their cockpits, as if the radiation were a terrifying force.

On the human side, everyone was stunned, including the soldiers who are charging forward with the resolve to sacrifice their lives.

The moment the battle began, they had already thrown their lives away, focusing only on the idea of killing an alien and gaining a victory.

"General... is this a dream?" Major General Rafiq’s subordinate spoke with a trembling voice, his eyes reflecting the unbelievable scene.

"Why are the aliens’ Cosmorite Mechas falling one by one? Have they turned on each other?"

The humans could hardly believe that any human hero could have pulled off this scene.

The counterattack was even more unbelievable, so the first reaction was that the aliens had turned against each other, which allowed them to take advantage.

Such a large-scale malfunction could only happen if someone had tampered with it in advance.

However, it was nearly impossible for humans to infiltrate the alien battleships, let alone make such tampering.

The scale of such a task would require an immense amount of effort, and no one person could likely achieve it alone.

At that moment, Major General Rafiq felt a wave of emotion, almost to the point of tears, "A miracle has finally occurred, and for once, the heavens have stood on our side."

Compared to the human excitement, the alien commanders Rynis and Tirok had bloodshot eyes.

If only one or two mechas had fallen, they could have dismissed it as an accident.

However, with so many Cosmorite Mechas, nearly all of them falling, the issue was much larger—it was clear that this had been a premeditated plan.

They had been tricked!

"Xevra!"

Rynis’s bloodshot eyes fixed on the still-motionless mecha of Xevra in mid-air.

His throat let out an angry roar.

He wasn’t sure if Xevra was the one responsible, but ever since over an hour ago, Xevra’s behavior had been different.
